Excellent! I plan to incorporate these into my knife fighting practice! In sparring, i get single and double wrist grabbed a lot, haha they're done for now!
in my experience this is the one thing a Wing Chun practitioner needs to learn because this happens more than anything when sparring with anyone outside of Wing Chun. Due to them being hit, they realize they can't keep up and defend, they can't chi sao either, but what they do is often double arm grab at our wrists with a death grip. This guy in the video doesn't have a death grip, keep that in mind. And then they try to kick to our groin while holding us. This is the "go to" defense for those who aren't in Wing Chun. So when learning, eventually go live and have your partner hold tight, and what is most important is soon as you break his grip, have your partner grab again directly. Do not wait like this guy does in this video. In reality you will break their grip, get 1 or 2 hits on them max and they will have your wrists yet again. Yes it's silly, yes it's a very weak defense but this is what "other" guys do who are not trained in WC. They will repeat this all day. It's not hard to break the grip, but what is hard is breaking the grip, properly sliding in to hit them before they grab you that 2nd time. So train live and hard later when you understand these moves. This is by far the #1 thing Wing Chunners need to know because it is the go to for all mma and other guys you sparr with. They talk about "rolling you to floor" or taking you to mat. But in reality, this is what they do, over and over and over with cheap kicks or knees to your groin. Oh and PRO TIP> If you shift or side step, also step INTO THEM! Aggression wins the day. Take up space! Take up Space! Take up space!
You really expressed what i wanted to. I also faced situation like you faced. I fought with a bigger bully than me, he hardly grabbed my thin and weak wrist. After breaking the grab i felt a lot of wrist pain as well.
I have been in situations like this aginst a bigger dude and the moves from this video will not work if the opponent is grabbing the wrist tightly especially if he is bigger. Best bet for your daughter would be good old pepper spray and the kick in the nuts since the opponent is busy Holding both her wrists he cant protect his nuts and thats the opportunity where she can kick or knee him right between the legs and escape after he lets go when she Kicks/knees.
I only did white belt hapkido, but practiced the wrist grab escapes hundreds of times until mastered. I've never met anyone who can prevent me escaping their grip and I'm not that big or strong. It relies on slipping out the weak point in their grip and using sudden/surprise force.
okay I guess... been in many confrontations and I NEVER had anyone grab both if my hands while I m standing still.. or even let them get that close... ridiculous stuff.. I just watch these to laugh at what some people come up with.

Wow. Great video. So simple and super effective. Thanks for uploading this video.
How can my 5'1" , 90 lb 15 year daughter do this when a stronger male of same age or older at school attempts this with almost his full strength ?

It would be way better that you guys made an explanation of what is shown here. That music...epic fail.
Correct!
Music huge distraction couldn’t finish watching
Turn the sound off dunce
Why not have commentary instead of the music?
