    Now this is a very common and simple strategy but in fights it's the fundamentals and simple strategies that work.
    This technique has also been shared by famous martial artists and instructors like Bruce Lee. This simple trick is something many beginner and advanced fighters may be aware of but may often be overlooked.
    Practice this in your training to achieve clean punches that are almost impossible to read or see coming.

    In today’s video you learn how to land a knockout by hiding your punches.
    This is a technique used by trained fighters that many on the street have no clue about.
    I’ve never knocked anyone out but our good friend Mike Zhang (former North American Muay Thai Champion) has so we brought him on today’s video to show you this technique.
    The technique is all about not telegraphing your punches.
    Anytime you telegraph you give your opponent an extra split second to react and easily dodge your strikes.
    Watch the video and train the techniques Mike will show you today!

    I'm far from a pro but I've been training muay thai off and on for the last 4 years or so, and this was one of the FIRST things my coach taught us. I'm not exactly a big guy. I'm pretty lean; 6 feet tall and about 135 lbs, so I'm pretty thin. coach taught me this simple trick and about 2 months after i started muay thai, I got into a yelling match that resulted in a fistfight after school with a kid from my class. I'd been in fights before so it wasn't too new for me, but they'd always been a struggle since im so thin. However, I just remembered this technique and knocked the guy out cold with a right uppercut. It was my first time knocking someone out, and i owe it to this simple trick. it works wonders lmao

    For all you armchair warriors - You need to practice everyday to make it muscle memory.
    Train under pressure with a great opponent/trainer at least once/twice a week.
    You can't pivot your hips in that chair - even if you keep your elbows inside the chair arm.

    • @houssamk777
      @houssamk777 5 лет назад +4

      Lol they won't understand, besides you can't translate the movement from this video to your body just by watching and you need fighting experience or at least sparring even if you learn how to do it there's different circumstances and situations in fight not a simple one two hook i guess this video showcasing the skill of that fighter and the ability to read and time the left hook, this will only work for active fighters.

    • @hinhaale2501
      @hinhaale2501 4 года назад +1

      I understood fine. Perhaps because it wasn't news and I'm not an armchairwarrior either, I prefer wheelchairs - and I heard its important and good for one to move around alot, armchairs gets gravel in the wheels and break before you get far at all so:)
      Seriously though yeah you gotta practice with every practical skill you wanna learn, get through a few years though and even if you then quit forever, get fat and lose cardio + speed and stress strenght - musclememory remembers so might dull alittle but not that much.
      Main reflexes and how to execute atleast the techniques right will still be there.
      Sometimes you might have to jumpstart them and work the bag a couple weeks or so and it comes back.
      Now you have so much greater odds, but increasing them further by getting cardio/stamina and strenght back is adviced ^_^
      If I remember right the estimated amount or reps you need to master and engrain it good in musclememory i believe is around 1000 times.
      And from there comes the saying "bettee to train 1 technique 1000x than 1000 techniques 1x.
      Which is very true. ;)

    • @hinhaale2501
      @hinhaale2501 4 года назад

      You dont have to be a actively training/fighting after those 1000reps though.
      You drop alot of stats when doing nothing but if you did it right you may depending on time still, the person, and if they did the min 1000 or not.
      You get alittle rusty if many years pass though but refreshening muscle memory requieres alot less before its back again.

    • @hinhaale2501
      @hinhaale2501 4 года назад

      @dark siders 3months isnt much.. Esp if youre being trained at home by your dad with experience in "fight-related sports".
      That could be anything from Hockey to Muay-thai to Aikido - in thix example you'd have a 1/3 shot but atleast 6months-1year.
      If you wanna learn how to knock someone out with more than the one haymaker/wide hook punch that is :P
      I took the beginners class 3x because focus is on building up body, cardio, toughen against blows and just the basic techniques but thats the repetition i wanted since i knew advanced class was more sparring etc.
      Wanted a solid base first, and it went good - had some great 5 years training elite/pro level Muay-thai later but the first 2-3yrs I remember best ofc ^_^
      Im certified to and have worked as a muay-thai instructor and PT aswell, miss teaching class might pick some part-time again so I'll be ready when Corona comes for me, when its due I'll kick its microbial lil ass back 2 china :P

    • @SitNSpinRecords
      @SitNSpinRecords 6 лет назад +20

      Basically it’s the element of surprise that gets you knocked out, not the punch.
      One reason the “sucker punch” is so looked down on.
      Let someone pop you with a rubber band unexpectedly and it will hurt worse than it does getting hit in the exact same spot when you know it’s coming.
      The goal is to create a blind spot and exploit it.
      Not telegraphing or distracting is the only repeatable way to land a punch on someone that’s trying to not get hit.
      That’s why you sometimes see people wave one hand around and quick punch with the other. He’s looking for your eyes to focus on the waving hand so you won’t see the other coming.

    • @SitNSpinRecords
      @SitNSpinRecords 6 лет назад +4

      I used to telegraph on purpose to draw them in. Or if someone liked watching your eyes, I'd telegraph a back leg front kick and look low 3-4 times then look low and start a back leg front kick but half way rotate it to a high round kick to the head.
      Round kick to the face sucks when your arm is trying to block a low front kick. Same idea as the hand wave trick..

      The knockout : requires you rotate the brain in a proper direction so that left and right hemispheres twist in opposite torsion .....the corpus collosum that slice of gummy bear bologna this glueing the two sides, it's resetable..twist as mentioned all signals switch off, then reset on. Tip of the chin is best . It doesn't take shit for power done right. Hope that helps.

