    As an intermediate martial artist with Krav Maga as my primary, knowing this information just might save your buddies life. The LAST thing any one wants to do, is to nail any of these locations during training, without knowing those areas were ever a threat.
    A very new guy(he had no idea) punched my inner arm between my bicep and tricep. My whole arm stopped working. I was lucky it wasn't anything that could cause severe damage.
    Information like this keeps practitioners safe. Thank you for posting! I now know more.

    Unless my life was genuinely in danger I couldn’t bring myself to execute these moves, even if it meant I would take some blows. These moves could easily kill or permanently injure.
    How often in truth have any of us (outside the armed forces, police and security guards etc), really had our lives put at risk by an aggressor? Proportionately, I guess not that many. Useful to know the techniques though ... just in case!

    • @redstone1999

      It can happen anytime to any person. Road rage, violent home invasion, drugged-out &/or freaking mental case, a criminal's target, the wrong place at the wrong time. Better to know how and not having to use it, then not knowing when you need it to save your life. Every fight is a risk of death or serious injuries. Never under-estimate the attacker's will or abilities to kill or cripple you. This is why avoid fighting unless attacker(s) give me no choice.

      I've been in dozens of situations and I'd consider everyone of them life or death. I've trained police academy cadets in small joint manipulations and wrist control. I've even taught hundreds of women simple self defense techniques. The common thread between my combat training, police defense and simple self defense is only using whatever force is necessary to end the confrontation. This instructor claims hitting someone on the top of the head will kill them......what? The top of the skull is the part of the head used to smash faces and break knuckles. The top of the skull is much harder and thicker than the bones of the hand. The instructor them claims striking your opponent in the throat will likely kill them. Nope, not unless you cheap shot the person when their not looking. Experienced fighters tuck their chins protecting the point of the jaw and throat. Fighters with extensive training in jiu-jitsu build up the muscles in their necks making them more resistant to strikes and chokes.
      Krav Maga reminds me of a fancy version of simple self defense. SSD teaches eye jab, ear slap, headbutt, elbow, groin slap and the stomp. With regular practice the practitioner will be able to combine techniques with devastating results. KM and SSD are both taught in some armed forces training. Not because they are the deadliest systems but because they are easy to learn and remember under extreme duress.

    • @drtrollinski
      @drtrollinski 8 лет назад +2

      No. Don't be ridiculous. You don't need to teach anyone potentially lethal combat moves for them to fight back - You want to help them, don't teach them this, because trying to perform this after watching a RUclips video is going to end up ruining both people's lives, on the receiving and attacking end. The person receiving the attacks could end up dying, becoming severely disabled, the list goes on, meanwhile the person that did it gets a lawsuit and throw in jail.
      You want to stop a bully, you grow a spine and hit them. Sure, you'll take a beating if they're bigger and stronger, most likely, but the point is that bullies are scared of anyone who has a pair of balls, purely because they'll think "shit, now that punch hurt like fuck. I'll avoid that happening from now on."
      A friend of mine who has been learning Jiu Jitsu since he was 9, in high school, ended up breaking someone's jaw and cracking a few ribs in 'self-defense', and it's one of the only things he truly regrets doing.
      Moral of story: You don't need to break bones and put people through intense pain to stand up for yourself.

    • @captainvvarco5544
      @captainvvarco5544 8 лет назад +1

      DrTrollinski sound professional, LOL, but the point is most people when they are studying in High school or even lower, they really don't have that much power when they are trying to punch someone, so.... it wouldn't end up with any severe problem. LOL

    First day at KM training.
    The trainer says: "The point of KM is to make as much damage in the least amount of time when your life is geopardized"...
    I hung my hand up and he asked me if I had a question and I said yes.
    Then told him: "When my life is geopardized, to make the most amount of damage in the least time is to hand out my Glock and blow the guys chest with a double tap"... he laughed and asked me whether i was some law enforcement member, to which I aswered affirmative.
    "That is the top Krav Maga -he said-... as it is conceived. A self defense system to save your life. But what I will try to show you, are all the steps before taking your gun of the cases when you´re not armed. Do we agree?"
    I agreed... the man sold me the idea... :-)

      Really, are you an Academy graduate? The methods demonstrated would never be used by a police officer. Cops don't strike they use small joint manipulations to keep an attacker at arms length. If a cop were to attempt any of the strikes demonstrated they'd have to move inside arms length. Getting this close puts your firearm within arms reach of the attacker. Finally if your a police officer you understand the force continuum. The escalation from hand to hand techniques is your secondary weapon "saber red oc, tazzer or stun gun". Your firearm should only be drawn if the attacker poses and immediate threat to yourself or another

    When I was 12 years old we moved from Deland, Fl to Tigard, Or. The movers loosened my BMX handlebars to turn them sideways. Then they failed to tighten them. I pulled a wheelie on the sidewalk. Handle bars came out of the bike at the neck. I went over the handle bars. Landed on my head. Never went to the doctor but to this day I have a crater where I crushed my skull and broke my skull. Mom didnt believe in doctors. Same thing happened next summer motorcycle wreck, damaged my knee for life. Just borrowed some crutches. Never went to the doctor, failed 9th grade physical education because I couldnt run around the track. Wish I knew how to beat some ass back then but I did okay.
