Hey Budheads,
It's been about two years since I first introduced you to my @RecordingKingOfficial RPS-7 Dirty 30's parlor guitar and wanted to give you an update on how it's holding up. Bottom line up front is pretty darn well! It's still a great couch or campfire guitar, as well as a songwriting tool. Some of the finish is coming off of the back, but, honestly, I think it adds a lot of character to this instrument and you can relic your own. I added the LR Baggs pickup to it when I first got it, however, Recording King offers this model with a gold foil pickup that looks like a lot of fun, too. Go check it out.
I recorded the first segment through a dynamic and condenser mic, but I did nothing to that mix to keep it as natural sounding as possible. I want you to hear the guitar.

Great finger picking on the intro. Thought I was listening to Doc Watson.
You’re too kind! 😂 Doc Watson was the man!
Great demo and review! I need to get one of these little guys.
Thank you, my dude! This guitar is a lot of fun at a very affordable price.
Had mine about a week love it.
Thank god some people still watch the sopranos
@@themasculinismmovement it’s a great show.
I know what ya mean about AK summers. I lived there for 4.5 years...didnt play much guitar in summer.
I ordered one of those w gold foil pickup. Supposed to arrive tomorrow...excited to try it out.
I'm thinking of trying it with a little Honey Tone amp....little a Shakey Graves type setup.
Totally, man. You get 12-16 weeks of decent summer and with all that daylight. Got to make 'em count and hard to justify holed up in the garage working on art projects - that's what winter is for! LOL. If you don't mind me asking, what brought to AK? It seemed like shortly after I bought this guitar and put the LR Baggs in there Recording King started putting the gold foil in there. Let me know how you like yours!
Well, in general I don't like back and side on black but abrasion after abrasion it will became a "relic" model! 😃
Anyway the most important thing is that it sounds good.
At the beginning I was attracted by Gretsch Jim Dandy and also other inexpensive short scale parlor models but that RK seems to have got a mature and full sound! 👍🏻
Totally! In fact, mine is already showing a little buckle rash and some abrasions around the edge. Kinda cool.

Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹

Greetings from Alaska!
Word uuuuuup
Wooooord!
What song are you playing in the beginning of the video? Amazing skills man
Thank you! It's nothing in particular. It's a bluesy number I came up with. I appreciate you!
What's better this or the Fender Sonoran?
Great question! I haven't gotten my hands on a Fender Sonoran (yet). I would love to do a comparison though.
I think most RK guitars are better than most any Fender acoustic.
what strings use. nice sound!
Thanks, Ray! The gauge is most likely .11 - .46s. Brand is most likely D’Adario