    Great stuff. I remember years back when Michael Jai White explained this principle to Kimbo Slice (RIP) on the set of "Blood and Bone." Really cool of you to credit him too, as the concept has been around for centuries obviously, but his explanation is one of the best as far as I'm concerned. But you do more than just replicating his explanation, and add to it considerably by showing how to beat your opponent to the punch and follow up with combos. Excellent stuff.

      @asswuppin 6 лет назад +9

      Robert Deskins Outside of learning positions, escapes from those positions, chokes and submissions, learning BJJ is more a detriment than a boon if one's focus is self defense.
      Why?
      Because the core of BJJ trains the mindset of being on the ground and working from the ground.
      I don't care WHO tells you different: Being on the ground in a life or death situation is THEE worst place one can be.
      Zero mobility
      Zero power
      Zero awareness
      I agree that jujitsu techniques have a place in the world, but if one is not a BJJ/MMA competitor, then you'd be sacrificing the skills that would keep you alive in favor of skills that allow you to dominate submission contests.
      Some will see this as a slight, but the truth is, even seasoned BJJ players have learned that as formidable and competitive they have become because of their BJJ training, they have learned that their skills aren't a good fit when there are absolutely no rules and everything goes.
      That isn't to say that they would be instant failures or that they would stand no chance.
      I am simply telling people that one should know what it is they want to be able to do .. and then focus on that objective.
      MMA and BJJ have given rise to the idea that there is a one-size-fits-all style that will allow people to be both sports competitors who fight within confined rules that have already conditioned their responses and thoughts .. and be all out combatants that kill or be killed.
      I've got news: The biggest differences between self defense and sports competition are:
      *Mindset* - the way one is trained to _think_ when assessing situations and to function optimally to achieve an objective
      *Concepts* - the reason _why_ specific actions are taken
      *Methodology* - the reasons behind _how_ specific actions are taken
      So many people/practitioners think martial arts are only about "moves".
      They aren't. And until one reaches a level of understanding that martial arts aren't just about moves, they'll never see the value in this information.
      Mindset is most relevant here for one reason: One will assess as situation based on the perceived tools/resources he believes he has at his disposal.
      The problem with that is a BJJ/MMA player might be able to beat every man in a bar to death one on one, but if he approaches violence that erupts in that bar the way he would a kickboxing match, chances are he's going take lots more damage that he has to. And as much as people might wish to argue differently, the way one trains is the way he will execute.
      So many people would love to believe that they will only fight like a muay thai boxer in the ring. But no matter where they are, they will fall back into the tens of thousands of hours of practice that they invested once they get hit. Its how the human brain works .. like it or not.
      Same with BJJ. As soon as a BJJ player gets hit, his mind will instantly take him to a place of safety and security. That man was trained to rely and depend on his training .. and that's exactly what he'll fall back on the moment he's hurt and doubt enters his mind.
      How often do we see kickboxers or BJJ players end fights within 5-10 seconds?
      They almost never do .. because their approach and methodology isn't geared for that. They anticipate long, drawn out exchanges and multiple attempts to engage.
      All that is the antithesis of self defense!
      And that isn't to say that all self defense is created equally and highly effective. I've seen some really shitty and unsafe self defense schools .. that teach their students to take stupid and unnecessary risks to look "flashy" instead of effective while minimizing risks. Varying levels of quality exist in all things, including martial arts.
      In the end, I'm just saying that choosing to focus on spending literally thousands of hours of practice in BJJ when your focus isn't on sports competition is a fool's errand.
      One does not need to earn a title or belt in BJJ to learn effective methods of escaping positions and reversing chokes and submissions. Keep it simple. Keep it basic.
      If one is looking to compete in BJJ competition, then by all means learn as much as you can. That's a life long endeavor.

    Now hears a real catcher even better then just told you.
    If your standing in front of someone and they want to fight,
    Raise your hands slowly stretched out in front of you so your arms are at about 90 degrees.
    Now you try to be as close as you can to the person within arms reach, and you say i'm not a fighter or I can't fight, shaking your head, as if your scared and want to leave with palms open.
    What ever you say, you say it with authority,
    but you never let them know that you have practiced the 1 inch punch,
    Use the same technique as described, keeping your elbows down,
    And once you have learned how to hit at about 200 lbs or more with such a punch at the extension of your arm, I would say when you hit that person on the chin, jaw or head any place from such close range, they are going down. Or if you hit them in the chest, They will go backwards enough to probably put them horizontal on the ground. Watch the placing of his feet. So you know which arm to use.
    It wouldn't mater whether he sees it coming or not, He could not react fast enough !
    When you see this coming or happening in front of you you better
    X 150 runt who no one wanted to fight,
    I was bullied all my life and can say I never really lost a fight even against 220 lbs 23 year olds.
    BACK OFF FAST or your down for the count !

      CMAenergy what I do, is I have found a way of punching, not with an attempt to build up momentum in my arms to deliver a hard blow, but to punch really fast, so fast he doesn’t know that I threw the punch until it hits him.

    I did many martial arts (most for a short period of time) but I never learned this. Very interesting. I would like to have him as my teacher, even when I'm not training martial arts anymore. Having someone so knowledgeable is priceless.

    Eliminating the moves that are not necessary, he's a GREAT TEACHER, I had one like him when I was younger.
