Dylan Talks Tone Recieves Commision From Some Of These Links
The Humbucker Pickups I bought on Amazon have 4 small coils wired in pairs with 4 rails and 3 magnets at the bottom on the base plate. they have 5 wires. One braded main ground, and start and finish for each coil pairs. the DC resistance overall is 18K.they're not really loud and feel more like low output pick ups. when coil split they sound a lot like single coils, probably because they have smaller coils even though they are still essentially humbuckers even when coil split. they are clear and smooth sounding regardless of full output or coil split. the magnets feel very strong. I had to re-solder the rails/blade poles to the base plate when the solder joints broke after I dropped one.. it still worked good but was a bit. microphonic. I figured that the 4 small tall slim coils lend to the clear tone from these humbuckers. I put 3 in my "Stellarcaster"/Strat build. wired like a 50's Les Paul with coil splits . yes 3 vol. and 3 tone pots, all 500K audio taper. P/P for the volume for coil splits and a P/P in the bridge tone to activate the bridge and neck P/Ups regardless of any other controls. I used .047 orange drop tone caps and very small gage stranded wire striped out of a computer VGA cable. with the minimal currant output from the pick ups in the Millivolts why not. soldering app the contact points in the circuit was quite the adventure. I retained the Fender 5-way blade selector switch as I had added a third control pot pair. all loaded in the custom extended hand made brushed stainless steel pick guard that acts as both shielding and the main ground through the pot cases and the output lack mount cup. It all works well once I got the citcuit routed right. I painted the body and head stock in a space theme stars and planets motif with a black and dark blue base done with spray cane and airbrushed detailing with silver micro glitter lightly sprinkled over parts and lightly sprayed with dark blue for effect, airbrushed twinkle stars and comets. and more.. really cool looking with the pick guard and the chrome Tele type knobs and the chrome tip on the 5-way switch. i added a solid brass full size trem block and roller saddles to the bridge the neck got a titanium nut, roller string trees and locking tuners but I may change to regular tuners soon . I strung it with a 9-46 set but I have a high E string breakage problem.that i think is because of the design of the looking part of the tuner. (too sharp edges on the locking plates maybe) so a change is coming to regular tuners. Overall it's a good looking feeling and playing guitar.
My sort of daughter-in-law(son and her didn't marry) arranged all the shelves drawers and cabinets and I still have a time finding things in the kitchen. lol plus the 4 teen boys here move things sometimes. I keep my favorite bowl in my room so I know where it is as well as a set of flatware i like. my coffee maker is in my room with coffee, filters, sugar and creamer as well as powdered 'Gatorade' I like. very convenient this way. I spend most of my time in my room since retirement and the passing of my wife a few years ago. and my son with his bunch moved into my home for reasons. I've owned my home for 18+ years so far. and so totally settled in. still trying to get it perfectly arranged. ned to build a good sturdy futon I saw. called 'the Viking bed'. Heavy reclaimed barn wood frame and very functional design. I'll mod it to my liking but, the basic design will remain. I like my memory foam mattress topper and memory fiber pillows i got at Big Lots. they never go flat, always fluffy. medium firm. just right for me. sorry off on tangents as usual. LOL
On the question that someone asked about z coils, Leo Fender did not invent those. I've seen it in a book a guitar from the 60s that had exactly the same design pickups as a Z-CoiL and they looked exactly the same so I really don't think they would have caught on in the 60s
That Tele stuff is awesome. 350 sounds fair.
Guitars sound so different....❤

TLDR: Not going to watch for over an hour to find out about L, C and R details.
