This song gives me magic old In Flames feelings (Whoracle/Colony/Clayman era). Jesper Stromblad was the real soul of that band, that awesome riff proves it.
Shadowminds sounded like DT, this sounds like the music came off of Clayman or even Colony. Much more 'In Flames' like. That lead guitar is so damn beautiful. Super stoked for the album now!
As someone who spent his best teenage years with the rise of both Finnish metal scene and the prime of Göteborg sound, this brings back feelings from somewhere deep inside.. The good way. In a really good way. Colony/clayman way. And yeah, Mikael, Tomi and pumped Tuomas are all good choices. I would ask Johan Hegg to join in as well. And die as a happy man.
Incoming AOTY with this stellar project. The guitar work and melodies gave me old-school In Flames Clayman vibes. Jesper is so damned iconic. Hella Hyped 🔥🔥🔥
I agree with what you say about the drums, Daniel Svensson is of my favourite Metal Drummers out there. He's incredibly versatile, a strong balance between keeping a steady and consistent groove through a track while also adding flairs and fills that add such flavour and colour to the sound.
This song takes me back to the prime time years of the Gothenburg/melodic death metal sound. Plus it's crazy to think Mikael was in Dark Tranquillity and In Flames early in the career of both bands, his harsh vocals are amazing and his clean vocals (not showcased here) are amazing as well. Very good track, I will purchase the EP or the album whenever it is released. Another band I would say to check out is Endvs (a band from Australia) and their song The Immortals off the album Cessation. There is an EP with the name The Immortals as well, but I've only found the version of the song that is on the full length album. It's a catchy track with great musicianship and both harsh and clean vocals. I would say they sound like Solution .45 or Scar Symmetry with Christian Alvestam (one of my personal favorites) and they are pretty badass IMHO.
WOW! This is what I was expecting from this dream team...Mikael Stanne / Jesus and band at their best! And I agree...the should have chosen this song as the first single ;-)
I agree that this song is better than their first release! It had a harmony part that was surprisingly short. In this one we got more of those "Strömblad melodies". I would not mind a solo starting around the 3 minute mark though. :)
This song sounds waaaaaay more like In flames. I even think the splash of Dark Tranquillity that most people talk about being there is overstated, it's mostly bias because of Mikael's voice. This very much sounds like something In flames could have released around the Whoracle era instrumentally.
sub for Mikeal and Tomi chose heheh. Dark Tranquillity blow my mind ( and I was long time fan already) after milan DVD and Amorphis blow my mind first when I heard Silent Waters and Forging The Land Of Thousand Lakes DVD. Man... they are both incredible styles on their own , powerful , harsh , growls , cleans. Amazing
I was about to say that the singer totally reminded me of Mikael Stanne. Thank goodness I didn't do this. Though I still kind of did. Well ... anyway, good stuff.
Why didn't they start of with this one? Easy, because the first one was much better. :D. in all honesty, I completely missed out on the Gothenburg hype back then, and I never really got into In Flames that much, and even today, on my top 10 of melodic death metal bands, Dark Tranquility is very much at the top of that list, while In Flames isn't even on it. Song's still good, and I understand why everyone else is gushing about it, but if not for Stanne, I'd probably simply sit this one out.
Holy shit what an amazing song! Sounds like early 2000’s In flames mixed with DT!
100% so good
Clayman was released in 2000 and I this song sounds even older than that.. Has a Colony feel..
@@Eyrothath Yeah understand your point but to me it sounds more like A Sense of Purpose/Reroute to Remain than Colony/Clayman :)

Talking about versatility in vocals, don't forget Björn "speed" Strid from Soilwork !! That guy is amazing !!
The vocals on their last album.....
@@snuffcarl go on.....
@@thepredator666qc4 is fucking amazing
Search for Terror 2000 Speed Sinatra
Agree, Bjorn Strid is just on another level. He deserves to be famous worldwide
Top stuff! Reminds me of In Flames from Colony/Clayman era in all of its glory! Also super fun song to play on the guitar!
This album is going to be huge!!! Mikael and Tomi are my 2 favourite metal vocalists as well.

Aamen :DDD
This is the In Flames that I grew up. \w/
Yes!❤ it has the Colony vibes ❤
The sound that I crave. This takes me right back 20 years. It's all in the guitars. Love it.
That is some great melodic death metal. Thanks for the great reaction!!! 🤘
Your analyses have improved a TON in the last year. Much more substantial.
We still shoot the shit a lot but we very often go a bit deeper into the tracks.
One of the best metal songs for 2022!Despite the fact it is only January! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘💙🇬🇷
Incoming AOTY with this stellar project.

Love your reactions guys. This was a phenomenal song. Can't wait to hear the rest of us.
Good afternoon gentlemen, damn this was a good song, it just gripped you and dragged you along for the ride. Thanks for sharing, have a great day.

Niklas from Orbit Culture has both cleans and harsh with a metal-band 🤘🤘
In Jesper we trust!
Kyo from Dir en grey has the best harsh vocals and an amazing singing voice. He's probably the best vocalist ever, definitely the best I've heard
Flaming Tranquillity. Great to see Jesper Strömblad being back and doing fine.

Damn right!!! This milkshake brings everyone to the yard.
The soldiers of Göteborg Metal are back.
Played the guitar on my channels shorts - check them out \m/
Mikael and Tomi are SO tops.
Speaking about best vocalists, Bjorn Strid is on top of all of them. He can f*cking do it all.
guess everyone already forgot about godlike Christian Alvestam =)
@@CJIEnOuBOBR I remember Alvestam, but he can only do growling and clean vocals. Strid's skillset is wider.
Still enjoying Moment and now THIS!! We’re spoiled!
Absolute banger
In flames isn't in flames un less Daniel is behind the kit.

Agree about mike stanne! Salute guys 😉

My picks for harsh vocals: Tomas Lindberg, Mikael Stanne, Mario Augusto Felipe Santos Ramos (Feared)
That blew me away 🤘🔥 🎶
Loved the direction of this song, but I'm also looking forward to some surprieses on this album...perhaps some clean singin from Mikael?
Hear a bit of Jotun in there, Strömblad doing what he does best!
Dark flames
It's gonna be a fantastic album by "the artists formerly known as in flames" 😅
What band is on Pedro T-Shirt???

Good old In Flames team
Yeah this one is good. Agreed, this would've been a much better first single.
Review songs by the grand cadaver featuring mikael stanne next!

Don't forget Johan Hegg :)
Take a listen to Zombified by Falling Reverse. Very sick song and the lyrics are magnificent!
Great song. Next react Allegaeon - of beasts and worms.
Production is ..... *searches for a sock.
