Hi Dave, You are a rising star in the quilt world. I know that you will have a significant space at a quilt show very soon, maybe even a gallery showing. You excel in creativity, imagination, and technique. I hope you get the recognition that you deserve and continue to develop your unique style. Very sincerely, J
Love the word "Davetize"! You seem to do it on all your quilts....you totally make them your own by putting your unique stamp and twist on them....what a creative mind you have! Love your videos! You are my favorite quilter to watch on RUclips. Keep them coming!
Your technique OMG ❤. Fantabulous . Then you started in on the dear and I said shut the front door were have you been all my life. I love your style. ❤
Dave, I am watching all of your videos in no particular order and on no particular schedule. I used to quilt when I was young and your presentations/editing are soooooooo satisfying.......just enough talk to help me follow your design choices, methods and materials. I love your spirit and energy and I love your quilts! This quilt is particularly stunning! ( The antlers reigning over the skyline is perfect.) You are a true artist. Thanks for sharing!!!
Before your channel and The Last Homely House, I had zero interest in quilting. I just don’t like most of the traditional block patterns. Now that I realize I can do pretty much ANYTHING and don’t have to be traditional, I actually am really excited about experimenting with this.
Honestly, someone NEEDS to find you. You've got such a unique style - the world needs to see your work. I love your quilts - so refreshing after all the "cute and flowery, follow the pattern to the letter" things most (let's face it) middle aged ladies produce. Keep going Dave - you're an inspiration. xxx
This is so true for me too. I am a very tightly controlled quilter, I have started…very slowly and in small ways…to break out of the traditional controlled box I have made for myself. It’s fun!
Sometimes through your process I think I'm being punked. No way is he going to put that together on the same quilt! Yep, he is. And I love it every time! Keep it up Dave!
Love the term Davitize! Love, Love, Love the quilt. It 's SO you! I usually think outside the box too, so I am happy to find a kindrid spirit! Can't wait to see what you do with the other kits.
To me the upclose views of the skyline with the deers behind is very dramatic. I notice that you like to operate in gray tones a lot. It certainly works on this quilt. The deers are the part of this quilt that I find absolutely spectacular. The seem like beneficial overlords. Very cool.
Yes. Me too. Every time I see someone using a 'New" purchased ruler I think to myself, don't they have any tape? If I just have to do a few, a sticky note works just fine and then you can write on the paper note part a size or color of which ones to do.
It’s yours and that’s good, but if I ever saw this quilt for sale, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. It sings in a language that resonates with me. Keep the music going!
Love it, stunning, so cool, I need to look at my panels in a different light. I have a green city scape, perhaps I need to Rebecca-Itze it. So agree most patterns r so cookie cutter my friends quilts bore me to death lol. Don’t tell them I said that! Can’t wait til the next one.
You always figure it out as you go. 😂 Such an artist. I never do kits, I too have more fabric than time left in my life. Always enjoy watching your process.
I like the way you Davetize and your quilt is awesome. I'm making a quilt for my grandson. His name is David, and I just ordered some Ew David fabric for it. I'm not sure how I will incorporate it into his quilt. I guess I will just have to figure out how to Davetize it. 🙂
Wow Dave! That is amazing and awesome. The "Ew David" fabric cracks me up 😅😂! Im glad you put a label on this quilt. Im really impressed on how ypu paid homage to the original designer, then Davitized it. Im looking forward to whatever you do with the next three boxes.
I don’t get obsessed with anything easily but since your channel popped up, yes that’s happening 😉 This quilt is stunning! I couldn’t agree more. If you ever decide to sell it, I would gladly pay you for your incredible artistic craftsmanship and an eye that I totally get. So appreciate your channel! Your awesome Dave 🖤
I so enjoy your channel. I love how your mind works...your creativity, your thought process, how you think out of the box etc. I enjoy listening to you explain what you're doing and why...sometimes just because. You are so talented! Also like your term...Davetize it!!!
I really enjoyed the idea of using the original quilt as background and the accent motifs apliqué on top. Genius!!! You make quilting fun to the nth level. Great! Keep on creating and sharing. Your ideas are unique and prove that there can be so much more fun! 👍🏼
ONLY YOU can Davetize Dave! As you were making a million HSTs and turned out the exact quilt top on the pattern I was thinking “wait, I thought he was gonna use the city skyline fabric and Davetize this thing”…Just needed to wait for it…. Then you threw in the antlers!? WHOA! Who’s brain works like that? DAVE’S obviously. SUPER COOL! Love it. I also want to see you have your own show and thanks for a look at the backing!❤
Yes! The addition of the deer with the antlers was so unexpected but it works so well! The buildings are huge and structural, yet done in black and white at nighttime, the lights in the windows show us that the building are full of people still at work within. Adding the deer, reminds us that the natural world is just around the corner if we take the time to stop and smell the flowers. I just am really enjoying watching from over your shoulder as you start to build your ideas into a quilt! Love, love, love it so much!!! 🧵🧵👏👏🪡🪡 And then you blew my mind by using a free motion quilting foot!I have been quilting forever and still have not tried one! Maybe tomorrow!
I thrifted that same sheet you have on the wall behind you. Love it! I haven’t figured out what to do with it yet, but it’s destined for a quilt. Gorgeous quilt! I really enjoy watching your process.
I was just in Kona, HI, and there was a quilt shop that had boxes with all the makings for Hawaiian quilts. They were really expansive. One quilt’s stitching was all in the shapes of pineapples and flowers. It was stunning.
I'm with you, Dave. I don't do kits and I tried the Sew Yeah subscription box but I'm canceling it. I can't make something that lots more folks are making. I gotta be me.
Wow, love this quilt, wonderful! I love the random machine quilting, the overlay - especially the deer. Such good ideas, thank you for sharing. Keep Davetizing. :)
Dave, I LOVE this! The only thing that freaked me out was that it looked like you put the cityscape fabric ON TOP of those million HST’s you had just made for the friendship stars. Is that right? I would have left space and just appliquéd the top and bottom of the cityscape so as not to “waste” all those HST’s. Of course, I hate making HST’s so I don’t make any more of them than I can get away with!!! Either way, this quilt is FABULOUS!! I always love your process. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!!!
I thought about that, too. I would have taken out any covered blocks and either made the top a row bigger or worked them into the back or make a matching pillow.
It was a bedsheet that I got on ebay and I hung it there to be the background for my Star Wars quilt video that's up on my channel, I used some of it in that quilt. It wasn't necessarily meant to be hung up in this video I probably just forgot to take it down 😅👨🏻
I have found several old curtains for different movies as well as sheets. They are always seen for what they are... Not copies. Yard sales, thrify shops, etc.
You need to open your own museum\shop/gallery. You are the new generation in quilting. ❤️

