One of my favorite games that got me into fantasy rpg’s being bashed cause it’s an complex old game that came out in the when there just weren’t a lot of games like this. Character customization; got three different skill trees that you can mix and match your skill points into and from there depending on how many points you have in a skill tree you unlock more and more Fate Cards, witch gives bonuses like +15% dmg or replacing the dodge with a teleport and a ton of other benefits. In game lore: there is a shit ton of this. Like an overstuffed suitcase it just spills out with in depth dialog with npc’s, lore stones, and books. Re-reckoning the dlc’s: both The Teeth of Narcos with the Colossi and the Ghost ship Island dlc’s were very fun to explore and play through. With unique weapons & armor for each category of equipment. Look, I’ll be the first to admit that this game is dated and in some areas of the game repetitive and “a fantasy of fantasy game”. For those who have never played it or won’t play it because of this video, just try it. Wait till you can get it on sale and try it for yourself, you got a 18+ hour fantasy RPG packed with expansive lore, fantastic fighting animations, unique weapons & armor, magic spells and passive boosts that show you how powerful your character is. I don’t know when or why it became a thing on RUclips to start bashing good games that came out years ago thinking that they’ll be as good as the games we play today. That’s not how gaming development works. It all changes over time, for ALL genres, companies that make the games, the people that play them, and the view of the public. All of these things change, adapt, evolve and grow. Remember like when pay 2 win started becoming a thing? How about when loot boxes were being considered gambling? Everything is changing and constantly moving forward. We as gamers forgot WHY we play games in the first place. It’s just a bunch of code and scripts that we get to play around in, experience and experiment with. An escape of various different parts of each of our own personal lives. So in the end of it all, you wanna play this game? Play it. Don’t bother with videos like this, or even comments like mine. I LOVE this game. But that’s just it, ‘I love’ that’s just me. No one besides you can tell you if you would like a game or not and the worst thing any gamer can do is say that you won’t like this or you won’t have a good time with that. I like to think damn near all the gamers reading this can tell when a game is worth the effort or not. But even then a broken half finished game that works and is playable but has had nothing but shitty people play it and write reviews on it, YOU could still have a fantastic time playing said game. Hell I only really play Skyrim & Fallout NV//Fallout 4 because I love to break those games with mods and cheats or spawning things
Man, I'm both surprised & a little sad at how hard this made me laugh, made me realize how long its been since I last felt this happy watching a single youtube video. Thanks for making your content man.
You know its funny that listening to KBash describe the Fate weave mechanic without looking at the screen brings to mind pretty much how you can use Vergil's SDT in DMC 5...even as someone who knows damn well what Amalur is.
I finished the original version back in the days and my biggest complain about it was that most part felt 'sooo' empty. I suppose it has to do with the fact that it was designed as an mmorpg. Yet I will definitely do a replay with the new version because it's really good material for a video
5 things i hate about a game i love to bits....1-too easy even on hardest difficulty (i use mods to make insane hard)....2-too many stupid pointless quests...3-crafting system is broken...4-lvl cap is way too easy to reach in too short a time...5-bugs and glitches galore years after release and re-release/remaster making numerous chests unabe to open causing items to get missed
Kbash actually pointed out the one thing that stuck out to me when playing Kingdom back in the day. While I enjoyed it a lot I always hated how enemies would slide over to you even after you dodge and just smack you in the back. Game was good but it definitely felt more like style over substance and I had to drop it for a few months before going back to finish it. It has so much content in there, but what’s there isn’t exactly varied and deep. Still a fun time though.
@@brycepriar3185 Would've been better as a co-op game honestly. It did start as an MMO before they scrapped the idea and changed direction, that is why the game is so huge and environmentally rich.
