It may look good , but do check out the front wheel control arms and see if there is any rattle or strange noise under full throttle acceleration. Check the air filter by asking the Tesla rep and see if it has been totally cleaned or replaced at about 40K-50K miles if your used Model X is over 50K miles. The huge air filter is extremely dirty as it is huge and your bio-defense mode won't work as expected if it is dirty. Check to see if all door handles are secured, not loose. Check the panel alignments and see if water leakage has been resulted. Check the Falcon Wing door alignments and see if the door edges been scrubbing the paint of car body while closing. Check to see if the sensors of the self-presenting doors works properly, and also check the falcon wing doors open and close to see if all sensors work as expected and see if the doors detect any objects in the way. Check all hinges and screws. Check lights and see if there is water condensation inside. Check the four wheels alignments by looking at the tires and see if their inner edge to outer edge are evenly worn, if not the camper needs to be adjusted. Check to see if the air suspension works as expected. Check to see if the seldom used brakes have any excessive corrosion and give strange noise under braking. Check to see if the AC unit works as expected, it is a very expensive unit to fix, at least $2,000 USD for the Model Xs. Check to see if the power seats, windows, movable spoilers (on the 2016 Performance model) still work as expected. Check the big center touchscreen and see if it has any purple lines or non-functioning pixels. Check the bluetooth connectivity with your phone. Your phone should also let you see all the information of the car via the Tesla app. Try to do honking via the phone or entering the car via your phone key, try out sentry model and make sure it works. Try out the non-FSD autopilot basic freeway smart cruise function and see if all cameras, radar (if equipped) work as expected. Do they detect obstacles while changing lanes, etc. Try to see if the Model X pulls to either left or right while cruising on freeway. Anything that you detect, you only have one day or 100 miles to let Tesla know else things such as bent rims will be out of your pocket costs. Have fun. I love my Model X.

@lukem5962 None. So far pretty good. I did notice the start up ranging from the big screen and the one in the dash is a bit slow sometimes. No yellowing or pixilations. Also annoying as I take the vehicle to do errands and get the kids as my wife works from home there is no memory settings on the door. After my wife drives I have to lean in and hit my setting as my wife's settings is too small for me to sit after she drove it. Having buttons on the door would make it SO much easier. Great video. You must’ve got a deal, because now used ones with reasonable miles are $85-$100k on Tesla’s inventory. Inflation, whatever, the used ones are crazy expensive now, even to get like 2019-2020 model. My only concern with buying used is you have to worry about how the previous owner treated the batteries? Did they charge to 90-100% a lot, or at a lot of Supercharges? Battery degradation is real, and once this car is out of warranty your SOL. I have a model Y that’s a great car, but I refused to by a used one because of the battery concerns….I think the model X is a nicer car in many ways, but there doesn’t appear to be enough depreciation to make buying used a smart financial decision, because of current prices I guess. Tesla needs to work on their trade in program, they low ball you on a trade, but get top top dollar on their used inventory, that doesn’t really breed brand loyalty for current owners…
I really want a model Y for my next daily but i have always loved the model X and they’re cheap now compared to a few years ago so I might be getting into a model X Thanks for the vide
I Norway we get 2 years second hand warranty, by law. If there is remaining time on factory warranty, you get that, then second hand warranty 2 years from day of delivery after that
Tesla has successfully taken advantage of the market and is customers. I, too, have a 2018 MX, and they really aren't worth it. I love the performance, but after maintenance and the bs, they force when you don't buy through them is unfair. I hope your experience is much better than what i went through.
Congrats and best of luck on your Model X. I'm glad it ticks most of the boxes for you. Personally I would be concerned about lack of warranty going forward. Other than that I agree it's a great pickup.
Ordered a 2017 X 6 seater with 94k miles for $44k plus $2k delivery fee. Picking it up next week. 100D battery with enhanced autopilot. I hope it goes all right. I have a 2023 Y LR.
@@Wulrus_Jones happy so far. Drives well, some acceleration shudder if I floor it. Software and chips are dated and slow. But overall happy with the price and outcome. Official range is 295 miles. I might get 240 miles if I went from 100% to 0. I've put about 10k miles on it since purchase.
@@FluxMD what is the acceleration shudder from? Can you upgrade the software and chips? If so what would it cost? Any other repairs or major spending now with over 100k miles on it?
Nice vid. Im considering this exact year, but the slow closing doors concerns me. Does it get annoying waiting for the doors? Can you close manually? What if it's raining? Thank you!
