The S2000 actually was running thinner than OEM rear tires, though with 60 more horsepower it should've been more than half a second faster than the Jun Civic.

That Levin looks like so much fun to drive! Although it's one of the more powerful and lighter csrs on the list, its also probably the slowest on a circuit like this in the wet.

@@lahtine876 no its because it designed for it. VTEC doesnt make an engine rev higher in the slightest. It is just 2 or more cam profiles all in one camshaft. Electronically controlled switch over. Allowing for a cam profile that is good for just tooting around town and another one that is more suited for power.

@@verttisyrjala2897 so what you're saying isn't wrong. In the sense that if you are going to rev the shit out of an engine you need to have the right cams for that to make power. However Cams alone do not reduce engine vibrations. Balancing shafts do that. Bore and stroke are a big factors. Also the strength of the materials and the weight of the moving parts. Less rotating mass etc. But having more lift and duration doesn't mean shit in regards to the other moving parts of a motor. In other words just cause your cams would make a shit ton of power at 8000 RPMS doesn't mean your crankshaft bearings can handle that many revs or your piston rods for that matter. I mean do you understand what cams are? explain to me how just upgrading your cams on a stock motor all of a sudden makes it able to rev higher?

10,000 in Japanese looks an awful lot like 9,000 in English!
They probably are all capable of rev to 10k but likely power is lost after 9k. Not useful on the track
If thay hit the limiter in every gear thay lose time on the lap.. LOL..

Yeah I’ve noticed that too. I think they just mean they’re 10,000rpm capable but the power probably dives off before even 9500
I always watch miroshi's videos and often wonder why Honda ever bothered to make the nsx let alone the nsx R when any mildly worked Civic hatch with a 1800cc or large dohc bseries beat them up on the track so badly all the time I see it constantly ive never seen one of these videos where the nsx came in anything but last place , maybe second to last in a few rare instances lmao. It's nothing special, however a hand built type R motor is something truelly very special
The NSX does better on higher top speed tracks.
There are also videos where all the same driving legends as here drive all the jdm legends, and the nsx beats them every time. Also, track time isn't the only thing they were going for. It was to push limits, make an exotic looking race car that can be driven daily, it has the air con ffs hahaha I don't think the same people are buying the NSX and a worked civic, nothing against any of them, it's just very obvious they're different vibes, again, track time is not the only thing that makes a car

2:13 200 hp @ 4,000 rpm? That can't be right. The engine makes about as much HP and revs about as high as an S2000 and the S2K engine doesn't hit 200 hp until VTEC kicks in.
Probably it has something like vtec locked on

Very tight shift throws. It does almost look as if he's only moving it back and forth, but there is an H pattern there still.
You can tell the sound of a sequential. If it had a sequential it would have been over a lot faster.
