Hi, that was very interesting as I'm TMX 2017 in Australia with updated HW3 same as you car. It's great to see v12 works so great on legacy model X. Any update with v12 Supervised recently realised in the US?
I think the "Additional Information" under Control/Software should give an idea if it's on HW3.0. If it's Full Self-driving Computer, it's 3.0. And I think if you are already on v11, you should be on 3.0, maybe it's just a time thing.
Yeah it has park assist like auto park, smart summon. It's just it doesn't have the full capacity (like high fidelity visualization) since it's on intel Atom processor
I would say it gets most of the technologies (probably over 80% ?) as new car gets, just hardware 3.0 probably has lower confidence than 4.0, but that's also hard to measure. In general, I feel this is a big improvement.
Had the FSD computer upgraded a couple of weeks back on our 2018 X, still on V11 Beta. Great to see it actually works with our version 12, was starting to worry it wasn't going to push us V12. Time to start asking Tesla what's up I think.
Yeah always good to ask them if you are gonna get v12. Mine is MCU2 (intel Atom processor) and upgraded FSD computer from 2.5 to 3.0. If you have the same, you should get it soon😊
@@EVSlug-Jack Thanks, yeah same setup as me, hope to see it soon! V11 was really good for people who don't mind being test pilots, but for the others that travel with us regularly and don't like to see the car wait until the verrrrry end of the merge lane, and really dislike the roundabout behavior, not so much!
@@johnway9853Completely agreed ! V12 is a huge upgrade, probably the biggest one ever since I started using FSD beta from v10. Hope you will get it soon and experience the difference 😊
@@EVSlug-Jack Thanks! I checked and yup, I have the same MCU, and just had the FSD upgraded a couple of weeks back. They didn't change or add any cameras to yours?
Do you still have to pull on the wheel every 30 seconds? If so, does that make it not worth getting FSD? Does the entertainment screen still feel slow with the FSD hardware upgrade? Or did that get faster?
I don't think it's 30 seconds, but after a while I will have to pull the steering wheel. I guess there is no way we can get rid of this on older Tesla since there is no cabin camera
Thank you for making this video
It’s good to know and see it in the real case that FSD v12 works somewhat similar on the older Tesla’s.
Thanks !
Looking to buy a used model x with fsd...thanks for the video!

do you have the hw3 and mcu2 upgrade?
Does your 2018 Model X have the vision autopark feature?
It has auto park feature, but I think it's based on ultra sonic sensor.
@@EVSlug-Jack It should be old version autopark.... :(
Waiting for 12.4 on older hw3 intel
Model X 2018 here and still on V11. I did a chip upgrade in 2019 but unsure if it was to hardware 3.0? How to check the hardware version I have?

Which software version are you one ? I'm on 2024.3.15
I have 2.5 in 2024.8.9 so, is posibile V12?
Do you have the park assiste thing ? On the model x ?
If you get everything the new car get in technologie , i will buy a 2018 model x to.

The hardware upgrade didn't change the response speed of entertainment screen
How come? I have a 2020 model x, fsd enabled, and it's still on v11
Have you upgraded to FSD v12 ? Is your model X on hardware 3.0 ?
Is posible on Tesla X 2018 2.5?
I think you will have to upgrade your hardware to 3.0 to be able to get FSD v12, but I would call Tesla and ask
