I think with streaming becoming more dominant, there's less incentive to make a programming block feel like a home or an event. Things like these commercials rewarded watching the entire broadcast and staying on that channel instead of changing. Kids channels just tried a lot harder to keep attention during commercials and theming, to point it still has a lasting impact on those who watched it.

Some great voice actors there. There were even others that also voiced characters of the opposite gender from the actor in other shows as well and ended up being many people's favorite characters.
Yeah Sean Schemmel did a lot of aditional voices for both. his standouts were certainly Archie , Cyrus & Lucario in pokemon But on the Yugioh side my favorites have to be Crowler & Ojama yellow, i could'nt even tell that was him till i looked it up, lol

ngl if Atem were in the Pokemon World, he would be a very balanced trainer, using even the weakest Pokemon in ways not even the professors or his own Pokemon thought were possible. Like how he uses Kariboh.
There was a *Tips & Tricks* short that featured _James from Team Rocket_ where they talk about all the gear you need to play _Yu-Gi-Oh!_ such as: Deck Duel Disk (Battle City) Millennium Items Other Duel Disk Hair & *a Neck Belt* haven't been able to find it since
I actually do love there was a moment of a crossover and I remember so many of these Cartoons! I grew up with them and rewatched them not long ago like Jackie Chan, obviously Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and Static Shock, etc. If I was a Pokemon Trainer, my favorite would be the Red-Eyes Black Dragon!
"I PLAY CHARIZARD!" ... kinda reminds me of schoolyard duels, where you'd end up with decks of whatever cards happened to be at the bottom of someone's bag.
i know a lot of these shows from back then were still just glorified toy commercials, but man do i miss them. kids media feels so much more insincere today…
I think there's definitely an aspect of Saturday Mornings that contributes to feeling, because if you didn't have cable, you couldn't just watch whatever whenever. Even the commercials were entertainment.
Woooow, thanks for the throwback. Used to watch WB every Saturday morning when I was a kid. Also, vitiated the Warner Bros studios in CA just before the pandemic. Crazy to see the water tower, all the props, and even buildings used as far back as the 60s Batman settings.
These road trips give me vibes from a modded GTA san andreas cutscene, where people also tend to stuff as many fictional characters from different IP's as possible.
Between the two, I'd say Yugi is superior. Not only does he have the Puzzle that tilts challenges in his favor, he's better at thinking on his feet against opponents he doesn't know about beforehand. Whereas Ash typically battles trainers he's seen before and can try again if he loses.
Ah, the days without cable or streaming services. When I was younger, I remember seeing these and getting so excited when the characters from my favorite shows would interact with each other. Such good times.
Saturday Morning Anime Dub fans like to compare and contest Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! but only a low portion of both fan bases know that Ash and Bakura have the same voice actress in Japanese.