I love love love that your Mom sends you fabric care packages ❤️
I'm so happy I found your channel, it's now my new happy place
"A brown duvet is a cry for help." 😆
Love love love this.
Love the word "Davetize"! You seem to do it on all your quilts....you totally make them your own by putting your unique stamp and twist on them....what a creative mind you have! Love your videos! You are my favorite quilter to watch on RUclips. Keep them coming!

Dave, I smile as soon as you say… Welcome to Dave’s Craft Room 💕🧵🪡📍
I am home sick with pneumonia and watching this montage with cool jazz is both soothing and psychedelic.
You make Tuesdays fun!

"Davetise" that is catchy. A new word for the quilting community.
Another winner! GO DAVID GO!!!!!! so fantabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Before your channel and The Last Homely House, I had zero interest in quilting. I just don’t like most of the traditional block patterns. Now that I realize I can do pretty much ANYTHING and don’t have to be traditional, I actually am really excited about experimenting with this.

You are the epitome of a modern quilt designer. Though I make traditional quilts you inspire me to look at my work in different ways.
This is so true for me too. I am a very tightly controlled quilter, I have started…very slowly and in small ways…to break out of the traditional controlled box I have made for myself. It’s fun!
Right? I may get a little wild this quilt season bcuz of his inspiration.
Sometimes through your process I think I'm being punked. No way is he going to put that together on the same quilt! Yep, he is. And I love it every time! Keep it up Dave!
Great way to express exactly how I feel watching Dave Davetize!💚😎
Dave, you are the applique KING! Your quilt rocks, as always. Love your work!
Davitization complete!
Love the term Davitize! Love, Love, Love the quilt. It 's SO you! I usually think outside the box too, so I am happy to find a kindrid spirit! Can't wait to see what you do with the other
kits.
Ew, David is a great addition. Yea Mom!!
PS, I like this quilt a lot!!
To me the upclose views of the skyline with the deers behind is very dramatic. I notice that you like to operate in gray tones a lot. It certainly works on this quilt. The deers are the part of this quilt that I find absolutely spectacular. The seem like beneficial overlords. Very cool.
You made your own Bloc-Loc ruler. Thanks for sharing.
Yes. Me too. Every time I see someone using a 'New" purchased ruler I think to myself, don't they have any tape? If I just have to do a few, a sticky note works just fine and then you can write on the paper note part a size or color of which ones to do.
You are amazing. Your projects are always so unique and interesting. I love that you Davetize your work. Thanks for sharing your process.
That's the perfect example of a davetised quilt! And I feel davetised too 🦄😇🎉☄🔝! Thank you very much and go on davetising everything you touch 👐!
It’s yours and that’s good, but if I ever saw this quilt for sale, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. It sings in a language that resonates with me. Keep the music going!
You definitely Davetized that design!! Never would have thought to put those together!
I just love everything about your channel.
Such a creative mind. !
Love EVERYTHING you do, you're a remarkable human being!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Your creative process is interesting and unique. Freedom to do your own thing.
You are a one in a million! ❤️ I enjoy watching ty
"Deer in the Headlights Among nightmare of triangles"... Amazing concept and thankfully I will never have to do that many HST's...🦌
I LOVE listening to you!
I love the idea of Davetizing! So many things would be improved with a little Davetization. I think your style is great.
Wow Dave! That is amazing and awesome. The "Ew David" fabric cracks me up 😅😂! Im glad you put a label on this quilt. Im really impressed on how ypu paid homage to the original designer, then Davitized it. Im looking forward to whatever you do with the next three boxes.
You just take it a step beyond! Amazing!
Nice! The quilt is stunning 💯
Dude!!!!! You are freaky good
I miss QUILTY Box 😞 I loved them, my first Quilting subscription box. Your creativity is very impressive!
I’ve watched this three times and I know I’m going to watch it again. What a gorgeous quilt!
Please share a video of you playing the piano!
Another thrilling Tuesday. Thanks, Dave!

