think im about to try and bail one out of jail here soon for the first time haha. Gonna do the suppressor first i think since it takes so long then do a form 1 and build an sbr. Excited for this build as its my first nfa item. Always wanted a shorter rifle with a suppressor though they look like so much fun to shoot.
Once you get an email saying the your form 4 has been approved by the atf can you go pick up your item right away or do you have to wait for paper tax stamp to arrive? Thanks !
For both of the suppressors that I picked up, I just went and got them but I called to see what my FFL’s procedure is. I would suggest that you do that for your FFL. It’s just advised that you keep a copy of the Form 4 on you when traveling with an NFA item just in case you get in legal trouble and are questioned about it.
I purchased mine on 08/24 (did not do a trust) and certified on 09/10. My shop already had my suppressor in hand by 09/10. Everything is done and I'm just waiting now. I'm hoping I can luck out with a fast approval or at least within the claimed 90 days but I've heard some horror stories lately about people waiting 9-12+ months for e-form approvals.
I did it all on my PC @ home(toutch screen)but 1st of course had to mail photos(1 week for appointment),fingerprints(took 2 weeks for appointment) to silencershop and they forwarded to the ATF.Form 3 approved took another 2 weeks.certified by dealer 7/27/23 and been waiting ever since for form4 approval a Rugged brand Obsidian..
Good video explaining the process. Pretty accurate. However my experience was MUCH WORSE than Hai's. It still took me over 7 months to get my stamp ! And the kiosk process SUCKED !! As far as I'm concerned, there is NO advantage to using a Silencer Shop kiosk !!! I could have done almost everything online. I could go into excruciating detail but suffice to say that the process SUCKED and is NOT worth it !!!
You’re lucky er than I was. My 1st one took 15 months ( Individual). My second one took 1 day shy of one year ( trust ). Both were done by silencer shop So, I learned, buy it, do the paperwork and forget about it. It’ll come in when it comes. Both were bought before the pandemic bs fiasco started. I am going to buy another soon. So we’ll see how long that one takes
eForm or paper form, they all very slow, my first suppressor took 10 months paper form, waiting 6 months with eForm, heading out of the country for 2 months, hopefully when I get back my FFL have it ready to pickup
I was in the same boat before I saw this video and now notice that when you click "view" in orders menu and the pop up shows your item with the status bar next to it mine says : "Current Stage: Form 4: Customer Signatures Complete - Awaiting Form 3 Approval". For the life of me I can't see when the Form 3 was filed (another comment on this video said Silencer Shop page shows it) but that explains why my "Preparing for eForms" stage hasn't turned green yet! They're waiting for my item to ship from Texas to my gun store!
Honestly i been wanting a suppressor for like a year now and i just hate the fact that i gotta wait for it and not be able to use it for only atf knows how long as the only shop with a kiosk in my area is the one without a shooting range
Same but considering I've been following that logic for a decade and still wanting one it doesn't make sense at this point. So I went ahead and finally started the process.
I was not aware a flash/sound suppressor for a home defense weapon required an ATF APPROVAL. My ignorance was thinking only a new weapon purchase required a background/concealed carry permit. Live and learn something new every day.
Thank U. Yes until I looked into adding a suppressor to my AR-15 I had no idea. My thought was to help reduce flash & sound in a home defense weapon. Is it just ATF adding more & more rules like with pistol ARs vs SBRs? Or this is just more of what has been?
Absolutely no way of predicting but multiple people have commented about how they’ve been waiting about a year now. All you can do is hope that your application is faster.
@@HaiTran they scared me away with the first wait, that's why I got a chimera 300. Fits my 300 black out my 5.56 and my 7.62×39 got one to do it all. But she lives on my 300.
Eforms so far is crap well passed 90 days and nothing. I really do feel a lot safer, having to do a back ground check on a hearing safe Device. Seeing how so many crimes are committed with suppressors.
My first couple NFA items took between a year and a half all the way up to 2 years since then I've bought several others and they've all taken around a year but just paid for a Nomad LT a week ago and went through the eForm 4 process so this should be an easy wait considering how long I'm used to waiting... Thanks for sharing your experience brother it's given me a little hope this is going to be much faster!!!
