Me again - my local friend and mentor told me one night when we were talking that if you do the quizzes every month and attend your chapter meetings you are able to obtain a majority of the needed CEU's. She mentioned that it took away the stress of trying to find CEU's and she was able to focus on the webinars and seminars that she really wanted to take to fill in any missing CEU's. So far in her 10 year career the only time she had trouble keeping up with the CEU requirement was when there was a close death in her family and the first year after that death. I have been friends with her for 20 years (or very close to that) and watched her journey to become a medical coder. I want be just like her when I grow up. 🙂
Awesome! Thanks for the video. I'm almost done with my self paced program. Thanks to you I've had a better understanding to lots of things in the medical coding field. I'm excited to get into this field. My first love was always medicine and went to school for it but life happened and had to be at home now. So this was a way to do somewhat of what I love and utilize my computer skills from years of working. ❤🎉
Do you have a list of “common medical terms” to look for? I noticed in your “let’s code it video” you always read the scenario then say “what is the medical term?” & then you’ll say something like “disorder” and that’s how you know to go to the “disorder” section of the icd10 book. Just wondering if you have a master list of “medical terms (key words)” that help cut time off trying to figure out where to go to look up specific scenarios
Yes the "paper version" is still being sent out. I was finally able to figure out how to get it when I was listening to the new AAPC member orientation webinar a few months ago.
I just raised an eyebrow because a couple weeks ago I randomly got this email from the AAPC thanking me for getting the digital version even though my account was set to paper. I went in and changed it back so... maybe it was just a weird glitch? I feel like if they were going to eliminate the paper version, they would have said something at Healthcon, but now I'm nervous. 😅
I really hope they do not. I tried the digi version and it is nice in a pinch but there is just something about reading a mag with a cup of coffee. It is also much easier to take quiz with the paper version IMO.@@ContempoCoding

Ive tried to access it, it wants me to sign in, it wont take my aapc login so it must be a different login, i do forgot password i get no email even in junk, i try to sign up and it wont take my member ID (probably because I have an account already). Ive sent a couple emails to different departments with no response so im not very hopeful this center will respond either at this point considering id think the career counseling dept i emailed would be higher priority than a savings center on hotels, food, etc...
I just started the AI webinar but got really sick and have not been able to do the webinar. Do you know if I can continue it if I haven done the weekly work or can I catch up. Thanks for helpful videos

Having multiple certifications like the CPC, CCS, and CIC can open up more opportunities and demonstrate your expertise. While it's a lot to take on, if you're dedicated and have a strong study plan, it's definitely achievable. Inpatient coding is a specialized area, so these certifications will be valuable in understanding all aspects of coding.

Two different things, practicode is a separate fee unless you got a package deal that includes it.