I love ❤ that you have your own unique style, it makes what you do so much more interesting!
I really like this quilt. You should keep this one for yourself.
I think I would enjoy your videos even if I weren’t a quilter. You are very entertaining!
Not my favorite that you’ve done but as usual, love watching your thought process! You do you because you do you best!
I so enjoy your channel. I love how your mind works...your creativity, your thought process, how you think out of the box etc. I enjoy listening to you explain what you're doing and why...sometimes just because. You are so talented! Also like your term...Davetize it!!!
The question in my mind is " did you ever find the owls"?
open abox and out comes the stars-skyscrapers and stags-wonders never end in your mind
I really enjoyed the idea of using the original quilt as background and the accent motifs apliqué on top. Genius!!! You make quilting fun to the nth level. Great! Keep on creating and sharing. Your ideas are unique and prove that there can be so much more fun! 👍🏼
Thank you so much!
I agree 100%! I have been thinking of getting my daughter a sewing machine, but I actually think my son would love sewing too!
Brilliant hack for squaring up half square triangles without having to spend money on a ruler just for that.
Cut about a million triangles….❤❤❤😂😂😂
You are truly an artist, very stunning, beautiful, awesome work. Love your quilt.
Fabulous!…you are an artist for sure 😊
It is stunning!
I love it too Dave!
Way to go Dave!
I love your mum and her Schitt’s Creek reference 😂
I don't think she knew that that's what it was either 😅😂😂👨🏻
Dave, I believe you have loads of ideas going on in your brilliant brain. Transfer those ideas into your quilts and please keep them coming ❤
I agree! I need to buy myself a free motion quilting foot. I have been thinking about it for years!
ONLY YOU can Davetize Dave! As you were making a million HSTs and turned out the exact quilt top on the pattern I was thinking “wait, I thought he was gonna use the city skyline fabric and Davetize this thing”…Just needed to wait for it…. Dave, love the stories behind your fabric choices and quilt designs!!!
Absolutely fabulous!!!!!
Omg beautiful!
So glad found you!
I was just in Kona, HI, and there was a quilt shop that had boxes with all the makings for Hawaiian quilts. They were really expansive. One quilt’s stitching was all in the shapes of pineapples and flowers. It was stunning.
It’s interesting and I like it.
Love what you did as well!!
I had a moment of doubt about the appliqués but you really hit it out of the park with this one!
I absolutely love it…
I'm with you, Dave. I don't do kits and I tried the Sew Yeah subscription box but I'm canceling it. I can't make something that lots more folks are making. I gotta be me.
It’s wonderful!❤🎉
So wonderful!! I made a quilt with the same fabric by Gingiber! you added wonderful elements to this pattern. EW Davidtized!!
Wow, love this quilt, wonderful! I love the random machine quilting, the overlay - especially the deer. Such good ideas, thank you for sharing. Keep Davetizing. :)

Yes!
I love this❤️
Nice quilt
Thanks man 👨🏻
I like it!
Amaze
Do you have multiple quilt projects going at one time? You amaze me with the amount you get done… while working a full time job! Way to go!
Sometimes I have more than one going but usually I start and finish my projects pretty quickly :P
I wish I could do what you do !
😊😊😊
I'm interested in the Star Wars material that is hanging behind you.
It was a bedsheet that I got on ebay and I hung it there to be the background for my Star Wars quilt video that's up on my channel, I used some of it in that quilt. It wasn't necessarily meant to be hung up in this video I probably just forgot to take it down 😅👨🏻