Very informative video. I hope they have figured out all the bugs out with the E-Form 4. I bought my Rugged Obsidian 45 suppressor on 10-06-22 and had my FFL ready to certify about 5 days later and I received my e-mail from ATF showing Submitted/In Process on 10-15-22. I too also got the Single Shot Trust so I hope it just doesn't take too long. Please hurry so my Baby can come home!!
The FFL is demanding an extra $100 fee because I ordered a Sig modx9 which happens to come from another vendor. They waited a year to tell me about it. It is shady business practices.

I filed an eForm 4 through Silencer Shop on 7/30/22. Still pending ATF approval today, 1/26/23. I called ATF this AM, and they stated new average wait time is 270 days..
I share my wait times in this video:
ruclips.net/video/Of-eopZCp5A/видео.html
@@HaiTran Cool. Thanks! Looks like I’ll be waiting closer to a year before I’ll see mine.. This is absurd. Pay extra and wait months for a purchased safety device. Compete nonsense.
Hopefully the influx of Form 1s don’t effect your wait times too bad.
@@HaiTran Thanks man.
No problem 👍🏽
I ordered mine from Silencer Shop using eFourms 4 and Single Shot Trust 5-11 2022, certified 6-12-2022. 95 days from certification and still nothing.
160+ days on two suppressors here 👍🏽
Now at 107 days, still nothing.
With the current wait times, I’d suggest not thinking about it too much. You likely have a good amount of time to go.
Have your other suppressors gotten approved yet?
Look at the pinned comment for this video or this: ruclips.net/video/Of-eopZCp5A/видео.html
@@HaiTran i saw ur other video right after the comment lol. Thanks for the info.
No problem 👍🏽
Had a paper Form 4 Trust go into a "pending" status with ATF on June 1, 2021. It's now May 26, 2022 and my application is still in a "pending" status.
😒
Better start making some friends at the ATF so you can get someone to push that through!
think im about to try and bail one out of jail here soon for the first time haha. Gonna do the suppressor first i think since it takes so long then do a form 1 and build an sbr. Excited for this build as its my first nfa item. Always wanted a shorter rifle with a suppressor though they look like so much fun to shoot.
NFA items definitely add a level of fun 👍🏽
Ordered mine 8-2021. Still waiting
I’m assuming you didn’t get to do eforms?
Individual - Form 4 - Eform
Certified 4/6/22
still Pending as of 12/8/22 - 246 Days
Anyone @ or around this time frame?
You’re one day ahead of me to certify on one of my suppressors. I’m also still waiting.
@@HaiTran thanks !
Good luck!
I believe they email you the stamp now instead so your good to pick it up. Saw it at my local shop last week. I’m in NFA jail now waiting for my stamp
@@HaiTran 2/26 still nothing 😞
I purchased mine on 08/24 (did not do a trust) and certified on 09/10. My shop already had my suppressor in hand by 09/10. Everything is done and I'm just waiting now. I'm hoping I can luck out with a fast approval or at least within the claimed 90 days but I've heard some horror stories lately about people waiting 9-12+ months for e-form approvals.
The wait times seem to be around 200 days right now. I’m currently at 170+ days on two suppressors.
I've heard people complain about them kioscks!
People complain about everything. Some valid, some not. Better to try for yourself and develop your own opinions.
Does my silencer shop account email have to be the same as my eform receipt email or maintenance email?
It’s been awhile, but I believe so. You may want to check with SilencerShop.
@@HaiTran Thanks for responding lol I haven't been able to get a response from anyone anywhere 😭
Yeah, when they get busy, SilencerShop is really bad about getting to customers. I remember having to wait for hours on hold just to talk to someone.
Here is my update: ruclips.net/video/Of-eopZCp5A/видео.html
Got my approval yesterday for my efile form 4. Guess I only have a year to receive my suppressor now..yaaayy 😒😒😒😒
Enjoy it while you can 👍🏽
And I'm still waiting ... over 6 months .....
You’re not the only one 👍🏽
“preparing for eforms” is where i am at.. its been 7 days lol
I’m surprised it’s slowed down.
Right now it's looking like 200+ days for Form 4s but that's still relatively quick for someone like you.
eForm or paper form, they all very slow, my first suppressor took 10 months paper form, waiting 6 months with eForm, heading out of the country for 2 months, hopefully when I get back my FFL have it ready to pickup
It is what it is.
Just got a recieved and uploaded email from silencershop, now do i wait on the certify email?
