That's exactly how suppressors/moderators are treated in Zew Zealand, most Scandinavian countries, and even gun restrictive countries like England. Moderators/Suppressors are most commonly treated as basic accessories requiring no special license/permit to purchase in almost every other nation.
New Zealand had laws restricting where you could legally shoot UNsuppressed, at least until their recent changes on gun policy (not sure if that changed too or not). Some outdoor ranges would even require all unsupressed shooters to stand inside a large baffled barrel.

I did this process a couple days ago, and my dealer was too busy to hold my hand through the process, so I went it alone for my first ever NFA purchase. It took me 20 minutes to do the entire kiosk portion, and I could’ve got it done quicker with a little help. Next time will be even faster. Now I just have to wait.

  • @Sizukun1

Thats a pretty neat kiosk, I applaud them for making it as simple as it possibly can be. I bought my first can at a local shop that acted as a concierge service doing all the legwork for you ( at a modest fee). I think most NFA sellers try their best to streamline it, but hopefully with more and more people buying suppressors increasing the ownership numbers we have some statistics showing these aren't crazy or dangerous things.

@@cleetismcdougall5425 well if you listened to the guy, he said you have to use an app off of apple or google. So that means no open source app. Now giving that google & apple are the two biggest invaders of privacy & I am required to use their app to get a government permission slip, well that pretty much sums up the reason I stopped using google or mac systems. There are other OS out there besides ios & google/android. Hell android by itself is a good platform but the google over lay is what makes it a security risk. So they can just as easily write an open source app for anyone to be able to use as they can write proprietary apps for google play store.

@@2326TX no, I didn’t download anything when I used it. The gun store owner took the picture with his phone and I got the kiosk code by text on mine.
The rest was in simple emails.

Can you purchase nfa item in another state? Then pick it up when you get your tax stamp back?? Or you have to get it shipped to a local class3 FFL?

I assume any store with a kiosk also works with silencershop so I can buy the suppressor from the store and the kiosk still helps or I buy it from silencer shop and the store helps by being my FFL? Just trying to clear that up.

Chad please answer my question! I want to set up a trust and register both a SBR and a silencer. If I set up my trust is there a waiting period, in which I can put a can on layaway, or can I start that purchase process while the trust is being set up. Or if doing a trust, is there less of a wait?
