I think Pewd's drawing is still better in three things of note: - His drawing pushes the pose further, making it look like there's dynamic tension (tighter neck, leaning forward more), whereas yours is more neutral and static pose. - The eyes he drew are more focused, whereas yours are more blank and unfocused (Which is not necessarily bad, but in this case I think focused is a bit more interesting and "meaningful".) - He has a greater value range with the colors, allowing the near-blacks in the hair bring in some very welcome contrast.
Yeah I agree! I STUGGLEDDDD with the eyes because his look more alive whereas mine just kinda look like they’re staring at a blank space 😂 I liked adding loads of colours so I didn’t really want to go near the blacks and make it an exact replica, but I wanted it close enough that it’s recognizable with a bit of my own “touch” lmaoooo 😂 but thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it!
i definitely think the way he drew the eyes are better than how pewds did, since pewds (prolly) used an ai reference, and most ai arts ive seen are cross eyed and just doesnt look right to me
@@affyraffy4661 I highly doubt that... Plus, AI being "always" cross-eyed is not even a thing, unless you've been looking at some consistently bad prompts.
I love the editing and commentary, this is insanely underr8ed. I love the process of the art and commentary of your thought process while drawing the piece. The background music is so subtle yet calming.
The funny thing is that the OG drawing looks AI generated for some reason, doesn’t take away from the glory of the masterpiece, I still love it too, but I just found it funny it looks like the AI generated anime style. Did anyone else think the same way or am I the odd one out here?
You're not alone! I know what you mean! And like you said it's not to diss in anyway, cuz I love how it turned out! But it does have a bit of those vibes ~
Not just that, the face is better porportioned in pewdiepie’s version, even though it’s still a little janky. I don’t really see the point in making a copy of a copy of an AI art if you’re not going to improve on it. At least reference from the original reference if you’re just trying to learn
@@lennytnovel i honestly just use indicators as a "yeah this was OVERWHEMLINGLY nice (not in a negative way ofc!)" in this situation, aslo cause some might take it as an insult anyways somehow ^^ (ive had ppl take it as an insult and i want avoid further miscommunications!) /nm
Some people here are really bad at giving art-advice. But maybe their goal is just to have an excuse to express some frustration without being helpful at all. Your drawing is really good and it captures the essence of the original, while adding some of your own skill. The body shows more knowledge of how the neck and shoulders work. The use of colour is much more polished and adds some excitement while still sticking to the same colourscheme. Based on this piece from six months ago I would suggest these topics for further practice: - Practice the basic headshape from different angles and where the features should be on the face. - Practice drawing the hair on top of those basic heads, to make sure it flows down the head in a natural way. - Learn some basic rules for drawing the eyes from observing and drawing reference. At a 3/4 angle, the iris should still be the same height, though it might look less wide. The pupil is a bit sunken in the iris so it won't show exactly in the middle of the iris, but rather a bit towards the viewer. In anime the eyes are VERY large, but rarely do artists choose to have the whites of the eye touch the side of the face.
Subbed! When you make a great lineart, how do you avoid the fear of ruining it when you color it? Like I made a birthday gift for my sister but I drew the lineart and I just fell in love with the lineart, I cant think of anyway to color it anymore and am just stuck I will figure it out yeah like but would love to see you mention that in any of your vids in the future, will be watching! Goodluck on your ventures mate!
Great question! Usually I do the colours and the line art on different layers, even when I eventually merge them I usually have a back up layer just in case! A great trick to incorporate line art with your colours is to “lock” the layer and colour it with a similar or opposing colour to make your piece more cohesive! I just posted a sketch/ line art tutorial! So if you’re interested you can check that out 😃✨

Nothing against you presonally dude, i know you're studying, but why would you choose something like this to draw? Don't get me wrong, I love the anime aesthetic and felix's drawing is pretty good, his sense of design and expression has come a long way, but you're over here... with less experience... saying you'll be redrawing it in your own style. I don't intend to come off mean, but you sound so unaware, that you're having more pride in the inspiration than your own art. Pride that you shouldn't even have. Put in the hard work, take pride in your efforts, and don't take shortcuts. Find your own artistic expression and look for unique inspiration. dang pewdiepie's a beginner but his drawings are already being taken as reference lmao
Frr! In the art world anything can be an awesome reference! IMO the best artists who use references are Ramonn90 and rinotuna!

maybe bc ai steals human art
True lmao
it's a reference I think
PewDiePie used ai art as references 🥲
I actually like pediepies better. Something about the more raw mix of colors. I just found it to give it detail in a different way.
That’s true! I rendered mine a bit too much 😅
@@wimosuka for fun maybe you should give it another try. The whole point is about fun and improvement.

I actually thought this guy was popular based off the short
Her head is too wide in your drawing. It's not that big of a deal but it really annoys me.
I like how her head looks but I appreciate your feedback!
