Just a short cover of Gregory Porter’s “Real Good Hands.” It’s a work in progress but I just love this song.

I wrote this song years ago, but it’s starting to feel relevant. Enjoy. JB #work #job #greatamerica Lyrics: This job is just paying its dues It doesn’t fill my soul, how about you? Everytime I get into those lanes I want to turn it around and back again This time I’m leaving my home I’m gonna do it my own way There’s nothing you can do about it So don’t even bother calling my name They call me ...

Mine has hipshot tuners, a tusq nut and a roller bridge. I buffed mine and it is glossy. I also raised the height of the pickups by adding material underneath. I’ve had it for about e 3 years and I play it more than my gibson LP
Far out, man! I actually have since traded this guitar for two others :S. I got an Epiphone Les Paul Jr, and a Epiphone EJ-200. It was a deal I couldn’t pass up. I should probably make a video about it. Nothing against this Guild, I just could never bond with it over time. I’m glad to hear you love yours though, because I do love the look of this guitar.
Good job John.
Thanks, Jimi! You’re a real mensch!
That is a really good song!
Thanks ma!
One of my favorite albums ! Stealing watermelons
Elvin is one of the greats IMHO
Gotta love that test run!
Thanks!!!
Love your score dude, right on! The classic tube amp from Fender which is their re-visited and updated version of their original 410 Bassman, but setup for guitar with reverb and channel switching. I found one on my door step a few years ago: a friend was cleaning out one of his rental units and found it, and knew I was guitar player. I put in all new tubes and set the bias to specs, then tweaked it a tiny bit to get the tone I wanted by replacing the Master volume pot with an audio taper pot of the same value. A 12UA7 in the driver position tames it down a little for a smoother overdrive. Congratulations.
BTW, your is a made in USA version, and don't listen to anyone down playing them, as the 410 version is no longer available new. There are simple updates you can do to make it like the later versions, but IMO the audio taper master volume make a huge differance and makes playing at lower levers much easier to adjust. I would check the speaker plug at the amp and connections to the speakers, as a bad connection can overload the amp and blow a fuse. Be sure to mark the jack where it is plugged in because there are two jacks, and they are not marked; one for internal speakers, the other is for external cabinets. I would replace the output tubes and check /adjust the bias, since you don't know how much use they have had. BTW, never turn on the amp with the standby switch in the ON position, it shocks the tubes with 450 volts before they warm up, to be sure the standby switch is off before turning on the amp, and let it warm up for a couple minute before turning on the standy switch. Your tubes will last 30% longer and thank you.
Dang, man… thanks for all this great information! I’m gonna need to digest it, but nonetheless, it’s a firey amp 🔥!
Cosmic stuff! I hear David Bowie! OMG! You have a 70s vintage SG amp!
Recognize it?
I have the book and the cd, but my cd players are all dead. Thanks for putting this up!
Totally man! I’m glad I did for myself cause it’s been a good reference playlist to refer back to. Cheers!
This is incredible!
@@otadomike thanks man! I got a new album dropping Jan. 17. Follow John Budnik Band wherever you stream!
Nice work
Thanks man! I appreciate you.
Still feel the same way about this guitar?
@@greatwarriorgaming4075 I do! However, I live in an Arctic climate which means it’s cold and dry here, so now this guitar as got quite the humidity crack on it. Nonetheless, it still plays and sounds great!
Recorded in the “Astro-Glide Studio”? Well done!
Acoustics are pretty good in there too
This has Bob Dylan’s fingerprints all over it! I felt time warped back to 1965. Great harp work and sharp chording. Retro feel for sure, take a bow!
Thanks pops!
Diggin’ it!
Thanks Jimbo!
Good stuff brother. 👍
Thanks Jimi!
That is a GREAT song! Thank you! I needed it.

