Which LED bulbs did you use after the editing of the climate control panel where they T5 or T3 bulbs I'm trying to upgrade my Toyota corolla 2007 please send me the info?
Bro you just save me from making mistakes! I have upgraded every light on my car to LED except the AC control unit cause I never understood what lights were those! Thanks bro
I have been searching for those dumb climate control bulbs for years and almost gave up. Then, I stumbled on your video! Finally I can replace them! They aren't even listed on Toyota's parts diagram exploder.
Wow, this video was very helpful, I watched other videos that covered replacing the bulb in the automatic shifter, and those videos wanted you to remove the entire center console to gain access to the light from the bottom of the shifter, I had no idea I could just take the fascia off the shifter and take the bulb out that way, this is a huge time saver
I’m glad you found the video helpful, yeah I never knew why people always took so much apart to service the gear selector bulb, this way is much easier!
Had this gen Corolla as my first car. I didn’t even know it had a sunroof option. Loved the car! Gave so much good memories. And took a good beating from a Teenage me VERY well lol.
My fog lights have been out for years on my ‘07 corolla and your videos inspired me to finally change them and i went with the yellow LEDs. They look super clean with new LED low and high beam lights! Thanks for your vids brotha! 🤙🏽
yo if youre low & highbeam LEDs are still working good after ten months could you let me know which ones they are, im having a really hard time picking some good ones out lol
Awesome - thank you. About the HVAC bulbs - buy the 10 pack. You'll drop some, you might even break some. The slots on the back of the ones in the link aren't deep enough for a screwdriver - tweezers in holes in the back worked for rotating them into place. Also your instructions for the shifter bulb are several steps simpler than other videos I saw. 5 stars.
Thanks for the vid Will, the other vid you did in the past on LED conversion was also good but this one showed variations that I feel are important to know since ordering the proper bulbs to begin with can be somewhat trivial. I wasted $ the first time and wished this new vid was up then lol. Great content, go 9th gens!
There is another light in the back of the ashtray. Also, there is one in the clock. Both are T5 bulbs. Want to do the radio/disc player but haven't had time yet. I found the 'new' T5 LED are brighter than the old bulbs.
I just changed all my exterior lights to LED’s (except for the brake lights) and my 08 Corolla LE puts a big smile on my face whenever I’m following it and kinda makes my eyes bleed when I’m in front of it. I might have to swap out the headlights with something less bright. I bought the same turn signals listed in the description instead of getting ones with load resistors cuz I thought changing the Flasher Relay would be sorta easy but it’s really not compared to the video. I might get some professional help but I’m not sure atm cuz I’m always at work. But either way, thanks for the awesome helpful video Will!
Glad you found the video helpful and I'm glad you're enjoying your new lights! I guess I found the relay easier to swap because I've done it before but either way if you get professional help they should be able to finish it quickly!
Thank you for showing the flasher relay location and including the amazon link, you really helped me. I had the hyper blink going on for like a week and couldn't stand it... this was super easy to do, except pulling 2 tabs and pushing down another tab with only 2 hands in a tiny compartment was not fun 🤣You said it was hard to get the stock one out, but at one point I had it unlatched (not sure how) and then stupidly clicked it back into place by accident. If you can unlatch the stock one from it's spot, you can definitely get a better view and grip on those tabs.
For the hazard switch (for a different car) I used very thin aluminum tape strips on the inside of the button to reflect the light better and it's a MAJOR difference. I recommend trying that
Great job, i had been searching on this how to change those dummy bulbs and fix that stupid clock for years... stumbled on your video what a great find... thanks to you for sharing...
