I got the concert size on this guitar and I am loving it. Great first acoustic so far. I was very close to grabbing the PRS P20 which is supposed to a parlor guitar, but it’s exactly the same size as the concert JD. I just couldn’t tell enough to justify the extra cost of the PRS outside of the gig bag and the branding.
It‘s a cool lil‘ Jazz Guitar to me. I just gigged with it a couples of time even in a bigger band setting with horns. It has a cool smooth vibe for many styles. I only had to adjust the height of the bridge and now it plays perfectly!
@@TSFAHTPS Do you think it's a good guitar? It wasn’t clear from the video. Both of you specifically mentioned its appearance, and visually, it does look very appealing! :)
Pro tip... don't hold the back against your belly, and the sound of this guitar explodes with tone... of course, this is also obviously true for any acoustic or hollowbody guitar...
And they're acting like it's a new launch, which is weird because there are some very positive reviews of the Gin R., except the ones that say the neck is too narrow and they don't seem to have changed that. The data is still wrong on the frontier stain model in many places. It's sapele and had a noticeably darker tone in their old product video.
A toy guitar essentially ......but whaddya want for $150.00? I just purchased a Canadian made Art and Lutherie roadhouse parlor guitar .....completely different animal with a nice fishman presys system built in .......of course it cost $700.00 though ......looks similar to this one
As far as novelty guitars go I don't think I'd be terribly disappointed. I mean it's not like that Fishman system is going to be an advantage running into a driven 5w combo
I have one and I don’t know why, but it’s massively fun.
beautiful!!! can't go wrong with a Gretsch guys!!! great job!!!
Nifty little guitar and sounds slightly deeper than those travel-sized models. 😺👍

I really like this guitar It's a great value good sounding axe!🙂
I AM thinking off buying One to Record with, i get it is great on a mix
did you buy one mate? i wanted to do the same thing
Always wanted to try one.
They are super reasonably priced, easy experiment!
Sapele is a kind of mahogany and nato wood is pretty similar to mahogany, too. It's cheaper and better available in asia though.
Thank you very much
I've never seen a Jim Dandy model with bridge pins. I have 2 without, I like modding them putting a pick up too.
Can this be a travel guitar for a beginner-low intermediate player ?
@@jitapriyadas9601 yeah sure

I love mine but it is very noisy, how can I fix the noise issue without a noise gate pedal?
This is my main issue, love the sound, cant stand the noise
@@pedalprescription I took mine to a luthier and grounded it and noise is gone
Drift wood dried in the sun for fretboard?
Yeah it’s a bit dry…but it has been really hot here and I think after a bit of lemon oil it would look much nicer!!
@TSFAHTPS They could just dye the wood, some smaller companies do that why not Gretsch.
I think this is the vibe.
So they just renamed the Gin Rickey pretty much?
I’m not sure…first time I tried a Gretsch acoustic

Pretty much. I think they changed it for more name uniformity, and so that they could add the concert and dreadnaught to the line.
It’s brown made me push the bell button!
Hehe…thanks
But the difference with the gin rickey?
none, it's the same guitar, just different label
Please, take care to manage the volume jump from the intro to the vocals next time. That hurt.
Sorry…I get excited when I do the intros…and they can get loud!!
@@TSFAHTPSNo worries, I meant work in post rather than limiting yourselves in the moment.
To teeny for me sorry
🤷🏻♂️
I guess it's ok if you have Ozzie womanly hands but what about the rest of us?
Get something to fit your mutant hands
Haha…
Me gots no neanderthal hands blues 😂
Sounds pretty terrible.
I don't like the presenters voice.
Haha…there is nothing I can do about that…that’s my voice…