We are in the process of getting a second tesla and my wife really wants a model x but at $115k I’m like you don’t like the model Y? Lol 😂 Maybe we can get a used Model X..
We’re looking at this like a stepping stone for now. We’re hoping it holds its value by the time the supply chain is under control again and prices go back down. Maybe we’ll trade it in for a new one in a few years. You’re right though, $115 is too much, and isn’t even the one we want. We specifically wanted a 6 seater with white interior, which costs way more. I was expecting a used car to have scratches and dings, but so far this is flawless. We paid the cost of a new Y performance and got a model x that looks almost new. I’m sure you watch “dirty tesla” channel too, and they just bought a brand new refreshed model x and already have to service it for panel gaps and front seat issues. Our only issue was that one tail light. Service told me it’s covered under warranty to replace for free. I’m super happy with this used X so far. Have your wife watch this video. My wife didn’t originally want a used one either, but we got lucky. If you’re not too picky about color choices, I’ve seen some others available with longer range than ours!
Wow what beautiful X I wish I could get one exactly like this one in the future I’d go for a used one like this any day . The only thing is the small battery but I think you did good with this, good luck.
We've already taken it out of state for a road trip, and the smaller battery wasn't that big of a deal. We used the supercharger network along the way to get to our destination and back. The benefit of a larger battery is one less stop on the way and again coming back. I can live with this.
Good info. Ordered the refresh and was going to cancel it due quality issues. Falcon doors not aligning properly. Passenger side has big o gap and driver side has very tight fit and almost rubbing in some points and lower than car body. It probably can be fixed but for 161k car I don't know why they have lack of quality workmanship coming out of the factory. Very unprofessional delivering a car like that. No respect to the customer.
Man I’m very happy for you guys. I’m in the same boat as you. I’m not to proud to get a used Tesla. Looking for your exact model/seating/options. You guys are super lucky to find this amazing deal.
I have no problem for a used Tesla, currently driving a 2020 new Y. But love to trade the X because of the air suspension ( it lasts 100k miles approximately) good luck 👍
@@BecauseTesla Got it. My wife has a BMW X5 45E. She gets 30-50 miles full electric when charged. So my dilemma is should I get a used X that has the options I want. Or get a 2020 Used Y, with more warranty, low miles, FSD, Performance. They are going for about $72-$75k fully loaded with the 21 inch wheels. Honestly the Y is the best deal, but I like the X. Wish me luck lol.
@@generalimac that is a tough decision. This X was upper 70s and is amazing in every way except for range and performance. My wife admits that she doesn’t need performance, and we just took a 400 mile road trip in it with no problem. We used the supercharger network to map out the route. It was fine. If I’m spending 70grand, I would get what I want. But if this is to replace your wife’s car, it’s more important to find out what she wants. The fit and finish of the X is more comparable to the BMW. We traded our 2013 BMW X3 for our Model 3, so I’ve got experience with both brands.
Next time: Start shooting during the selection process, the different models and why you eventually chose the X. Another video during the "waiting" period ;-) Final video of the ACTUAL delivery! Gotta milk this my friend, j/k. Those things would be interesting, no? Came here after searching model X six seater. TY for posting this up!
You are absolutely correct, but this wasn't a well-planned ordeal. It was actually pretty spontaneous. There is a backstory that I didn't go into which includes my wife's ICE vehicle getting damaged and her needing a car ASAP. She bought the car (her money), so I wasn't really there to record things. She asked me for advice about specs, etc, but this was her deal. I will make more videos talking about the process though, so stay tuned...
Would you be able to make a video detailing the portrait screen in 2022. Tesla is shifting towards landscape screen, so their software is being focus towards that. I want to see how the latest software, which was built for landscape screen, works on a portrait screen.
4:35. Personally I don’t see the speak of carbon fiber. It’s not the most attractive at all. Looks rather dull and basic yet there’s all this hype about it that I think is highly overrated. I think a gloss black wood trim looks more stately and elegant.
I bought a used 2021 model 3 and it had some smudges in the interior. Like they can’t get them detailed? All other manufacturers do it. It’s honestly kinda annoying how cheap Tesla is.
I guess it has more to do with the local service center that had that car. I had a totally opposite experience from my service center. The car was detailed and looked brand new!
@@BecauseTesla Thanks! Same color as yours, white interior, immaculate interior and paint. New tires, no curb rash on the wheels, nearly flawless. Runs and drives quietly. Everything is tight and right! The only thing I wish they would have done (which I was able to do myself) was to change the cabin filters and give the AC condenser coils a cleaning. But given the rest of the condition, it's almost not even worth mentioning.
