Ah Oggi, I see u work even through Christmas. Hard worker 😳💪😂
They look like more of cine lens. This is awesome.
Indeed, good Sir. Olympus Pro is highly underated.
BIG FAN! glad to see a new one. I only work with Olympus pro lenses on gh6/gh5s
Your excellent taste reveals good decisions. Gh6 and Gh5s demands the best!
Thank you for another entertaining episode to close out the year. Definitely looking forward to more Micro Four Thirds content in 2023. Keep up the good work sir!
Thank you good Sir, there will be more coming up.
Looking forward to every new episode! Gold! Thank you!
The world thanks you for having good taste. ;)
Thank you for this video, it's nice to see people using the f1.2 Olympus Pro lenses, there are not enough people talking about them ...
I have the 25mm and 45mm Pro, I was tempted by the 17mm Pro but my 35mm GM is just too good (and not so big).
The rendering of the 25mm and 45mm Pro are excellent. The 25mm is a little bit soft wide open compared to most M43 lenses but local contrast is great which help to create a three dimensional look to the pictures. The 45mm is sharper and it also has this three dimensional look, more than most 85mm Full frame AF lenses (but a bit less than the 25mm Pro).
I use more my 10-25mm and 25-50mm Konica Minolta, hum sorry Panasonic-Leica ... Because they are more versatible, and in my opinion they have better colors, sharpness and contrast. The images coming from these lenses are very punchy yet three dimensional. You should try them ! However the bokeh is nowhere as good as the Olympus f1.2 lenses.
Thank you, and I own the Leica 12mm. I do like it, although it's look is very different to the Olympus. Colors are more commercial like than film, if I would have to describe it without elaboration. I certainly like the 12mm focal for environments when using a gimbal.
You've sold me on the 17 1.2. Just ordered one to pair with my G9, just in time for Christmas 👍
Excellent! You made a very wise purchase decision not wasting cash on a kit lens, like most do when buying a g9.
Love this channel. You're a super talented writer. Shared it on EOSHD. I was wondering if you were planning on getting the GH6?
Thank you very much, you have a taste for quality.
Yeah, that is the big question. The Gh6 has the prores c4k which is intriguing, however I'm somewhat eyeballing the S5iix too, which opens up opportunity to use adapted Leica VM Voightlander lenses. Then again I can do that with an S5 mk1, if I just ditch the prores. At the end of the day I'm still a lens guy, so lenses are what I will have to factor in.
@@thatweirdfilmmaker4521 Maybe both. That 120fps 4k looks so good. The X model is definitely the way to go for only a few hundred more... Oggie's wouldn't be any better though.
The 25 Pro is my most used lens. I've owned other lenses that were optically superior, but none have rendered or given my images the look or feel, that made the 25mm so special.
There is something about the Olympus colors and textures that is very distinct.
This. Was. Excellent.
Though my Christmas Wish of seeing Oggie frozen in the snow like at the end of The Shining have been dashed...
Maybe next year...?
Oggie did look very similar to Nicholson when he used pine cones doing his bathroom regular outside.
I've got the set as well. I wish oly made a fast pro prime in the 9-12mm range to flesh out the set. How well does the panaleica 12mm 1.4 match up color wise to the 1.2 trio??
Interestingly, that is the reason I bought the Leica 12mm f1.4, even though I own a 7-14mm. F2.8 in lower light simply won't cut it sometimes.
A review of the 12mm is planned matching it against the 17mm f1.2.
What I can say is, that color wise it's not much work to blend it in post. However I do notice a visual texture feel that is not Olympus like.
Having said that, viewers and most videographers who don't own the lenses, would not notice the difference, especially when focusing on the characters/plot.
@@thatweirdfilmmaker4521 I am really curious about the Panasonic 12mm f1.4, as I have the Olympus 12mm f2 and 17mm f1.2. Please make a comparison video between the Panasonic 12 and Olympus 17 and others if you can.
Bro has the Hugh Laurie accent 😮