This game is still leagues above Godfall in every department except graphics. Game devs have learning nothing in 20 years. The only disappointment this game gave me was no NG+ option, but then again, not very many games had NG+ back then.
the spellcaster route makes combat really cool looking and fun but eventually i decided to go for smithing and just kept recreating Thunderfury, Blessed blade of the windseeker. whenever i could make it stronger. good stuff.
bit of trivia about the Fart Cat app, years later. it was made by former 38Studios devs that reformed as a smaller studio and this was their first product, something dumb and quick just to make something (after years and years of not shipping anything). I heard this story from Rich Gallup on Giant Bomb many many years ago. So i would assume Grant K. helped out as a favor or something after the cancellation of Copernicus.
Pretty consistently with K Bash videos, the video will keep running during the patron shoutouts. And my brain idly wonders if I should click off the video. Then a hilarious new name comes up and I'm glad I left the video on. This time it was "Mitchellaneous"
The only thing that surprised me about this video is that someone would actually spent a god-mode-thing on those gnomes. And seeing the animation made it worth watching through it.
great video as always my dude the game reminds me of bound by flame but with more budget but i enjoyed bound by flame so i'm sure i could squeeze some enjoyment from this game as well lol
I enjoy the game personally. I picked up Rereckoning so I could do another playthrough (not a clue where my PS3 is) and so far its been good to go through one last time. I'd actually intended to do two more playthrough to go through the two class mixes I hadn't played before (rouge-mage and warrior mage) but at about 12 hours in (and doing every sidequest) I think I'm going to cut it at just warrior mage. it's been fun, and this game is very nostalgic for me, but it certainly feels a bit simplistic. Still, I look forward to the new DLC.
Game came out in 2012 and was basically re- released in 2020, with a few bugs fixed, yet it is basically the same game from 2012. You have to judge it on that scale. Back then it was great game for its time. Amalur has great graphics and allot has changed since then, still fun to play, and for 20 bucks a good deal. You forgot to mention chakrams, how you can use them to fling your enemy's in the air and slice them to pieces... that is awesome fun... either way i'm waiting for the expansion DLC that's coming out and is made by the new studio. Thanks for you opinion, have fun out there...
Wow. I've never seen a review so bad it made me want to start doing RUclips reviews to clear the name of something I don't really even like that much. Like, painfully missing the entire story and more than half the classes in the game, I don't understand how this kind of review is even possible.
When I did my playthrough of the game like half-way through, i decided to not cure any curses or debuffs and I still steam-rolled pretty much everything.
oh wow. i remember buying this as a kid. my impression was its the most generic rpg I've ever played. when i think generic rpg, this game even tho i never remembered its name, came to mind.
there are 4 ways to play not 3, try to become "Universalist" and you'll have all in one, i played the original game long ago and the facts are that is a great game
Sadly the only issue with universalist is that it's the end of the three trees but you're at such a disadvantage as until you get there, you can't get strong abilities. I found it much easier to focus on a class until I unlocked the final destiny of that class, then I used a fate weaver to get the universalist class immediately which worked wonders
@@yvocarr288 and one more thing after the fate weaver is to fast travel all the npcs that teach you and keep all the books that give upgrades in your inventory to have all the skill points possible cause universalist is overall but is not the best on any class
Smithed weapons completely shit on world drops. Part of the issue is crafted weapons are so overwhelmingly powerful compared to any drop you will get on open-world areas.
The epilepsy warning should probably be in the actual video rather than the description if you're gonna have the warning. That way it's harder to miss. That being said, idk if that clip would actually trigger anyone's epilepsy but idk much about the subject. So, whatever.
@@buttqueef9900 Well, yes. Me saying that I don't know much about epilepsy is to say that I don't know if there should even be a warning, so it doesn't really disqualify anything I've said in the case a warning would be needed. Either the video is able to trigger someone's epilepsy, in which case what I said would be 100% valid, or it's not and there'd be no reason to even have a warning
So Kbash funny video but couldn't help notice you forgot the elves. You confused the Fae for the elves and then completely didn't talk about the actual eleves. Honestly thought there was gonna be a joke about two different pointy eared races by calling the Fae elves and then the elves other elves or something but then you actually didn't mention the real elves at all.