IMPORTANT INFO: If your dash speedo/cluster lights are not working check your Tail light fuse!, i was working on installing a new stereo and my heater control lights were flickering and i noticed the controls had snapped where the bulbs are this shorted out when i touched it causing my fuse to blow and turned off my cluster lights, after mass amounts of searching i found out the cluster and tail light fuse are on the same connection. In the UK my corollas tail fuse was hidden behind the glovebox up the top on the USA models i think it hidden behind the little cubby flap, great video 👌🏻
You can fix the clock all u have to do is take it apart and heat up the resistors with a soldering gun just a lil bit and It did work for mine Good luck I’ve been watching your videos huge fan here keep it going
Me deciding interior or exterior first when it's freezing: Heads Interior, Tails Exterior. "Hey Siri, flip a coin" Siri: "It's Tails.' "...Flip again."
I did LED in my dome (interior light) and it’s a nice shade of white light, but it’s not bright enough for literally anything. The two in the mirror were the ones I planned next, but if they are anything like the dome light, I won’t change em. I did my headlights (dim/low beam) with some LEDs from Amazon, and they are amazing! So clean and bright, I replaced them due to current draw. Halogen draws much more current than LEDs, and I save on power reserves for audio any time I can. That said, your 07 Carolla LE is basically the same car as mine, I thought I’d let u know, if u ever decide to do a stereo system, something about the trunks on those cars do great for the sound of subwoofers. Man I loved your video, I have a Corolla 2000, I wonder if it's the same LED lights. Anyways, this video it's going to be super helpful as I'm going to change all my interior lights on the following days. Thanks
Hey man just want to say thanks! I watched your other video and got the lights you put in the description. I changed all of them except the map lights 😅 tried to take the bulbs out and i couldn’t
The map lights are a pit of a pain to remove, I think I ended up using a flathead screwdriver to pry mine out but I did shatter one. Thanks for your comment!
I have never seen such a kitbash collection of analog bulb types. 205x,315x and 744X. I've had to do bulb swaps so much it's sick...the current car needed a full set of eight exterior bulbs swapped due to old age burnout alone, headlights included. a cr-v ended up not only having 168's solid in the entire taillight setup, but apparently, someone didn't know the front turn markers were supposed to be lit. I also pulled three uncased LEDs out of it that had been touched enough to rub the coating off. another quirk I rin into is a lot of parking lights on Japanese and other foreign built automatically use the regular clear bulbs, which I promptly switch to NAs
Very interesting, you explained everything a person needs to know. Have you replaced any other LEDs on any other vehicles, like a Lexus LS 400, or a 2014 Town and Country???
Been looking all night for that courtesy map bulb you first showed. Couldn’t find any thing. Until your great video. Where the heck can I get a led. Want a white one. What is the number? Great stuff here. Thanks
About the red color, actually it's good for a third reason: At night, your pupils get used to lesser light, and it's easier for you & frankly more comfortable to look for things in red light and then looking back at the road, your pupils won't shrink as much -due to white light- and you'll be able to see the darker areas much better
Pro tip to anyone having trouble with their license plate lights like mine. as mine were never removed since they were made. Use silicone Lube or just getting a good angle and some pliers, but of course don't break the bulb socket
thanks for this guide, crazy my 03 owner manual says not to install the license plate lights and says only take it to the dealer and doesn't show any pictures like the rest of the lights
Glad you found it helpful! I haven't replaced lights for the gauge cluster, I've got the optitron cluster which I believe doesn't have replaceable lights like the standard gauge cluster
the hazard switch is probably dim because you used a white bulb. cold white LEDs don't have much red in them so they end up looking dim behind a red cover. possibly installing a red LED would make it brighter.
Awesome vid. I was able to change all my bulbs with the link purchases from Amazon. However I decided I wanted to go a step further and change my cluster bulbs and what do you know I can't seem to locate the bulbs on my 2004 Toyota Corolla. On my older Corolla. All bulbs were visible and a 45⁰ turn and it popped out and was replaced. But then newer models seem a challenge. Have you ever been able to change your cluster lights on say a 2003 and up Corolla
I have a 2003, and I bought the bulbs in the description, and they don't fit that Hvac controls at all, not even close. So I'm not sure how you got them to fit, but I have to keep searching.
