My favorite part of this video is how much fun these strangers are having with each other. It's like watching grown men get magically transported back to being kids again. I wish boxing for fun outside of gyms was still a thing because it teaches people essential fighting skills when they're young.
When I was younger I used to get into fights all the time, used to consider myself pretty tough. Fought a few guys bigger then me. I got brought home one time by police and my mum went nuts. She said if I wanna fight she’s gonna put me in a boxing gym. I still thought I was a badass until I met my coach. Didn’t help that the old lady told him to teach me how strong I was.... went 10 mins of punching air and getting the little air left in me jabbed outta my lungs. From that day on I knew I was nothing in comparison to the other fighters in this world, still work out with my old coach and still find that lesson very valuable

Żęåûx X or go slow, i mean, the goal is to hit him, not knock him out, if you really just want to hit him, you jab slower than normal speed, he’ll try to dodge it ofc, and when he does, his head will come back to its normal position before you could fully extend your arms and therefore you’ll get him by surprise, its pretty much what Michael Jai White taught to Kimbo Slice. I don’t recommend using this technique in a real fight, im sure everyone will agree on that. And please, no “mr expert” bs.
ali imran look who’s talking. Im kidding, ofc. Like i said, don’t use it on a real fight. Cause i meant it as a move that can be used to hit the guy on the video not the person you’re fighting with. Cheers 🍻
But start mixing in some knees and elbows...definitely makes dodging and slipping a LOT harder :D Ask the guys I put in the hospital ;P Guy's fast and skilled, though, no doubt about it. Had my neck and spine broken in multiple places from a car accident (girl texting and driving ran right through me at a Red Light, in the end, we can only control so much about our lives, do the best with the hand each of us were dealt), still, did months and months of healing and physical therapy, was able to walk again (not easy after 2 years and 8 months in a wheelchair, told I'd never get out of it -that just pi$$ed me off!), started boxing, knocked the hell out of the young, cocky Golden Gloves Cholos at our club. They thought they could beat any White Boy, none of the others stuck around (some of these kids have been boxing since they could first walk, definitely forced me to take my own game to another level). To be fair, in spite of not formally starting boxing until I was almost 40, I had a decent amount of...let's call them "self defense" moments when I was younger, was a Door Man for a while, changed schools a lot when I was younger, first couple of weeks always involved the standard pecking order scraps, and I'd studied a variety of other fighting styles, including some other forms of striking (sorry, won't tell which here, but the three styles that helped me the most all emphasized relaxed, heavy - sometimes whip-like, strikes, I'll let the reader figure out the best place to learn those kinds of things based on their own interests, life circumstances, and available trainers/schools in their area). Those heavy punches lifted those guys off their toes, drove them into the ropes, earned their respect, I had fun, often wound up running mini-clinics at the end of our sparring days, even our coaches wanted to know how I got so hard (in my experience, Cubans, Russians, Georgians, Indonesians, and Ukrainians have some good insight in that regards). No matter how good you get, though, getting cocky is be a bad idea, no matter how good you are. Everybody gets caught flat-footed or even over confident and lazy at some point, and unless you're a soldier, cop, or security guard, you're not gonna be wearing a bullet proof vest if you get jumped (and they're not knife proof, anyway), it's good to find people better than you and learn from them, keep sharpening your skills, constant evolving your tool kit. Good head movement is definitely one of those Tools worth having, full props to this cat, Trav, putting it on the line as well as sharing what he knows!