That really stuck out to me, too. I get it if you aren't immediately gripped by the plot, but you can't completely ignore all of the dialogue in the game and then say it's all generic and completely forgettable. The Fae are actually pretty unique in terms of fantasy races, and them tying into the whole themes of fate with the world and repeating certain cyclical stories over and over is surprisingly cool. Also the entire Dead Kel DLC is surprisingly funny and does reward you with a completely unique fortress that you rule over, can recruit people to, and expand over time that's unlike the housing in the rest of the game so it's not just more of the same (plus you can get married, though it's somehow even more pointless than in Fable). I love KBash but this video seemed really rushed and like he'd just decided he already didn't like the game before even picking up the controller, then just kept ignoring stuff to reinforce his own preconceptions.
i have it on PS3 and yeah i played it for maybe 20 or so hours i ttoally forgot the main quest though i liked the gameplay. It's basically what D&D Fans want. Hyper over the top action with Magic doing BOOM and BANG where every module has 100 battle encounters. So in my feeling it's a typical High Fantasy from Zero to Hero Setting from the US
Just wanna add that blacksmithing (and the gemstone one, I cant remember the name its been a while) are actually the most brokenly powerful part of the game if you focus it. Also, the abilities bound to buttons like spells are much better on pc as you get slots for 1 through 9 not just 4. Other then that, solid vid, ofc I disagree but thats prolly down to nostalgia and the fun I had 100% the game.
Kingdoms of Amalur really feels like one of those games that came after the Fable boom where a lot of games tried to be just like Fable. Rather then reinventing itself and the concept it was aspiring to be, it just stuck to the basics and ultimately does nothing of special. It's just a pretty looking game with some highlights - which is why I think it's so beloved by some fans. Funny to see how this sort of thing happens even nowadays with "souls-like" games being put out everywhere.
Yeah very generic high fantasy action game, combat was a highly praised aspect of the game and i enjoyed it but for all its cool variety and style it lacked depth or room for ingenuity. Fun game for sure though im probably gonna play it again for like 5 hours now lol
Yeah, that "Special Delivery" DLC chest that gives you those op items? They're locked at the level you find them at. Forever. You don't get to use them because you're going to be hopelessly underpowered by the time you go up a few levels, and you don't get to make them either. You just have shitty armor with super cool stat bonuses that you never get to use because of an oversight by the developers.
I liked this game a lot back in the day; played re-reckoning, still like it. Note I said like; not love. It has a ton of potential, and I could see it getting polished in a sequel; but I mean, its history really kneecapped that. (also I kinda chuckled when you mentioned found loot being better than crafted stuff; its like the literally issue with found loot being crap compared to the crafted stuff lol) At least the leaks kinda confirmed we're getting a Dragon's Dogma 2.
Yeah I don't know what his issue with the crafted gear was. If you max out Crafting, you can essentially break the game by making gear that's about twice as good as it "should" be. But he did rush through the game if he was in the final zone by Level 17.
I thought I was crazy for thinking this game’s combat was all flash no substance, I really did. I was like “there’s so many moves, why isn’t this fun?”
If you're looking for fresh rpgs check out valdis story the abyssal city. Its amazing and has not gotten the praise it deserves. S rank all bosses too.
You never play the strongest character ever, that's why you sound really frustated. Play as mage, upgrade your fire damage, and unlock meteor spell. This spell can one shot almost everything. very usefull againts group of enemy. Once you know how strong meteor is, you can add even more damage by crfating your own equipment that increase damage output. This mage skill cost about 79 point. Allocate your other point to warrior, to increase heath, damage resistance, and even increase damage scraficing 30% of your mana poll, I sacrifice 60% of my mana poll to activate shield and increase damage (I dont remember the name, the oine that give you glowing hand) The fact that you said this is child game, meaning that you are the one who doesn't have enough brain to outsmart the game mechanic. The essential of every RPG is that you play smart, and using your brain to build and develop your caracter, so you can: 1. One shoot every enemy (highest damage output) 2. Take a full hit from boss without loosing much health 3. Make the final boss fight easy The fact that you can't do any of thoose 3, well
Those executions are so brutal. It's almost comically excessive, as if everyone in Amalur owes the main character money.

