I really like this mans approach and demonstrations but from my personal experience this kind of move only works if you're grip strength is stronger than the person you are doing it too. While technique is key, raw power can not be under estimated.
well the thing is what if you have small hands? have bad grip? (sweaty grip).. what if the guy (person) is much larger than you (taller and heavier) ?? what then ?? and even if those things are managed.. the guy isn't going to just stand there he is going to be moving around swinging punches and trying to go toe to toe with you.. again we are talking street fight here circumstances.. this would be dangerous to apply under any of those circumstances I would imagine.. or are they more effective then they appear on video here?
If you are executing a joint lock properly, and I mean full-on as much strength as you can, not practicing with someone who you care around and don't want to break their wrist, your assailant will be screaming, not trying to hit you back. If they even lift up their other arm, apply more pressure and I assure you they will stop. Martial Arts are designed exactly for that reason - so a smaller person can defeat a larger person. This has nothing to do with strength or size (or sweat ;) ) of hands, but everything to do with proper joint manipulation, which is the same of anyone regardless of size :) I am a 5'2", 115 lb female and I practice joint locks on my 6'3", 205 lb boyfriend. He does not like it one bit and cannot escape or wiggle without causing himself more pain. Try it out on someone you know who is willing to practice with you. You'll see! :)
The initial grasp to apply the wrist manipulation requires great precision. Especially when you are under a violent attack, you will not be capable of that kind of precision.
Maybe after practicing the move enough if you have good speed, reflexes, and coordination. But I thought one of the main principles of Krav Maga is that the average person (not just the athlete) should be able to learn these techniques quickly and use them (it was originally used to quickly train ordinary Israelis in hand-to-hand combat during war time, if I’m not mistaken)
Wrist manipulation ate great only against a weaker opponent and the grip must be activated with strength speed and pression otherwise it will not work..
I have heard rumors that there is a man who aspires to become the first martial arts action star and singer. He is of Spanish descent. He wants to change entertainment and create opportunities for the Latin people and immigration. He likes Bruce Lee and wants to advance Jeet Kune Do into his own fighting art. Many say he is very fast when he strikes whether it be a kick or a punch. People also say he is a handsome guy with a big heart. He goes by the name of "Kenji Lucian".
+kemaljabir abdullah Off course it is. Many systems/style´s will have a good deal of shared stuff. They have been barrowing from eachother since the dawn of humanity.
An old school friend showed me a move, but I can't find it anywhere to learn. He basically showed me how to bring anyone to their knees by bending and twisting some fingers to a really painful state where you could hold and lock down that person in that state. What would be the name of that?
To complicated for an elderly person. It has to be simple and quick. As an eldelery person I been assaulted several times with a front shirt grab.I want to be able to to take him down fast and get out fast. And then what you do if you take him down and the idiot is still holding on to your shirt?
Kick him in the knee to bend it backwards or gouge his eyes and minplulate the pressure point behind a attackers ear. If he still holds on once he's on the ground use your imagination, kick him in the kidney or head. I could go into a lot more detail with this. But like you said, the simpler the better. You don't want to have to start doing techniques you have to think about
you spend a whole minute talking about nothing really - then the next minute show three very quick manipulation - here's a tip - why not spend the entire two minutes explaining each manipulation in greater detail and foregoing the minute-long intro? trust me, if you get down to business more quickly, you will have a much more successful channel - your choice -
When you took Krav Maga were you pounding into the ground with exercise before you learned technique and even the technique was simply a drill, not explained well at all? This video is nothing like what I was taking and I'm wondering if it was the place or all Krav Maga.
It was probably where you were going. My school is much more like this, the instructor is really great with explanations, and during drilling he walks around correcting technique of every person.
:D "How do you feel...?" Also a caring guy. That's how you teach MA.
This was a very helpful video for understanding wrist manipulations, thank you very much!

blaze556922 it's about the angle. The wrist can reach a certain point where it is unable to follow the movement of somebody else's wrist

This may be good to get away from your opponent but not to actually wristlock them Charles Wofford martial arts RUclips
I'm really getting into these videos. I also like how frequently they come out.

Ah thats a nice Wrist manipulation
*tips fedora*
My dad taught me this when I was 10 for self defense
The instructor kind of sounds like the voice actor for Viktor Reznov from Call of Duty, and looks like the actual character.
steiner
@@pthreelarry I get it. Dr. Frederick Steiner!
@@CreeperKiller420 6 years. 6 years and you still respond
@@pthreelarry yes.
Wow you respond after 6 years 😳👏
The donor's facial expression when he tried to grab his shirt is priceless 😭
I would definitely use wrist manipulations and locks as instructed in Hapkido small differences to the untrained person but far more effective.
taken from Choi Li Fut. One of the things I like about Krav Maga is the eclecticism.
Look at the five basic techniques from Aikido: Ikkyo, Nikkyo, Sankyo, Yonkyo, Gonkyo. You will not be disappointed.
Yep....took 7 years of Aikido.
did anyone else notice his purple toenail?
+Sage Hawk yes
yup😂
Snoopgirlish That maybe so
Thanks to you i did.
Sage Haq
Middle Eastern men do that
One might wonder how you get out of a wrist lock such as the one he's demonstrating that would be an interesting technique to see
Very good for self defense technique

He is--the most interesting man in the world.
*I don't always drink beer. But when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.*
The first move is great if the person attacking you happens to hold their arm up in front of you waiting for you to grab it....not going to happen
"How Do You Feel?!" LOL
2:19 best face ever XD
this technique exactly same with aikido

@@mauricematla1795 Exatamente! Além disso, o Krav Magá também tem algumas influências no Aikido

what if he grabs your left hand with his right hand ?
we have similar techniques in karate
Super
Alr well now my friends wrist is broken what do i do
Not to bad, but I see fundamental problems that are common in arts that are not specialists in joint manipulation, such as this one.
those are more or less the same techniques as used in Aikido
And Bujinkan budo taijutsu.
I think also in ju-jutsu.
this guy is a good actor
What are you talking about? It's all legit, this guy is amazing, you can learn all of his techniques for only 3 payments of $19.99!!!

ok im like it
Why does the green belt man keep slapping his knee?
+Dadu Days Thats his safety. When the pressure is too much on his wrist, he slaps his knee to tell the instructor so.
great keep going :))

It's hon gyaku from Ninjutsu they copied it
he looks like young frued
Krav maga isn't real, stop copying aikido/aiki-self
Not very realistic training barefoot in a self defense situation. It's a different story wearing jeans, boots and a backpack.

Yes of course every bad guy are weakest and lamest as the stunt guy.
This is no different from aiki jujutsu.
Teaching Aiki Jujitsu as if it was a newly invented martial art. It appears that KM is just a collection of copied techniques from other arts.
Yes this isn’t Krav Maga
Tell that to the peopl going against tyrants
Krav Maga = Jiu Jitsu rebore
I doubt this works
These Israelis don’t mess around
The thumbnail says krav maga so why you wearing Asian martial arts belts
James Roper ok.did not know that.
I always understood it was a purely military adaption of parts of jujutsu/CQC
then why are you on RUclips, it says you can not be 13 and under
