  • I bought an portable monitor that's a bit different from most. This one is smaller at 13.3 inches, has a 2560x1600 resolution, 100% sRGB, and two fully functional USB-C ports. It's not all good though so here's my review.

      Not in the settings on the monitor, but your device might have that option. Windows, mac, and even phones have specific apps you can use for teleprompter purposes which should work well.

    Thanks for this review! I'm not sure the washed out appearance is the fault of the screen. My old PS4 and now PS5 create a washed out look on my Sony LCD TV too. I prefer to play without HDR, because the image is so much more vibrant as you say.

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  2 года назад +1

      I’ve read that some TVs and monitors put HDR capability in without having the brightness to support it just so they can advertise it as HDR. It had the same washed out look connected to my laptop with HDR mode on so it’s not only the PlayStations.

    Hey there! Thank you for your awesome review. I have the same monitor and I can't get 2k to work when connected via HDMI (the one that came along with the box) to my laptop. The highest resolution I can see is 1080p. Know why?

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  Год назад +1

      It could be a lot of things, but most likely it’s the laptop gpu not able to output at that resolution. Sometimes a simple driver update can enable more resolutions. If it’s a really old laptop 1080p might be the max too.

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  2 года назад +1

      Yup. I think it’s just so they can put on the specs and advertise HDR capability knowing most people won’t use it. I think this applies to most of these no name portable monitors from China. Still looks nice without HDR though.

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  2 года назад +1

      Well, these are usually ok if you keep your expectations low. Some might not be as bright as they claim or HDR doesn’t work or maybe the colors won’t be as nice, but they still work as a monitor. If you were to get a name brand 4K monitor it’ll probably cost you at least twice as much. So it’s really what’s important to you and what you’re looking for.

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  2 года назад

      Most phones don’t support external displays so it could be that. As for the Switch it can be a bit finicky. My monitor needed to be plugged in with the included power adapter, the switch needs to be in sleep mode before plugging in, and it needed a wireless controller (or use the joycons detached). When I woke up the Switch with my controller the Switch screen stayed off and the monitor displayed.

    Great vedio but you have to plug the moniter in using the power brick to get full brightness and the hdr to work better I'm not sure about the hdr but I know you'll see a significant change in brightness while using the power brick

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  2 года назад +3

      I would have thought that was the case too, but this particular monitor can’t be connected to the power brick and use a usb c connection for the display at the same time. For some reason it’ll disconnect from the computer.
      It does require the power brick for the HDMI connection though since HDMI doesn’t provide power. I’ve tried comparing the brightness between the HDMI and the single USB c connection and I didn’t notice a brightness difference even though HDMI used the power brick.

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  2 года назад +1

      The charger works because it powers it when using HDMI. It’s only a 15 watt charger so I think when using a usb c connection it takes the power from the device. Does your monitor behave differently? I think for this one since both usb c ports are full featured and it doesn’t have a dedicated power only port it’s designed to take power from the output device. I didn’t show an example in the video, but I can have two usb c devices connected and switch between them.

    4K is 3840
    What is 2K then? Yeah I guess 2560. No it is not.
    I can't bear with that nonsense, seriously. And people mindlessly repeating it everywhere. I guess feeling based people do not think about if it makes sense what they say and it is more important for them to be in line with others doing it wrong instead of doing it right.
    There is no such thing as 2K screens. The name was used by noobs after 4K became a thing only, not before. And other noobs copy it constantly. If you define 3840 as 4K, by nature of logics 2560 cannot be 2K anymore. You can name that 2K if you change the name of 3840 to something else. These rules apply anytime and at any place in the universe, no matter if you think it is cool to copy the name from others doing it wrong or not.
    Technically this is a 2K+2/3K screen = 2,66K screen.
    2K is Full HD however as 2K = 4K divided by 2, according to laws of math.
    Anyway good review.

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  2 года назад

      You’re totally right of course if you look at 4K and 2K and their respective resolutions as numbers. However, in these cases I think they’ve become nothing more than names to describe certain technologies in an easier manner. Almost in the vein that someone named Christopher may go as Chris just to keep things easier for people.
      It seems the TV/monitor groups like to use two character combinations from SD to HD to 4K and soon 8K so naturally there will be something for a popular resolutions in between and in this case 2K fits as well as any other I guess.

    • @jackshit1723
