It's more fascinating watching the scene where thawne is trying to convince Barry to go back and save his mom now. Because thawne knows what happens when you mess with time, so it seems like he's giving Barry a chance to get what he wants, but in reality it's his one last attempt to screw Barry over before going home
It really is very clever and just awsome , the show used to be soooooo good , now it's too much crap, I miss it when flash was one of the best tv shows. But that's my opinion , what do you think??
I don't know about reverse flash I like villainous flash better because I made that name before we knew his name was reverse flash. I made the name in the second episode and I was suspicious of dr wells from ep 1

I love how you can tell eobards wells apart from the original by their voices. When Thawne is wells his voice sounds so cold and kinda like a whispering tone while the originals voice just sounds like regular wells.
I’m just realizing, Thawne genuinely thought that Barry could go back and fix things with no issue. He didn’t know that the timeline had fully set, and that now he was an essential part of Barry’s origin that could NOT be changed. He created a fixed point similar to the one he protected decades later
He's an alternate version of the OG flash from season 1, then in the same season he goes back in time only for a day if I remember correctly, messes with time during the day he time traveled and he proceeds to travel back in time to save nora, twice. And then there's savitar, my god barry is complex

So Thawne thought that what if he killed Barry's mother instead it would break Barry just as much as realizing he cant be the flash did. So Thawne did what he had to do to win. So dont blame Bardy for alternating the timeline, Thawne did it first. I like Thawne because he proves that jealously and hate can drive one so far. Also he says his goals are beyond our understanding but i understand him. Thawne quoutes: "My goals are beyond your understanding". "Oh im not like the flash at all, some would say im the reverse".

I really like eobard thawne, I feel I am obsessed with his cool personality but I only felt bad when he killed wells. Baraka Hyera when he dies there is still a speed force but thawne has his own speed force called the negative speed force that he can use but even if Barry died and so did the speed force which doesn’t happen he could still use his speed force to get back but he lost his speed and had to use the wheelchair as a booster
what Christopher said is also right but there is a catch , the origin story of thawne getting speed is beacuse the flash exisited , thawne used flash's suit and experimented and got his powers , so if eobard succeeded in killing kid barry then there would be no flash and since no flash no experiment so he would actually create a flash point , a new time line where eobard is the only speedster and no flash.
Actually I agree with everyone's theory but I think ( In the most simple way) Everyone wanted to be a speedster because of flash, if flash does not exist, no inspiration for everybody including eobard to become a speedster, no rivalry, no reverse flash so ultimately if he had killed barry, he would have never existed. I know that he said the negative speed force prevents timeline changes but eobard died because of eddie in flash s1. Plus nobody will attempt to make a speedster since speedsters does not exist in that timeline, So eobard will probably be like lex luthor trying to destroy some aliens and crap. And bonus Zoom would have never came to earth, savitar does not exist, deVoe will be a normal professor, no god speed, no (that lady that can control mirror in s6), no firestorm, no bull crap just a normal city.

Eobard loses his connection to his speedforce when he travels back in time to kill Barry's mom and gets stuck in that time and the only way he can return to his time is by time travel and that is possible only usind a speedster , i.e Barry the flash

What could happen if reversed flash succeeded killing young Barry without future Barry traveling back in time....how would Eobard travel back to his time because without Barry there is no speedforce????
Baraka Hyera when he dies there is still a speed force but thawne has his own speed force called the negative speed force that he can use but even if Barry died and so did the speed force which doesn’t happen he could still use his speed force to get back but he lost his speed and had to use the wheelchair as a booster

what Christopher said is also right but there is a catch , the origin story of thawne getting speed is beacuse the flash exisited , thawne used flash's suit and experimented and got his powers , so if eobard succeeded in killing kid barry then there would be no flash and since no flash no experiment so he would actually create a flash point , a new time line where eobard is the only speedster and no flash.
Actually I agree with everyone's theory but I think ( In the most simple way) Everyone wanted to be a speedster because of flash, if flash does not exist, no inspiration for everybody including eobard to become a speedster, no rivalry, no reverse flash so ultimately if he had killed barry, he would have never existed. I know that he said the negative speed force prevents timeline changes but eobard died because of eddie in flash s1. Plus nobody will attempt to make a speedster since speedsters does not exist in that timeline, So eobard will probably be like lex luthor trying to destroy some aliens and crap. And bonus Zoom would have never came to earth, savitar does not exist, deVoe will be a normal professor, no god speed, no (that lady that can control mirror in s6), no firestorm, no bull crap just a normal city.

The Flash museum exists, plus Flash travelled to the future and they met. Eobard and Barry were always meant to be enemies, so it happened.