I loved this game, but I think it’s best remembered that way. I doubt I’ll enjoy it as much today.
Your videos always make me laugh man. Incredibly underrated channel, love your content and you deserve way more subs.
You know its funny that listening to KBash describe the Fate weave mechanic without looking at the screen brings to mind pretty much how you can use Vergil's SDT in DMC 5...even as someone who knows damn well what Amalur is.
Watching this just makes me wish that they would make a new Forgotten Realms mmorpg sadge
'maybe Fable aint so bad'
:'D I fricken felt that one
I found it absolutely hilarious that you use the fabled music for this LOL keep it up K Bash
This is the most informative and well written review I've found for this game.
I finished the original version back in the days and my biggest complain about it was that most part felt 'sooo' empty. I suppose it has to do with the fact that it was designed as an mmorpg. Yet I will definitely do a replay with the new version because it's really good material for a video
Yup the game is incredibly empty and the plot/characters are robotic which makes it hard to care about anything accept the combat
As usual, only here for the simpgod line read the rest of the video is just bonus.
Bashing a game I like K-Bash? I love it! Looking forward to the next video. Best of luck with those January funds.
"Frost Mage PvP"
Oh god, my PTSD is kicking in!
I was just thinking about this game yesterday. So sad that they didn't get to iterate on this series.
That or expand and do a co-op making it a mini wow for consoles
@@brycepriar3185 Would've been better as a co-op game honestly. It did start as an MMO before they scrapped the idea and changed direction, that is why the game is so huge and environmentally rich.
This game is still leagues above Godfall in every department except graphics. Game devs have learning nothing in 20 years. The only disappointment this game gave me was no NG+ option, but then again, not very many games had NG+ back then.
I am binging you and you're becoming more of my favorite with every video.
the spellcaster route makes combat really cool looking and fun but eventually i decided to go for smithing and just kept recreating Thunderfury, Blessed blade of the windseeker. whenever i could make it stronger. good stuff.
But how could you not like gadfow he's voiced by tigger
That’s actually pretty great.
However, when I heard his name the first time I decided his crappy villain name was more than enough reason to kill him.
bit of trivia about the Fart Cat app, years later. it was made by former 38Studios devs that reformed as a smaller studio and this was their first product, something dumb and quick just to make something (after years and years of not shipping anything).
YAYYYY NEW VID
5:45 Dude, your use of QfG pleases me. Those are my origin to what an RPG is. Was surprisingly useful when I started playing tabletop.
Kbash love the background music man.
As a fan of this game thanks for the recommendation of the remaster.
love the quest for glory screenshot lol
I'd love to see you impression of Odin sphere!
Can't wait for you to get into the Yakuza franchise
Best patreon shoutout ever!!!
I think this is what a game made for journalists looks like
Koa reckoning was my favorite 360 game, right after dragons dogma
God the environment in this look stupid good and just oozes personality
Imma simple man.
I see a new KBash notification, that's an insta-watch.
The jack of all trades-even point distribution fates are OP, I feel like a god in fight encounters.
You do get married in the DLC play the game longer
Quest for Glory refrence hell yeah
When I did my playthrough of the game like half-way through, i decided to not cure any curses or debuffs and I still steam-rolled pretty much everything.
Heard that octopath music in the background. A man of taste... not sure what kind of taste. But you do have a taste
I should re-download this game.
oh wow. i remember buying this as a kid. my impression was its the most generic rpg I've ever played. when i think generic rpg, this game even tho i never remembered its name, came to mind.
