Hello my friend! Such good news regarding your living accomadation. Having a sound and secure future in the most beautiful part of England must be heart-warming and I can think of nobody who deserves it more. Over the years you have brought such humour and pleasure to our lives with your great little videos and the music enhances these films so much. So a big thank you and good luck for the next twenty years!
Really nice walk Patrick ,so glad that your move went well and that you are happy there . You and I are about the same age and I understand how you feel about not having to move again . Tthe good thing is that now you can get back to making great videos.
Many thanks Bill, yes it's such a relief now to be in my new home, which is lovely too. Lots of stuff I can get on with now, as well as making videos 👍
Great walks Patrick always watch your adventures especially the ones where you end up in a local pub & when you were on the dating agency was very amusing , but very sorry you have had a bad experience with landlords as they are a lot of decent ones out there & in turn lots of bad tenants all the best in your new place
Thanks Will. I've been farily lucky with most of my landlords, but it's just that you're over a barrel with them and I didn't want that feeling of uncertainty as i get older. Cheaper rent now too. All the best 👍
Great video Patrick .. glad too hear about yr settled move. . Hope you'll be happy there . Bringing us yr well appreciated walks. Best of luck regards Ali x
Back with you for sarnie time! Nothing like a good cheese and pickle 🧀 🥪 Lots of the views and this walk reminder us of parts of the Brecon Beacons, very beautiful 😍 ⛰️💚 Have a great weekend, thanks for the video, Ceri and Kat ☕️ 👍 🧭 🗺 ❤️
I do love a good old cheese and pickle sarnie yum yum! It's been a long time since I went to the Brecon Beacons, but yes I would probably agree with you there in that there are similarities 😀 Thanks again Ceri and Kat, hope your weekend was great 👍😀
Congrats on your new place Patrick :) We also rent in the Peak District currently and so far have had a somewhat positive experience with it, but know exactly what you're talking about. Great walking location too, we haven't personally done this route, so was nice to see :) Thanks!
Many thanks Hay and Kyle for watching, a great route to do for a change, hope you get up there soon 😀 Thanks for the kind words on the new home too. It's so much cheaper if you rent through Dales Housing (or Platform Housing as they are now called), and you've got that lifetime assured tenancy which you don't get with private landlords. All the best 👍
Good news on the housing front, Patrick. No more looking over one's shoulder. Also enjoyed the video, as always. All the best. I hope you have a good weekend.
Morning Olly, many thanks for that. Yeah it's just such a relief to have a secure home now with much cheaper rent too. Glad you like the video. Enjoy where you are currently staying! I just know you're gonna love it 👍😀
Brilliant news having your own place and the security that comes with it. You can sleep sound now. I subscribed to Rachel a while back after your last shout out. Definitely a channel worth subbing to. It was spooky to me that you pointed out Chapel-en-le-Frith as I've just been there today on my Ethel Challenge. Hiked up Mount Famine & South Head. Also been up Eldon about a month ago. So many lovely hikes to be had. Another beautiful vlog Patrick, thank you for sharing and once again congratulations on securing your forever home.
Morning Chris, many thanks for watching and for all your great comments. Yeah having a new secure home now with Dales Housing is a huge relief for me now, and much lighter in the pocket too! 😂 Glad you've subbed to Rachel's channel, she's definitely worth following. I've never been up Mount Famine or South Head, although one day I plan to do a walk in that area. Glad yor Ethel Challenge is going well 😀 Thanks again Chris, all the best 👍
@@solitaryrambler it's a sad admission but if it were not for the Ethel Challenge I wouldn't experienced the beauty on our doorstep. My vloging isn't crisp like yours but now I'm retired I'm going to try editing and music. At the moment it is clips just uploaded together but soon hopefully I can venture into a more polished look. I'm just excited to share. I can't believe I have left it to this age to explore the Peaks. I will certainly be carrying on hiking there after the Challenge, it is so beautiful.
Hi Patrick. Brilliant walk and great views. The view of Chapel-en-le-frith bought back memories when I stayed in Buxton for a week and commuted each day to Chapel-en-le-frith on business 24 years ago. Congratulations on your new home. Thanks for sharing from NZ.
Another lovely video Patrick thank you. I am happy for you in moving into your new home but mostly for the peace of mind and security that it will bring you. I hope you have many happy years there. Looking forward to your next video.
Morning Patrick, just seen this pop up so we'll be watching later after work, just what we need after the sad news of her Majesty. Hopefully we'll get your news in this one, we're off to Seahouses in Northumberland tomorrow for a weeks walking holiday.
Good to see you enjoying Rushup Edge Patrick, the views down into the Edale valley are fantastic. Wishing you all the best of happiness in your new home.
