    Also one of the few companies that still advocate and will make a " broomstick" putter. I have used regular, "armlock" & have ordered a broomstick. I previously used the armlock like an unanchored putter & this putter technology has transformed my putting. Lots of guff about looks but by the end of the round my bud's conceded my putting was way better. Not that everything went in but everything was closer or looked like it had a chance. Sold.

      I think you'll like it a lot. I got mine a year ago, and it's amazing. I'd say 99% of golfers today don't realize how much they're fighting their own stroke on the putting green. Use this thing for 3 or 4 weeks, then go BACK to a more contemporary-style putter and you'll see what i mean. I honestly can't imagine every putting with anything else, after i've been spoiled by the smoothness of the lie-angle balance.

    Great video Steve. I got mine delivered two days ago but still in lockdown here so only tried it on my mat. Sweet swing and feel. Can't wait to try on the course. With the forward press grip there is no need to initiate the forward press using your hands. i noticed that on the ones you missed you had a slight physical press. Calm hands and increase success rate. That's what I am working on indoors. It makes a difference.

    Honestly folks, you don't really need the stability shaft. I've had this putter in the bag for over four years with the standard KBS. I felt nor saw any significant advantage when I played around with the stability shaft. You want to spend the money on that upgrade, go for it, but I don't think it's necessary. 🤷‍♂️ The grip he's using is awesome (I have it on the LAB blade), and I have a couple of them if I ever want to change on the 2.1, but I still prefer the orginal press grip. It's absolute magic.

      L.A.B. Golf tips the standard KBS Tour shafts more than any other manufacturer, making it quite stiff. Since I play a fairly short shaft at 33", I couldn't justify the additional cost of the Stability shaft for what I thought would be minimal added benefit. But if your back is out of alignment from sitting on a wallet stuffed with cash, relieve some of that pressure and splurge. LOL

    I've had similar results but with a much cheaper putter. I've been stuck on a 4/5 handicap for the past 10 years or so. I've used Newports, Napas, Del Mars, Spider Tour, Spider x and a hole host of other good looking putters from blades to high moi mallets. This year I purchased an old Scotty Cameron DeTour Centre shaft for £70. Its the big T shape one 🤢 I find it rolls the ball great with the weight set so far back from the face, its easy to align, i can hit it all across the face and it stays on line and gets to the hole. It has the same issues as this putter you're testing in that it looks ugly & sounds awful... but I'm now down to a 1 handicap and shot my lowest ever competition score of -3 with it. Now I'm 100% performance over vanity when it comes to choosing my clubs

    I’m not one into spending lots of money on golf products but if this really works and I can get properly fitted I would buy it. Better believe it would be my last putter I ever owned at this price though. I wish they would make this model with the sik face style on it to help produce more reliable rolls no matter the angle it hits the ball. Due to having forward press already built in their face could have different dimensions and it would be their own design. It definitely would be the perfect putter.

    • @tomdiebold79
      @tomdiebold79 3 года назад

      The DF 2.1 are so forgiving that it almost doesn't matter where on the face you hit it - the ball gets to the same place because of the high MOI. I look at the flagstick in the hole when I putt with mine, because it gives me great distance control that way, and if I don't hit it exactly in the middle of the face it doesn't really matter. I think the high MOI mutes the feedback

      A SeeMore (their flagship FGP) is actually a full toe Hang putter. The location of the shaft reduces the poundage of torque but it still requiores manipulation to keep it square. To me this is the best implement on the planet for getting the ball to rattle in the bottom of the cup. It won't read the green correctly for you, but it will get the ball going down the line you have chosen. SUPER forgiving of toe and heel strikes, so much so, that I actually look at the flag stick in the hole when taking my stroke which provides me terrific distance control. That is unless there is lots of break, and I need a different aiming point. Yes it is expensive. Yes it works. And the club you use on 40% of your strokes in a round, has EVERY RIGHT to be the most expensive club in the bag. I thought their new nickel finish was stunning when I first saw it, so I sold my black DF 2.1 and had them build me one in nickel. Interesting that you chose to go down to 69* lie angle, instead of up to 80* for a lie-balanced putter. I met the inventor of your putter just three weeks ago up in the Sierra Nevada. He saw the lie-balanced blade putter I was using and immediately came over to hold it and balance it. I raved about the 80* lie angle in the rules of golf, and he nodded, like he was making mental notes. A lie-balanced putter makes all the difference on those must-have five to six footers.

      The putter is designed to stay square to whatever arc you stroke the putter on. If you rotate the face in excess of the arc, it'll fight you a bit but it will also lead to you squaring the face to the arc over time

    I've seen these for a couple years. I've always thought they were: Too ugly, too big, too expensive, too gimmicky, etc to try. A guy I was golfing with last year showed up with one. I tried a few putts with it. It's balanced alright, the grip is quite odd, it's bigger and uglier than I thought, and won't fix a bad read. My golf partner couldn't putt with it but.. he was raving about how much better he is with it. I'll take a pass until they build something that doesn't look like a huge cattle branding iron

      They do make a blade version called the B.2 it has the same technology, but the laws of physics being what they are; because it is smaller with less MOI the B.2 is less forgiving than the DF 2.1.

    This Putter looks like it does not conform to the rules of the heel to toe length having to be greater than the distance of the face to the back of the putter head. I just trawled through the R&A and USGA rules on club dimensions. There is a get out clause on the conformity for shape as they state that on putters the shape rules are"rarely applied". But if Adam Scott and others start sinking putts from all over the shop, it could go the way of belly putters and you have bought a very expensive door stop.

      There have been no PGA wins with these (yet), but other tours around the world have seen some. If you are a PGA touring pro, you have spent THOUSANDS of hours practicing with your putter and know how to counteract its torque, so you are NOT going to throw that all away unless your putter goes south on you. Adam Scott gamed one at the Masters - no he didn't win.

    • @samhahn6950
      @samhahn6950 3 года назад +3

      If it was a Tayloremade, yes, this cost analysis would be correct. In our case, it really is what it is. Steven chose to upgrade the shaft for $235 and that price is dictated by BGT, not us. Without the upgrades, the putter is $425. As for the rest of the putter, its premium stuff made ENTIRELY in the US. We can't mass produce them as each needs to be hand balanced to achieve our tech. Effectively, every putter we make is custom and you'd be hard pressed to find a custom putter anywhere in the world for anywhere near our price. It can be off-putting to see the price tag at first but the science is real and the quality is unmatched.
