Double din. Radios are the best way to go with a Toyota Corolla. It gives it a very clean look not the regular blue to really use double din definitely

Does this wiring harness work for the 6 speaker corolla (the one with tweeters)?
In case I haven't upgraded any of the audio, should I do any of the wiring?
Would love a follow up for where and how to connect the light green parking brake wire on this same model year. It is required for most modern stereos.
If you want to legitimately hook it up, light green wire needs to go to the parking brake ground wire located in the center console. IF not, most brands (besides Pioneer and Alpine) can be just simply grounded.

Hi PB, the new Metra mounting brackets you used do not have the 4 top and bottom fingers fitted on the original cage, that snap into the front grille assembly, do you find the radio and grille assembly are free of any vibration or rattles without them ? Also an you say if those Metra brackets are metal or plastic, was thinking of 3D printing some ?

I would like to ask, I have a problem with an 05 Toyota Corolla. I have installed a double din kenwood stereo touchscreen. I think I’ve wired everything correctly but ran into some issues!
1. My key fob stopped working
2. In order to use internal lights I need to turn the ignition on (not all the way) in order to have internal lights on
3. The beep when I have the keys in the ignition doesn’t work anymore.
I’ve tried looking for help any chance ore suggestions you can tell me or can anyone help?.

I don't have the mounting screws for bracket that came with the aftermarket radio. Does the original radio mounting screws fit the aftermarket radio ?
I notice that some sources state I'll need to run a wire from the harness to the E-brake line; could you explain what purpose this is for as well as why in this instance you didn't need to do that?

I don’t think you will be able too, but the factory wires, can you tell me what each wire color means on the factory radio wire harness having a hard time to splice my amp remote wire into it I’m thinking it’s the grey wire

There are. Just depends on the brand of radio. You can find readymade harnesses on Amazon depending on the radio you want installed

The radio you installed does not have a CD player. That is our primary use of the car audio (2007 Corolla). What would you recommend as a replacement that includes a CD player?

Will anything bad happen if you do drop a screw down there and lose it?
The big plastic faceplate with the knobs wont come out from the top even with the screw removed
Turns out it was because of the big plastic thing that switches from air from outside and and from inside, you have to pull the faceplate out and push the switch in
Do you have any suggestion of a better radio to use? possibly one that has wireless carplay if it exists?

What antenna adapter did you use?
After color matching, I was left with 3 wires, a pink one, brown one, and like peach and black?
Also how did you get the blue wire out? It is looped into the same plug it is comming out of...
Are those three wires from the radio side? If so, check with the manufacture to see what those radio wires are. We didn't have a loop of a blue wire, just keep it in place.
What is the size of the new 2 din? 7inches?

So I bought the same exact radio and brackets as yours, did you have to drill thru the bracket to put the screws in?
Yes, this cheap Chinese radio doesn't have standard mounting locations, so you will really have to modify the bracket to make it work.

If you don't have JBL, you will only need the Metra 70-1761. If you do have JBL, you will need to Axxess TYTO-01. You don't need both, only one or the other based on your factory audio system.
I also recommend a better radio as this one isn't a great fit in that dash kit. We suggest one without a volume knob. Planet Audio makes a great unit that is still budget friendly: amzn.to/3C5PQp8

The aftermarket radio is better than the factory touchscreen Apple CarPlay that’s what’s up. It makes the car look better. You know what I’m saying Toyota Corolla let’s hit the streets.
I get confused when you start matching the colors. After you’re done you’re left with light pink, brown and orange. Then you’re done wrapping and that light pink is out still but now you have a blue too and not the brown or orange. Can you plz explain

I have 7 inch stereo for 2007 Toyota Corolla ce but the metra dash kit won’t fit
I have 2 issues.
1. The stereo won't come on automatically on ignition. I have to power it on manually. Can this be fixed?
2. The stereo doesn't seem to retain memory of any items. Once the car is powered down and back, it loses all settings including set time.
can you tell all the tools you used? especially that one you used to unscrew/screw the radio?
Panel removal tool, 10mm Socket and ratchet, channel lock crimpers, wire strippers, etc.
Did you use the facia from thr original unit or buy an adapter to get the stereo to fit back it the gap?

Nope. Any standard double din radio will fit with the dash kit linked. .

Don't trust amazon, go to metra's website directly and verify your vehicle fit.
After installing dash lights dont go on when turning car on. is it because it takes more power than the stocks and I have to get a stronger battery?
Nope, but sounds like you have created a short or blown a fuse. Also could be that a harness wasn’t fully connected.

Yes, you need the JBL harness also linked in the description.
Is there a way to do this without having to heat gun or solder wires?
Use electrical tape
Did you drill out holes on the brackets?
For this radio, yeah we had to do some pretty extensive adjustments to hold it in the bracket. Most standard double din fit fine, this radio was a bit of a pain.
Thank you, I have the same radio and it functions just fine but the volume button is in the way of the dash kit and there is a half-inch gap between the bottom bezel and the radio
You left out the most important details. Where the holes are that you had to drill out to make the brackets work
This is a cheap Chinese no-name radio. Any regular branded radio will not require any bracket modification. Get a decent radio and you will be just fine.
So my car doesn’t have the wiring harness do you know if I was to get a aux connector and install it would it still play music ?
Aux connector to what? The OEM radio, or right to the speakers? What do you mean it doesn't have the wiring harness?

Depends on the radio, yes. Most radios the parking brake can just be grounded (outside of pioneer and alpine)

@@ProvoBeastAudio I installed this all now and it works, except it has zero bass and it had plenty of bass with the stock stereo. Do you know what could be the problem? My only guess is that my $25 dual stereo from Walmart is junk, but I didn’t expect it to sound worse than the stock stereo.

I hate tesa tape would rather use electrical tape.. every time i used tesa tape it turns to a goopy mess, and gets its b lack smudges everwhere, sticks to your fingers.. never again.
Use high temp tesa tape. Electrical tape also leaves a mess.