Thanks again for another stunning walk in an area that I always loved to walk myself.Great walks in this area of the Peak District.Keep enjoying your walks Patrick and enjoy your new home.Ann DeakinWarwick
Hi Patrick am really happy for you 😊 finding a home to call yours at last, it certainly is a nice feeling 🏕 and to have such beautiful scenery on your doorstep
Hello Patrick. Came across your videos a while back and I can honestly say I love them. You are such an interesting person, informative and knowledgeable and you live in a wonderful part of the country.
I have only just discovered your videos Patrick as my husband and I are planning a trip to the UK next March and plan to do many walks! Your videos are such a joy to watch (and listen to with your catchy soundtracks!) So glad you are back to making a few videos again. I certainly appreciate the work that goes into making them! All the best in your recent move - May you have many years of happiness there!
Hi Patrick. So glad to hear you are now fixed up with your own place. What a wonderful walk. I’ve never done Rushup Edge and it looks absolutely beautiful.
Hi Patrick. Great news on the housing front. Congratulations. Another smashing walk with fantastic views and you only had to do it ONCE this time....have you chained the SD card round your neck😂😂😂😂
Hi Patrick. would you say that you have you changed the format of your videos ? you're an interesting guy when you tell us your stories. I always like hearing them .. But you used to set the tripod up a lot I think and showed more of the walks and of you walking . Very nice video though. I do rejoice every time one of your latest videos appears. And you are the best film maker for walking videos
Morning David, thank you so much for your lovely comments, much appreciated. I'm so pleased you edited what you said too as I saw your original comments that came through as an email notification 😂 I wouldn't say I've changed the format and I still set the tripod up. I perhaps engage more with the camera now, which works for me. It's worth me pointing out too that I shoot a huge amount of footage for each film I make, much of which doesn't make it to the final edit as I want to keep my films at 20-25 minutes max. Thanks again David, all the best 👍
All of your videos are spot on Patrick. Better than the normal stuff on RUclips !! Can't wait for the next one. ... I don't think I would enjoy it if some crazy little upstart came along on my channel. Haha.
I am a bit behind watching some of your vlogs Patrick, but finally watched this one. I was so happy to hear that you have sorted out your living accommodation - wonderful news! It is so stressful living with the fear of having to move and leave your home - so thankfully now you won't have that worry. I hope you continue to make your films for a long time. They are simply magical and bring so much joy to your followers. I secretly hope you will film in the Wye Valley/Forest of Dean area again. You bring something so special to the films you make there. Best wishes, Rebecca M.
Thank you so much Rebecca for your lovely comments. Yes I've been in my new home over a year now, so am settled. I hope to make films for a long time, work gets in the way sadly! 😄 I'm very pleased you enjoy them and thanks for taking the time to watch 👍
Wonderful indeed Patrick. A really enjoyable walk with a stunning view of the Great Ridge and Mam Tor. You can see why so many people descend on Edale every weekend. Great to hear about your new property and the security that provides. Hope you are settling in ok? I see you’ve been in the Lakes this week and enjoying a few of the local beers 🍺. Have a great weekend
Thanks Anthony, yeah this was a great walk near the Great Ridge, but a lot quieter. Thanks for the support on the new home too. Been here nearly 3 months and love it. I know I'm going to be happy here. I have indeed been in the Lakes. Got back this weekend. Did some walking on some of the days, and on a couple of the others I had a ride on the local buses, one of those days on which was when I enjoyed some beer 😀 Thanks Anthony for watching and have a great week 👍
Another wonderful film Patrick ..Brilliant that you've managed to sort your housing situation out and that the move went well ..looking forward to future vids..all the best bud
I'm pleased for you that you now have somewhere permanent to live. Congratulations! Once again, your video has shown a very picturesque part of the country. The scenery is really tranquil and timeless (aided by the music, of course). Best wishes in your new abode, Ken and Gill.
Hello Patrick , Great news I am sure you are very happy to know you will not have to move again unless you want to its a great feeling. Thanks for another great video that really does have a grand view well worth the climb . As always we enjoy every moment thank you. Take care all the best.
Another cracking walk patrick.... i sort of knew the area you were in as i ve scouted it out for a future bimble.....glad to hear your settling into your new home too....hope you had a great time in the lakes ..we certainly enjoyed our time and of course it was our honeymoon so special time up there....anyhoo keep up the great work mate...and take care ...see you on the next one ...Frank & Lee......
