    Absolutely love this unique and quirky quilt. The loose quilting stitch also fits. A thought for next time would be fun to look up different suture stitches and incorporate them into the quilting. I took a a class doing this years ago and we set the fabric but i don't remember what was used. We used a pebleo paint product that was painted on. It was allot of fun. 😊❤

    I would have to say what you do is fiber art. I would love to see something like this hanging in an art show. And where are you coming up with the music? I've had to search to find what it is But you have incredibly good taste in music. I never hear things like that anywhere. All in all this is a terrific podcast. It makes my Scrappy quilts look very down home. Consider my mind blown.

    What a COOL quilt! If by some tragic reason you had a bunch of your own xrays it would give a whole new meaning to “memory quilt”.👀 I appreciate that you thought enough about it not to use other people’s tragedy in your quilt. It might be interesting to have a bunch of xrays of animals and see if people could figure out what kind of animal it was. I don’t know but it seems possible some would be similar like dog/fox/coyote, skunk/cat? Some peeps are not that into xrays but you could use this method for all sorts of other themes. I’m also thinking about all those negatives that I can’t seem to just throw away.

    This happened to my sunprint fabric too! I bought the commercial pretreated fabrics in a few colors. I washed them before I quilted with them! My blue ones held up great! The green ones washed out completely, the fabric turned from emerald green background with lime sun prints to being a sickly lime background with super faint yellow sun prints. Thank you for sharing your experience!

    Have you tried soaking the cyanotype in water and white vinegar to fix the color? I definitely agree with using liquid detergent, because it doesn't contain percarbonate.
    Great!😊

    • @davescraftroom
      @davescraftroom  Год назад +3

      luckily I determined that the phosphate in the detergent was the culprit so as long as I don't use that, the colors dont fade 💁‍♂️😜👨🏻

    Hey Dave, Cool quilt. Could you iron, to set the chemical’s into the fabrics and then take a scrap and test it before washing?? Don’t feel alone Dave, I don’t do well reading directions either, I’m a visual learner. 👍 Chris