For a trust
If you've done all the paperwork, certifying is the last thing that you do, then wait.
Purchased on 04/26/22
Still waiting on "Preparing for eForms" to turn green 😢
Someone’s slacking with your paperwork!
Their system hasn't been updating people. I'd call your dealer and ask them to check on their end.
It’s been 129 days from being certified and I’m still waiting approval..haven’t even got a notice yet that the check has been cashed yet
Yup. I’m well over 90 days on 2 suppressors at the moment. There’s clearly some deficiencies in this system.
130
Any of you guys get approved yet? Hal or Rob?
150+ days and still no approvals.
Dang…hoping for some encouragement, lol
I am at 180 days...... So painful especially this being my first suppressor.
Currently 170+ days on my third and fourth.
I certainly am.
update?
Honestly i been wanting a suppressor for like a year now and i just hate the fact that i gotta wait for it and not be able to use it for only atf knows how long as the only shop with a kiosk in my area is the one without a shooting range
Yeah, unfortunately it is what it is. Either you play along or you don’t get the NFA items.
Same but considering I've been following that logic for a decade and still wanting one it doesn't make sense at this point. So I went ahead and finally started the process.
It sux that you have to file the paper work one every suppressor once your approved you should be able to buy them and just send in the paper work
You'd think the process would be easier considering what the item is but that's life.
I was not aware a flash/sound suppressor for a home defense weapon required an ATF APPROVAL. My ignorance was thinking only a new weapon purchase required a background/concealed carry permit. Live and learn something new every day.
Yes, there’s quite a large category of firearms that require additional approval.
Thank U. Yes until I looked into adding a suppressor to my AR-15 I had no idea. My thought was to help reduce flash & sound in a home defense weapon. Is it just ATF adding more & more rules like with pistol ARs vs SBRs? Or this is just more of what has been?
Both. These have been standard restrictions but more restrictions are continually attempted to be added.
It's so stupid that you have to wait 3-12 months for something that protects your hearing...
Purchased 9/10/22.
Certified 9/21/22
With a trust
Griffin armament dual lock 5 series
Pending now
Good luck!
I have never had any e-form under 90 days!
Most people haven’t 👍🏽
i’m currently 4month into waiting for my e form to get approved 😭
You likely still have a pretty long wait so just stop thinking about it.
@@HaiTran how much longer do you think?
Absolutely no way of predicting but multiple people have commented about how they’ve been waiting about a year now. All you can do is hope that your application is faster.
Purchase mine on 12/31/21
Certified on 3/3/22
Still waiting for approval.
Good luck 👍🏽
Still waiting!
It took me 15 months to get mine back but it was before the eforms came out the wait just sucked...
I’m definitely finding out that the 90 days is definitely a soft estimate as I’m over 120 days on two suppressors right now.
@@HaiTran they scared me away with the first wait, that's why I got a chimera 300. Fits my 300 black out my 5.56 and my 7.62×39 got one to do it all. But she lives on my 300.
Enjoy it 👍🏽
Eforms so far is crap well passed 90 days and nothing. I really do feel a lot safer, having to do a back ground check on a hearing safe Device. Seeing how so many crimes are committed with suppressors.
Unfortunately, it is what it is.
I’m hopping to get my Nomad L within a month!
I'm at 475 days on a SF RC2 can! 2years bro? That's insane!! Although, I feel I might not ever see this can 😢
@@westernoutpost4154 that is crazy
update?
13 months for approval with eforms and assistance from my congressman
Very informative video. I hope they have figured out all the bugs out with the E-Form 4. I bought my Rugged Obsidian 45 suppressor on 10-06-22 and had my FFL ready to certify about 5 days later and I received my e-mail from ATF showing Submitted/In Process on 10-15-22. I too also got the Single Shot Trust so I hope it just doesn't take too long. Please hurry so my Baby can come home!!
Be prepared to wait because wait times are typically 200+ days right now.
Purchased 2/15/22
Approved 2/28/22
Idk how, but that was the fastest approval I've ever received for my Dead Air.
Man, you definitely got one of those miracle turn around times. Did you file as an individual?
Purchased mine in January with eform and still waiting, it’s actually been 112 days since I certified.. individual trust too
Hopefully it’s any day now 👍🏽
Oh yeah it's easy ,my first by paper took 6 mo.,my second with eforms drumroll ! 16 mo. So far.😢
That’s rough bro.