Glad you enjoyed it Frank and Lee, thanks for watching as always. The home is fab, just know it's gonna be great here. My week in the lakes was amazing, despite the mixed weather. I'm so glad you enjoyed it there too, what a place to spend your honeymoon. I was so chuffed to learn of your marriage. All the best to you both 👍
That's a lovely walk Patrick. We have walked Rushup edge and the Lords seat from Mam Tor, and we only passed 3 ppl. 😀 Be happy in your new home. You're do right about needing stability at a certain age. Would that be 50? 😉
Rushup Edge is a lovely walk like Mam Tor, but much quieter 😀 I'm 56 now, but when you reach 55 you get more choice of properties as most of them are only for 55+. Thanks for watching Maggi, have a great week 👍😀
Hi 👋 I’m so pleased you’ve found a new home that offers security and comfort. The private renting market is ruthless. I’ve never been up to the Lord’s Seat or Rush Up Edge. It looks much quieter than Mam Tor. What day of the week did you hike up there? Smashing views 😀
Hi Rachel, yes I'm so relieved to be out of the private rental properties now. Cheaper rent too and a lifetime assured tenancy. I did this walk on a Saturday and yes much quieter than Mam Tor, but just as lovely. Thanks for watching Rachel, have a great week 😀👍
I have walked some parts of Edale including 2miles Up the Pennine way to Upper Booth. I couldn’t make it any further but found Robin Woods workshop which I was interested in. Thanks for sharing this walk.
Yet another beautifully made video and great to see you doing a new walk! Those people Paragliding; can't decide if they are incredibly brave or extremely foolish...Thanks for your effort Patrick, great job.
So glad to hear you sorted your accommodation to a more secure arrangement. Some lovely views on your hill climbs. I know Chapel on the Frith from past visits there, but not been to Rushup or Lord's Seat before. I liked the guitar instrument arrangement in musical composition.
Morning Shanita, I'm so relieved to have made this move knowing that I am secure in a home now. This was my first time on Rushup Edge and Lord's Seat too, despite travelling around here a lot for work especially. Glad you enjoyed the guitar in my music, thanks for your kind words and for watching as always 👍
Hi Patrick! A great route👍 I've only ever done it clockwise direction, so may try anticlockwise for a change next time! 😁 Congratulations on your new home! All the best 👍
Morning Des, thanks for watching! My first time on this walk, so a nice one to do. Thanks for the congrats, it's lovely where I am and great to feel secure now. Have a great week 👍
Another fascinating walk with some great views. Just love that music with synthy strings and guitar, I guess you are playing the guitar on your keyboard but it sounds like an authentic guitarist. Lost my camera cover on my last walk so did the whole walk again, didn't find it of course. All the best for your new home, very jealous of where you are.
Morning Steve, thanks for the kind words as always. Yes the guitar sound is all done on my Yamaha keyboard, really pleased that it sounds authentic. I use the Velo Nylon guitar and VP Soft synth strings a lot as I love the sound too, glad you like it. Thanks for the comments on the new home too, much appreciated. All the best 👍
Wonderful as always Patrick. We were starting to do more walking when I got the dreaded Covid.Three bad days and I was positive for 14 days.Negative now! I can remembet when being positive was good and negative was bad.How times change. As everyone has said, it's fantastic news about your new home.I can see in your face what it means to you.Good stuff mate!👍
Hi Heyden, I think most of us have had the dreaded Covid by now, but it's horrible when you have it isn't it. Thanks for watching and commenting. The new home is great, a huge weight off my shoulders too 👍
Just started watching your videos mate cracking walk that definitely on my do list yes I know what you mean by landlords can be a nightmare I'm in a council flat but lived here for many years as again great walk
Thanks Patrick for another lovely video the views were beautiful. I'm pleased to hear you are happy and settled in your new home and feeling more secure. I rented years ago and had the same problem with the land lady selling so I decided to buy my own place so it didn't happen again. Like you said if you move again it will be because you want to. All the best :)
Glad you enjoyed the video again Jean. Yes it's a real relief to have security in my life now as it was a bit of a worry before thinking of past experiences with private landlords. All the best 👍
Great video Patrick! I've never been up to Chapel Gate, but have been to Lords Seat, albeit from mam nick side. I went with my uncle some years ago and we ventured up to Mam Tor after, before meandering into Castleton from the ridge and then back up.
Enjoyed every step and view there Patrick and the thought of your cheese and pickle sandwhich but I'll speak of your new home. Fantastic! That's great news. Yeah, it's been an unusual few years with regards properties but it sounds like you've landed where your meant to be. I said, 'have you got a garden?' I bet you have. It makes the whole difference to feel secure. The walks will be happier to. Good going. Well, here's to happy homes. All the best as always. Mark
Morning Mark, yeah the cheese and pickle sarnie was yummy, but I'm chuffed about the new home. Thanks for your support on that Mark. No garden sadly. It would have been nice, but I'm in a first floor flat. However, the home itself is really nice and I can see myself being really happy here. My walks will definitely be happier too as I'm feeling much more relieved for being in a secure home now. Thanks Mark as always for watching and for your support. Have a great week and all the best to you too 👍
@@solitaryrambler They are good them sandwiches Patrick. Always a pleasure to support you. It's so good to hear you've found a place that's long-term and to your liking. I will have a good week. Take care out there.