You are right. I took the high level stuff they give you in the first town but i didn't really bother to actually PLAY through the entire game '-'
Transcribing this type of battling and assets onto a better isometric rpg could've been cool. Something like pillars of eternity
I like how this game looks like it came out in 2007 when it came out in 2012
You get to play as Kbash in this game?!?!? SOLD
I remember this game. Thought it was a cool alternative to Fable, but never got far into it. =
there are 4 ways to play not 3, try to become "Universalist" and you'll have all in one, i played the original game long ago and the facts are that is a great game
Might wanna drop a flashing light warning for epileptics for when the screen freaks out.
Good game
The epilepsy warning should probably be in the actual video rather than the description if you're gonna have the warning. That way it's harder to miss.
That being said, idk if that clip would actually trigger anyone's epilepsy but idk much about the subject. So, whatever.
"I dont know anything about Epilepsy but I am going to subject you to my opinion."
So in my feeling it's a typical High Fantasy from Zero to Hero Setting from the US
I finished this a week ago with 93 hours and counting 😂 i enjoyed it immensely does that make me a bimbo lmao
I played it in all way possible using all the destiny and changing everytime the decisions. I fucking Loved this game
Sagecrafting
The skull guy?? You mean fu**ing SPAWN!?!?!?!? WTF KBASH
The remake was so disappointing and lazy. The game is still a blast though
You lunatic, you even added music from Fable there, for a second I tought you were literally playing it too.
I thought this game was solid enough for what it was, a mindless podcast/ Discord call game for me to hit things and level up in.
Visually very similar to Dragon Age, even if it doesn't play like it.
Yeah, that "Special Delivery" DLC chest that gives you those op items? They're locked at the level you find them at. Forever. You don't get to use them because you're going to be hopelessly underpowered by the time you go up a few levels, and you don't get to make them either. You just have shitty armor with super cool stat bonuses that you never get to use because of an oversight by the developers.
good to know im not the only one who went on a gnome killing spree after the end of the game
I played this game and all I remember is massacring gnomes and large spiders.
I liked this game a lot back in the day; played re-reckoning, still like it. Note I said like; not love. It has a ton of potential, and I could see it getting polished in a sequel; but I mean, its history really kneecapped that. (also I kinda chuckled when you mentioned found loot being better than crafted stuff; its like the literally issue with found loot being crap compared to the crafted stuff lol)
At least the leaks kinda confirmed we're getting a Dragon's Dogma 2.
Yeah I don't know what his issue with the crafted gear was. If you max out Crafting, you can essentially break the game by making gear that's about twice as good as it "should" be. But he did rush through the game if he was in the final zone by Level 17.
There is a marriage in the keep of gravehal
4:25 technically, there is marriage... in gallow's end...
I thought I was crazy for thinking this game’s combat was all flash no substance, I really did. I was like “there’s so many moves, why isn’t this fun?”
Apparently their making a sequel that’s an mmo. Hopefully it’s a lot more fun.
Hello past KBash
Nice, QFG reference 👉😎👉 I'm old
If you're looking for fresh rpgs check out valdis story the abyssal city. Its amazing and has not gotten the praise it deserves. S rank all bosses too.
Max your blacksmith.
Pick pure warrior class.
Make yourself OP greatsword with blacksmith skill.
One hit everything.
Enjoy.
Allocate your other point to warrior, to increase heath, damage resistance, and even increase damage scraficing 30% of your mana poll,
I sacrifice 60% of my mana poll to activate shield and increase damage (I dont remember the name, the oine that give you glowing hand)
The fact that you said this is child game, meaning that you are the one who doesn't have enough brain to outsmart the game mechanic.
The essential of every RPG is that you play smart, and using your brain to build and develop your caracter, so you can:
1. One shoot every enemy (highest damage output)
2. Take a full hit from boss without loosing much health
3. Make the final boss fight easy
The fact that you can't do any of thoose 3, well
First time I came first in a good way😏
Second person here
Aight u got my sub do u use after effects?
This video reminded that bimbo was originally a negative word to other people, and is still used as much. I legit forgot