I wish you had a video on how to convert manual windows to power windows for oem look (not aftermarker switches). I want to go to a jumkyard and get the panel and motor but im not sure what else id need to do. I gifted my parents their dream truck and my mom gave me her old 05 corolla to save gas since I daily drive an SRT8 and a Tahoe 😅. So the Corolla has sentimental value to me i just want to turn it into a nice comfy ride
Does having LED instead of the factory bulbs require you to eventually get a better battery ?. Like will it drain more power than regular bulb? I got a 2005 Ce and I bought the same leds u suggested ima try them out tonight
i've gone through a few of the corolla clocks, what breaks them is that they are plastic with metal circuits, as the plastic heats up it disconnects the soldering. You can re solder your cars clock every summer, but it's a lotta work for nuthin. I enjoy soldering practice, and you can get a lot of the clocks for really cheap from junk yards I'm trying to come up with something to do with that part of the console but am looking for ideas too. thanks for this tutorial, I'm only buying the pink/purple variants of these bulbs and am about to have the stupidest looking car ever,
How hot is it where you live? I live in Trinidad it gets about 40 degrees Celsius every day here my clock has never stopped working I have an Altis which has a slightly different design so maybe it also has a different circuit
@@WillChang Other interesting things about the 03/04 sub year, is that for 05 - 08 models, they had better seats with improved support. Last, as most people know, the 03-04 front spoiler was different (05-08 had spoiler face lift).
@@Pallidus_RiderHere in the Philippines the fog lights bulb is H3 also, and I think H11 is more easy to fit an LED bulb because H3 LED is bulky and can bend or destroy the metal clip.
@@WillChangBro I just wonder If your xrs can fit BILSTEIN shocks? I wanted to out that brand in my corolla 2006 here in the philippines cause we have the same looks and maybe parts also except our engine here are 1zz and 3zz (1.6) with 4holes stud wheels Thats the mods I wish i could make for my corolla, change to 5x100 so I can put BBK and bilstein if its not fit with our models here, and do you have junkyard or surplus shop there to buy XRS ceiling with lights and sunroof we dont have SR here the only way to put is the aftermarket WEBASTO sunroof Thats why Im asking if theres pre owned parts I need for the ceiling. I followed this tutorial and now all my interior lights are pink. I also got the center console from the scion TC from a junkyard like you suggested In another video. You've created a monster. A ugly pink monster
These lights can come in a bunch of different colors, perhaps the company sent pink lights instead of the color you wanted. I would contact them and tell them that you received the incorrect bulbs. I'm also unaware how this is my fault lol. Given that it is April 1st though, please do let me know if this is a joke as it's hard to tell through text sometimes.
@@WillChang oh no I actively searched for pink lights I wanted it this way. I just am aware of the fact that I have bad taste and it is ugly. But its my beautiful ugly monster. Sorry for the confusion I wasn't blaming you for a misfortune I was thanking you for a great tutorial to allow my bad taste to flourish
Hey Will, I really appreciated this video. I do have a question- I installed LED headlight bulbs of moderate to semi high quality and one daytime running light flickers a tad until you actually turn the headlights on and then it stops. Any ideas as to what’s going on ? Thanks buddy
Didn't check to see if anyone responded with this, but the clock display has poor solder. You can either re-solder the back of the display and sometimes just heat it (but if you're gonna bother going as far to get to it, may as well apply more solder). In some cases, on a super hot day in a dark colored corolla, that's why the clock tends to work, seriously lol. At times the dome won't work regardless. Usually that's the switch not contacting the plate unless you push and hold it. That's a relatively easy, finaggle-something fix.
Just wondering if you have a video on third brake lights. My one is 2005 S and it seems I have the housing but dont know how to put bulb in there. also not sure if there is any line for the bulbs.
Aloha man, I got a question about the 3rd brake light on the 9th gen S. Do you have to replace the whole housing or is it just a bulb? And did you replace yours also 🤙🏽
I have a 2008 for some weird reason the cluster lights and parking lights wont turn on when the daylight lights turn on. I dont know if it is a relay or the car alarm.