This was a good find, as I fondly remembered these crossovers more from the Kids wb era.
Also kind of funny, Kids WB making good crossover content to air on the weekends, while the dub holders were also their competitors, airing their licensed stuff on Fox.
I legitimately had no idea these bumpers existed, what a gem.
Yugi: Dark magician dark magic attack!
Ash: Dodge it Pikachu!
Yugi: wtf? There's no dodge card?!
Ash: ?? Just tell them to do it.
Yugi: but you have to play a card to do moves!
Ash: but you pull that shit all the time!
Yugi:..........fair enough.
You should make a video about all the pokemon that have had their designs changed in scarlet and violet. Some pokemon look so nice in the game like forretress and tropius. Also how the sky battle pokemon sprites are finally gone and so many pokemon have actually stand on the ground now
Yugi trying to teach Duel Monsters to Ash who's playing Pokémon TCG can only end so well lol.
Well, that answers the debate between Ash vs Yugi. Now both fandoms can rest.
this is awesome! i loved the WB Kids sweepstakes when i was younger. i think the shirt had yugi and scooby hanging out the left side, ash and pikachu on the right side, and then i can't tell who is in the middle of them all looks like a woman with long hair.
i remember winning the first scooby doo movie on dvd from one of them! then i remember one for yugioh that i for the life of me cannot find any trace of on the internet, but it was one where the grand prize was a chance to have a "duel simulator" sent to your house and a duel tournament held for you and your friends. i wanted to win that one so bad
so many childhood memories. being a kid in the late 90s and early 2000s was a great time :)
5:20 Ash did a duel with a card containing the children's souls.
This is the Dark Card Duel
I absolutely loved the charizard bit, it's so in character of ash to abandon all strategy and brute force his way.
All these old clips are bringing me back to times I completely forgot about just WOW dude I'm having a nostalgic overload
If I ever see Ash Katchum having a Yugioh battle with Scooby-Doo, I could say I've seen it all
Some great voice actors there. There were even others that also voiced characters of the opposite gender from the actor in other shows as well and ended up being many people's favorite characters.
Sean Schemmel also voiced in a lot of English dubs of both Pokémon & Yu-Gi-Oh!
Oh yeah right
Yeah Sean Schemmel did a lot of aditional voices for both.
his standouts were certainly Archie , Cyrus & Lucario in pokemon
But on the Yugioh side my favorites have to be Crowler & Ojama yellow,
i could'nt even tell that was him till i looked it up, lol
I forgot about these. I used to get up early in the morning to watch Yu-Gi-Oh on Sunday but I would watch all these other random shows too. definitely takes me back
Ah the old KidsWB of the early 2000s
Fun times when we we're still young back in the days
This hit me with so much nostalgia I teared up! I could not go a Saturday morning without watching Pokemon, Digimon but that was on another channel, and Yu-Gi-Oh. I give massive props to those three and sailor moon the dic dub, for getting me into anime even tho I didn't know it was anime. I remember all those bumpers, and wanting to win that shirt so bad!!
5:30 WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video! I can't lie, I laughed out loud while cooking dinner at the end of the video when you talked about the video being a collaboration with 2 other account, both of which are run by you 😂😂😂😂I love the enthusiasm my dude! Plus like I said, I very much enjoyed the video, it definitely unlocked some forgotten memories I had from Saturday morning cartoons when I was a child, thanks for that! You've got yourself a new subscriber, I'm about to check out your other videos!
ngl if Atem were in the Pokemon World, he would be a very balanced trainer, using even the weakest Pokemon in ways not even the professors or his own Pokemon thought were possible. Like how he uses Kariboh.
So... cheating?
he would absolutely use the level one aggron strat
@@toastthedragon777 I prefer F.E.A.R.
There was a *Tips & Tricks* short that featured _James from Team Rocket_ where they talk about all the gear you need to play _Yu-Gi-Oh!_ such as: Deck
Duel Disk (Battle City)
Millennium Items
Other Duel Disk
Hair
& *a Neck Belt*
haven't been able to find it since
I actually do love there was a moment of a crossover and I remember so many of these Cartoons!
@@GatorEX it was the weekly super bowl for kids,
A sacred event
Woooow, thanks for the throwback. Used to watch WB every Saturday morning when I was a kid. Also, vitiated the Warner Bros studios in CA just before the pandemic. Crazy to see the water tower, all the props, and even buildings used as far back as the 60s Batman settings.
Zamn, the early 2000s must of been wild
It makes for some of the best out of context memes. 😂
Oh Dakoem, as someone who grew up in that period... You Have No Idea.
Kingdom hearts is the most ambitious crossover series!
Kids WB: Hold my juice.
The idea of cards unleashing high pitched screams has to be some sort of torture that needs to be banned right now.
I really need that kidz WB crossover shirt now
i never enjoyed 4KIDS but i'll give them credit for this hilarious crossover
This was done by kids wb before 4kids bought it
Broooo, this brings back so many memories! Thanks, my guy!
I see pouring gasoline was always a tactic and made by Ash
Ah, the days without cable or streaming services. When I was younger, I remember seeing these and getting so excited when the characters from my favorite shows would interact with each other. Such good times.
Wait this happened
Yep, Kids WB did these alot back then
SCREW THE RULES; I'M IN LOVE WITH NURSE JOY
And now both animes are retired
Yeah! I miss Ash Ketchum & Yugi Muto!
So much of my childhood came from this!
What I want to see is a separate Pokémon anime focused completely on the TCG with a Yugioh feel!
Saturday Morning Anime Dub fans like to compare and contest Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! but only a low portion of both fan bases know that Ash and Bakura have the same voice actress in Japanese.
No way
Rica does such an impressive job, lol. A popular meme in Japan is throwing Yami Bakura lines over Ash's whenever the latter gets upset or possessed, haha.
5:55 _"Wow, both of these anime have different Power scaling. What a surprise"_
Yup, Death Battle's gonna drop the ball HARD if they ever do this.
Man, this brought memories. Thanks for this.
3:13 So that how the shadow realm looks like on christmas, purple and all.
That's the inside of the water tower
If it wasn't for 4kids , I would have never been blessed to hear the epic intro for both shows
Bro you just reminded me of my childhood. A sub, like and bell icon you have earned.