I love how this guy is so approachable and an average nice guy. He could smoke anybody but is having a good time just proving his point. Even the other guys are having fun.
I just love this video. Don't underestimate his excellent footwork and his knowledge of where different punches come from. The angles of where they start, where they finish and the length. And the fact that he has no fear. A big plus. But the footwork is key.
We Tengu, no u read his mind, block him at the wrist and punch right in the nose almost simultaneously like Bruce Lee. Then disappear round corner. They never get off the floor quick enough to know where u went. No boxer has ever got past my wrist and u don't waste energy bobbing for apples
The people complaining about this video are reading too far into it. The title clearly states this is about head movement, obviously he isn't going to take into account body shots and leg kicks. He obviously isn't literally suggesting that you will win a fight by ducking and weaving to tire the guy out. I don't pretend to have seen a lot of street fights but the ones I have seen have been drunken bar fights and party brawls full of hay-makers and flailing punches. Most people do not know grappling or have any clue what to do beyond hitting someone in the face. If you know basic techniques like this one, you probably win 99% of the time fighting some average joe.
Nick Summy it also helps to add those gloves in slowing down their punches and many of them having to preload before they swing I'd agree that the take away is in the moment if you duck dodge and weave you could potentially avoid getting hit but in practice a street fight rarely leaves you much time for any defensive moves typically if you are confident and first to act you take the advantage away from the other person so if they decide to continue after you blurr their vision with those watering eyes this would work to maintain the upper hand
I disagree. The title is totally misleading. You wouldn't be able to win with head movement alone unless the guy gets tired and quits. I will agree that the majority of street fights are as you described, which is why I think this video is ridiculous. To downplay the risk involved in that kind of situation is not smart. Drunk angry people and brawls where people are just throwing random hay-makers is not the place to be showcasing your boxing skills. You might win 50% of the time using head movement, and the percentage goes down the longer the fight lasts.
This dude is dangerous af, if he was hitting back he would have easily knocked all of them out. With all those missed punches they're chins where WIDE TF OPEN 😸✌💯
Judas Iscariot not true man butter bean, Andy Ruiz jr., and David Tua are all bigger guys who look chunky and unconditioned buy they hit like freight trains and work their asses off harder than most. Looks can be deceiving
Honestly great head movement, however I think it‘s still a diefferent story if someone was not only going for you head or say was not only boxing but kicking as well. I think it‘s way harder to dodge or counter when you know basically anything could come your way
This was really good. A crystal clear lesson in the need to observe and adapt FAST in a street situation. Continuing to do something that isn’t working will get you into a box very quickly. Figure out what the guy is doing and change tactics fast. Starting with the fact this guy actually knows what he’s doing.
Best thing to do is turn around and walk away. Most punks these days are carrying a knife or a gun. Not like the good old days where 2 guys would duke it out and call it a day.
I knew one kid at the boys home I was in from 15 on up to 18 years old, that had these type skills. What was scary was he also had trained fighting background and also had pain tolerance like no other. David Parsons. Solid dude, humble, kind, but everyone knew they couldn't beat him. Out of 200 some odd kids and house parents, I never saw him get challenged physically above his skillset-not once. He also never seemed emotionally out of control like the rest of US randomly were at the time, we all were troubled kids from various effed up situations. We only knew he was this capable, because he announced when he wanted us to attack him in field combat and woods combat play, as kids we were, but a bit more serious in battle because of emotional wounds and trauma we all individually experienced before the boys home. as in we grabbed wood boards and sticks , things to swing Not to mention, at times, there were 15 or 20 of us going after him at a time, at his request, and yet, he was untouchable until he didn't want to be, then he trained for the pain of the battle which I thought was pretty clever. And that was his insanity. He mastered it. He was like an Angel to many of us, he showed us how to fight amongst ourselves and remain friends after, how to sing on the school bus together and how to stand up for each other and what was right and wrong. He was intimidating in size and skill, even to house parents and experienced fighters who were trained martial artists , ex military, retired military, retired police, who were our house parents. He was Intimidating to the competitive fighters who came to compete in our borrowed gym. Wish I knew where he went. Man you know what, he may have been a Angel! None of us Know what happened to him.
Well done. I've been teaching MMA and other martial arts since 1999, and this was one of the few self defense videos on RUclips I've ever seen which is of any value.
Don't listen to this guy. If he was that good, he'd be a professional boxer. If he's as bad as he looks, he can dodge all he wants - in a street fight he'd get body-slammed before he could shake his head left and right really fast.
@@s.d.8479 Exactly, it might work when your opponents are untrained and unexperienced, but all it takes is one hit and you're out. Boxing is not a "self defense program". Its just boxing. Its the most effective art you can learn for self defense situations, if you only have time for learning one.
Damn good stuff. Love that head movement. However people should keep in mind that focusing 100% of your energy on defense makes defense alot easier, its combining defense with offense thats the real trick.
However as with Krav Maga and KC style if your opponent realizes he's getting no where, he may attempt to tackle- so this though being an interesting exercise might get complicated fast

Not just head movement. A good guard and footwork. But still great stuff. This is important for people to see. As an mma gym owner, just Get into boxing/kickboxing and do some BJJ and wrestling. 2 years of training puts you light years ahead of most people on the street. Good stuff
The key is to miss on purpose if you want to hit him
Żęåûx X or go slow, i mean, the goal is to hit him, not knock him out, if you really just want to hit him, you jab slower than normal speed, he’ll try to dodge it ofc, and when he does, his head will come back to its normal position before you could fully extend your arms and therefore you’ll get him by surprise, its pretty much what Michael Jai White taught to Kimbo Slice. I don’t recommend using this technique in a real fight, im sure everyone will agree on that. And please, no “mr expert” bs.
it's always easier to talk bro
ali imran look who’s talking.
Im kidding, ofc. Like i said, don’t use it on a real fight. Cause i meant it as a move that can be used to hit the guy on the video not the person you’re fighting with. Cheers 🍻

I tried this challenge myself today in the street. Writing now from the hospital.
Beatmac pumchimpum Thats nice.
Say hi to the nurses for me.