Just followed your video and replaced my HVAC and gear shifter bulbs! Everything went smoothly but man were those climate control LEDs a b*tch to get in 😅
I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla for some reason my center dome light keeps flickering it is control by the dimmer switch on the left side of the steering wheel
is the link about for hvac bulbs the correct link? I know the first bulbs where not? I want to order them... also I notice you saying you have to put them in right to work. does something plug into the bulbs?
Yep all the links for all the bulbs are correct, the hvac bulbs are T4.2. You won’t need any special plug or anything to make them work, leds are polarity sensitive so they need to be installed with the correct polarity otherwise they won’t turn on. If the bulbs don’t work at first, you can rotate the bulbs again so they make contact with the other side of the metal in the socket. I hope that made sense, easier to show what I mean instead of typing words
Take a shot every time I say "pop" lol. Didn't realize how much I said it during recording, sorry if it gets a tad annoying!

Ah that’s makes more sense, glad it’s cleared up! My bad for the misunderstanding lol
i got the same taillights but i got a question if the brake light goes out how can i replace it?
Hello, good video, very practical.
Hey Will, I really appreciated this video. I do have a question- I installed LED headlight bulbs of moderate to semi high quality and one daytime running light flickers a tad until you actually turn the headlights on and then it stops. Any ideas as to what’s going on ? Thanks buddy
Can you do Glove box light ?
Where did you get that speedometer or how you customize to look alike yours
why red though? if you want to find something in your car dont you want it to be bright white?
2:41 he says it in the video
Didn't check to see if anyone responded with this, but the clock display has poor solder. You can either re-solder the back of the display and sometimes just heat it (but if you're gonna bother going as far to get to it, may as well apply more solder). In some cases, on a super hot day in a dark colored corolla, that's why the clock tends to work, seriously lol. At times the dome won't work regardless. Usually that's the switch not contacting the plate unless you push and hold it. That's a relatively easy, finaggle-something fix.
Yep, I have heard of the clock solder issue, I plan on doing a video on that fix some time soon!
What about the 3rd break light in the spoiler?
Just wondering if you have a video on third brake lights. My one is 2005 S and it seems I have the housing but dont know how to put bulb in there. also not sure if there is any line for the bulbs.
Aloha man, I got a question about the 3rd brake light on the 9th gen S. Do you have to replace the whole housing or is it just a bulb? And did you replace yours also 🤙🏽
Great tips thanks👍
Glad you found it helpful!
Is the hvac bulbs you have linked accurate? Cause I will order those. Thanks .
I have a 2008 for some weird reason the cluster lights and parking lights wont turn on when the daylight lights turn on. I dont know if it is a relay or the car alarm.
Hey man I got a Corolla as well where’d you get the interior black panel by the shifter or do you know where I can purchase one at
Just followed your video and replaced my HVAC and gear shifter bulbs! Everything went smoothly but man were those climate control LEDs a b*tch to get in 😅
do you know of a decent quality, decent budget low beam LED thats got good cooling for the 9th gen corollas?
is the boss carplay screen good? i was looking to buy something that looks exactly like your
Thank you so muchhhh I love you corolla vids
Glad you enjoy them, thanks for your support!
I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla for some reason my center dome light keeps flickering it is control by the dimmer switch on the left side of the steering wheel
Hello, Which model of led light use for the gauges?
is the link about for hvac bulbs the correct link?
I know the first bulbs where not? I want to order them... also I notice you saying you have to put them in right to work. does something plug into the bulbs?
Yep all the links for all the bulbs are correct, the hvac bulbs are T4.2. You won’t need any special plug or anything to make them work, leds are polarity sensitive so they need to be installed with the correct polarity otherwise they won’t turn on. If the bulbs don’t work at first, you can rotate the bulbs again so they make contact with the other side of the metal in the socket. I hope that made sense, easier to show what I mean instead of typing words
@@WillChang did you have to turn a certain way for them to turn on? I saw that a couple try’s they didn’t work?
I did an led video a few years back but didn't explain and show how i did it but this video should help mine is more DIY