Another entertaining & informative video, thanks Patrick, (& Sue & I hope you'll be very happy in your new home). Cheese & Pickle sandwiches? Hope you've found the cheese shop at Hartington although to be honest we've thought they've not had the selection they used to have & they are quite expensive now. We were in Devon last week and if you're ever down that way try to get some Quicke's Double Devonshire - difficult to track down but in our opinion worth the pursuit!
Thanks Kevin, yes the new home is great and such a relief to feel secure now. Not been to the cheese shop in Hartington for many years, but it's still there I see. As always thanks for commenting and for watching 👍
Lovely walk Patrick the hills and fells around edale are truly beautiful 🤩 and expertly documented by your able hand 🙏🏼🙌 But it’s great you have your new home. I’ve never really seen the point of owning unless you have very deep pockets you can’t take it with you even if you do! And in my day job I often see the trouble home owner ship can cause in later life. (But I digress) Congratulations 👏 on your new place m8t Best wishes Simon 😊👍🏔 Oh rambling Rachel 👍 great channel 😊👍
Morning Simon, thanks for watching and commenting as always 😊 Yeah the new home is great thanks, and I've no kids to leave my home too after I've gone, so that's one reason for never owning somewhere. Thanks again Simon, always appreciate your support 😊 Have a great weekend 👍
i couldn't believe it when you said, it's been four years since you moved. Where does the time go. I'm fully in agreement regarding private landlords. Twice my nephew has had to move due to the owners suddenly deciding to sell the property. Both times they let him sign the six month rolling contract before announcing that's how long he had to find a place. His last contracts up this month but luckily he's buying a property and moving in October. Same as yourself, he just needed some stability and not worrying when his home would be sold from under him. Love your walks and what a view into the valley. Hope you're enjoying your time away right now and thanks for your wonderful channel. Cheers
Hi Kelly, yes it's scary where the time has gone. Your nephew was unlucky then. Glad he's got his own place now. That's the problem with private landlords. Although many of them are decent people, they've just got you over a barrel as they can just suddenly decide they want you out of their property. I'm just so glad I'm secure now, cheaper rent too 😀 I had a lovely time away last week thanks. As always Kelly thanks for your kind words, your support and for watching 👍

Hello Patrick , Great news I am sure you are very happy to know you will not have to move again unless you want to its a great feeling. Thanks for another great video that really does have a grand view well worth the climb . As always we enjoy every moment thank you. Take care all the best.
Thanks Shaun, yes it really is a relief to know that I'm secure in a home now. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Great quality videos - really impressed that you create all your own music. I've subscribed!
Many thanks for watching, commenting and subbing, much appreciated! 👍
@Solitary Rambler You look great Patrick. Didn't imagine you would be 56 😳 Ty
You kept us in suspense. Thankfully it was good news . 👍
It was indeed, thanks for that 👍
Hi 👋 I’m so pleased you’ve found a new home that offers security and comfort.
Nice one, thanks for watching 👍
Yet another beautifully made video and great to see you doing a new walk! Those people Paragliding; can't decide if they are incredibly brave or extremely foolish...Thanks for your effort Patrick, great job.
Cheers Jeff, yeah you can often see paragliders around Mam Tor, would love to have a go myself! 👍
@@solitaryrambler Blimey, I wouldn't lol
Nice one Andrew, many thanks for that. Glad you enjoyed the videos 👍
Cool, glad you enjoyed watching the video Jamie. Many thanks for your great comments 👍
Lovely walk Patrick the hills and fells around edale are truly beautiful 🤩 and expertly documented by your able hand 🙏🏼🙌
But it’s great you have your new home. I’ve never really seen the point of owning unless you have very deep pockets
you can’t take it with you even if you do!
And in my day job I often see the trouble home owner ship can cause in later life.
(But I digress)
Congratulations 👏
on your new place m8t
Best wishes Simon 😊👍🏔
Oh rambling Rachel 👍 great channel 😊👍
Morning Simon, thanks for watching and commenting as always 😊 Yeah the new home is great thanks, and I've no kids to leave my home too after I've gone, so that's one reason for never owning somewhere. Thanks again Simon, always appreciate your support 😊 Have a great weekend 👍
@@solitaryrambler you too best wishes 👍😊
i couldn't believe it when you said, it's been four years since you moved.
When I climbed Mam Tor it was drizzle and we couldn’t see where the walk went so we had to walk back down. I was disappointed not to complete it.