Is this G4S Tran, through earl seegars ?
I have no idea what your last comment means.
@HaiTran I knew a Tran that was a student at our security school in Ga. Then went on to work for G4S security, thought it might be you.
16 months and still waiting on the stamp from my overlords
Did you do paper filing?
Now I just need to be able to afford a suppressor 😂
Lol there’s some pretty affordable ones, relatively speaking.
Paper Form 4 Individual I am at 528 days.
Dam! Going on two years!
So far 338 days into eforms. Still waiting
I’m 200+ days on two suppressors at the moment. Things aren’t looking too good.
@@HaiTran not at all. They took six months to certify me. Purchased 11/22/2021. Efile.
Wow that’s crazy. So the outlook for you is presumably very bleak and a lot of waiting left for you.
@@HaiTran yea. Silencershop really held my process up
Well, it’s out of your hands now so just set it and forget it 👍🏽
It’s 2023 and I’m past month 7. Still waiting. Lol. It’s the govt. they suck.
Check the pinned comment for my wait times.
Don't expect any help from this The Silencer Shop especially if you don't buy what they sell.
The FFL is demanding an extra $100 fee because I ordered a Sig modx9 which happens to come from another vendor. They waited a year to tell me about it. It is shady business practices.
Bro....I would make a lovely video too if only 95 days. Christ you are one if like 25 people. Mine bought Dec18, Certified April14, Still waiting
I’m at about 8 months with two suppressors…
@@HaiTran yea I swear after April things got so messed up with the everything I haven’t heard of anyone around here in nc getting theirs. I mean it sucks yea ofcourse but if you woulda seen the guy at the ffl and the sign spinner back in December 2021 with the 90 day approval. Glad you got at least some of yours rather quickly
Dam they were hella pushing it if they got a sign spinner out there.
@@HaiTran I may have made that part up…but they almost did lol.
I got some SBR’s that I want to buy but at this point, there’s no certainty if I’ll ever see them so I’m preparing for the Form 1 route for a lot of stuff.
Purchased in April 17th 2022... still waiting it's Dec 23... over 240 days now... 90 day scam
My third just got approved yesterday at 259 days. One more to go!

Seven months and counting!
I’m currently over 90 days on two suppressors so we’ll see how that goes 🙄
I’m like at 89 days :(
I was over 90 days on both the ones I received so it’s definitely a possibility.
Thanks bro !
No problem and good luck bro 👍🏽
Do not despair y’all!!! Mine just got approved today !!! After 200+ days have faith!!!
Sigh...that's both good and terrible news! I think I'm at 160+ days on 2 suppressors right now.
My form 3 was submitted on 5/1 and was just approved today (5/5). 🤞 the form 4 will go quickly as well!
Hopefully it will and good luck!
How do you know when they submit your form 3 ? And did anyone else get a docusign email form silencer shop that filed as individual?? Please help lol
For my Form 3s, I asked. It’s not something FFLs actively keep you updated on because it’s not really something you need to know.
Thanks
No problem 👍🏽
Eform 4 is a joke, My FFL sent in the form on 6/18/22 and I'm still waiting as of 10/14/22.
I’ve been waiting since the beginning of April 👍🏽

Is the government they never will get any better because they don’t have to
They absolutely answer to nobody they take your money and then they said around and laugh at you.
Your basic store clerk can run a background check on you in a matter of minutes but the government takes months even years go figure
120 day's and still waiting 😡

This hasn't aged well. Seriously, they're typically now taking anywhere from $180 to 195 days. It's only getting worse
130+ days currently on two suppressors. ATF FTW 👍🏽
@@HaiTran yep. I'm on day 160. On Reddit there are nfa groups charting the data. The amount of approvals per week steadily drops. Approval times increase.its trending to be worse than paper forms. By the year end it will for sure be 250 days or more.
I’m just trying to get my two suppressors on hold then I’ll probably stop with the NFA items for awhile to wait for some consistency in the wait times.
eForms is a complete shitshow. Average approvals since you posted this are now up to 200+ days. Nowhere near the "estimated 90 day approval". It's better than Paper, but it still sucks
Yup, I have 2 suppressors at 160+ days at the moment.