That was a GREAT song! Thank you! I needed it!
Glad you liked it!
How are you liking it? I’ve been looking at this exact guitar.
Hey man, I'm actually trying to sell it. :S I've got too many guitars and I just don't play this one very often. It's a cool guitar. love the P90s and the style of it; however, there are some things that could be better about it. I find the tone knob is either on or off though its a 1 thru 10 sort of deal. It's also hard to reach up into those higher frets as well. It wouldn't break my heart to keep it, but if I could swap it out for something else I will. By all means, play one before you buy it if you can.
@@JohnBudnikBand thanks so much for your reply. I’m looking at some other Guild models and some of the Godin stuff. Peace. 👍

Cool!
Thanks!
I remember when those came out. First one I've seen in Alaska. I'd use that outdoors in Seldovia. I have a LOT of those CTS speakers, incidentally.
Sweet! I actually now have two of these amps. This one and a smaller version with 4 speakers. Just moved the smaller one into my buddy's practice space. Cheers!
Hey John. I just ordered the same RK 12 string. No case or gigbag though. Have you found a decent case for it?
@@scottwilson7095 congrats on your new guitar! I use a simple acoustic gig bag. Seems to work just fine. I don’t take it out of the house, but if I did I’d probably look at getting something sturdier. I would think a case that fits a dreadnought should do well.
Big fan of JM here too. Becoming a Recording King best fan too. Have two and now looking at the 12 string. It sounds excellent on your recording. Did you enhance it at all? Thanks for the great sound!
JM is on my bucket list to see live! Yes, I'm singing into the condenser and I believe I have a dynamic just off camera that I'm running through a preamp. Then I did a litte EQ in post production using Logic Pro. Other than that, tried to capture the natty sound.
My girl was scrolling Facebook marketplace one day like maybe 7 or so years ago, and told me to come see an amp someone was selling for $40, a 212 Hot Rod DeVille, I couldn't drive over there fast enough, I asked if i could bring a guitar to test the knobs and all, and they said ya. Everything worked fine, i still can't believe it. I now run it with my Fender M-80 212, where the DeVille is the dry dark amp, and the M-80 is the bright amp running most of the wet effects, and has a stereo fx loop for my stereo pedals, so I get a wet/dry setup with a stereo feel. The DeVille, that doesn't have wheels, sits perfectly on top of the M-80, that does have wheels, so it sorta feels like one amp, not a left/right situation.
@@skepticalbystander heck yeah! Sounds like a great score!!
@@JohnBudnikBand That amp is probably the best deal I ever got!
@@skepticalbystander love a great a deal! Cherish it, my man!
@@JohnBudnikBand oh i am! Those two amps sound like they were made for eachother as far as my ears tell me. I've been enjoying the two-amp setup for maybe 2 years now, and it's only added to my love of both amps tenfold!
@@JohnBudnikBand and I've had the M-80 for more like 12 or 13 years, maybe even longer, but never thought to put em together, and never had an ABY box til I decided to try, and man, my tone is outa this world, I have a Source Audio EQ2 sending different eq curves to both amps, and it's just insane how nice it sounds. I run a Radial Twin City for an awesome stereo signal. And I like putting my shimmer verb in the "dry" DeVille so it's a darker shimmer, but it doesn't layer on any delay or my other verb pedals or mods, keeps things not so nuts when I'm using "too many" pedals at the same time. The MXR 5150 with the gain just below noon is my main deathmetal distortion, with an EHX East River for that bit more saturation when i want it, and man this setup cooks! I don't like it nearly as much, but both amps' distortions with their gains at max is also a pretty fun sound, i already loved the M-80's fuzz-like distortion, but like most people am neither here nor there about the DeVille's distortion, but both together are more than twice as good as they are apart. I lucked out with this setup for sure!!
Amazing .love it
Me too!
Singer needs more volume on mic.
Thanks. It’s probably just the impromptu quality of the cellphone video when it was taken.

whoa, whoa, whoa... You should not speak into a ribbon mic like that without a pop filter. The ribbon is delicate and will break or stretch when exposed to plosives. The ribbon on that thing is probably already sagging from that onslaught.
I am highly unqualified for this RUclips channel. Cheers.