Do you think model x 90d 2016 with 140,000 kilometers in excellent condition worth 63 thousand euros? It comes with lifetime worldwide free Tesla supercharging
Is it being sold through Tesla or a 3rd party? Here in the US, if you buy it used from Tesla, they will often give you 1 year of warranty. Our Model X ran out of factory warranty this summer, but that extended warranty from Tesla covers us until next summer. So we're using this year to have them fix as many major and minor issues that we can find. EVs have fewer moving parts, so less things to fail underneath. I would not be as concerned with the amount of kilometers on it as I would a petrol car. That price may be reasonable, especially with free charging.
can you open the gull wing doors inside the garage, when the garage door is open? it looks like clearance is too low and there is a possibility for damage to garage door and the Model X
Yes I can, but it doesn’t open all the way. There are proximity sensors on the roof and also on each door to tell it how much it can open so it won’t damage anything. It’s pretty smart actually.
I believe it is only for new vehicles. We bought our MX used also, and the codes didn’t work. The new vehicles get all the benefits like tax credits, etc.
Ours was upgraded to v2 before we bought it, so it's good. If you ordered yours from Tesla, the spec sheet should mention which version is coming with it.
Hi there, I was wondering if you have any issues with the build quality? I understand that Tesla's materials are not German car quality but do you get any squeaks/rattles when driving along and is the cabin noisy when at highway speeds?
We did have a squeaky front suspension, so we brought it in to Tesla service, and they replaced the upper control arm because of its ball joint bushing that failed. It's a sealed bushing, so I couldn't just regrease it myself. This was free under warranty. Other than that, nothing else major to report.
Paid more than we originally wanted, but those prices keep going up every week! Last year we could have had this same car for mid 60k, but we paid in the 70s. We feel pretty good about it still since we priced out a brand new one with the same specs and it came out to $130k. That's nearly half off! We just looked at used inventory again, and the prices for similar specs are still going up into the 80s now.
No other down payment. Just $500 to reserve it, which covers the cost of them transporting it to my local service center to pick up. The rest is paid when you pick it up. They can finance it, pay with a cashiers check, or wire it from your bank.
The new Model X does, but this used one does not. However, I installed one in it and it works great! Here’s my video about the wireless charger: ruclips.net/video/BG9s_bqPhis/видео.html
It has the hardware to support it, but we would have to pay $12,000 to enable the software, so we passed on that. I have FSD on my Model 3, so we can experience it there.
Congrats. We just picked up our refreshed 2022 last week so I can relate to owning a Model X. This car is amazing. If I didn’t have a Cybertruck on order, I’d probably would get a second Model X and get a used one.
Congrats on the X!I would love to own an used Model X one day, preferable a long range one to offset our performance Y, I just love the gull wing doors compared to the conventional doors on the new ones. What the insurance looks like on the X?
Insurance is nearly twice as much as my Model 3, but the cost to replace the X is 3 times as much, so I understand why it costs so much. I pay about $75/mo for model 3, and about $128/mo for the X. I could pay less, but have higher deductibles.
Just saw this on the news: Tesla Remotely Disabled 80 Miles Of Range From Customer’s Car Demanding $4,500, Backtracks When The Web Finds Out. //You don't really own it. They can mess you up if they feel like it
Review is focusing on all the wrong things, alignment, gaskets, signs of leaks, maintenance records. Dust, and dirt from driving on the outside shouldn’t be a focus
Ummm 70K for a 5 year old car? Yes teslas are great but do you think you may have bought at the peak of overpriced vehicle hysteria in the states? Just bought a 3 year old S for $20K less. Feel a bit bad for seller but my purchase price was just based on normal depreciation etc.
$70k for a 4 yr old car. A new one with the same options is $130k. So I’m looking at it as nearly half off for my dream car in mint condition with still another year of warranty. Congrats on your S! That is a great deal, but certainly not the norm around here.
I've been going back and forth trying to convince myself to snag a used Model X. It's the vehicle I want the most right now ( aside from the cybertruck). Great video!
Thanks for watching. You may find this other video of mine interesting as well. I borrowed a 2017 Model S, and I was impressed with the quality of that older used car! ruclips.net/video/Ytz7S969zWo/видео.html
You need to get yourself a model S now never let your wife have a better car then you. It starts to get to there head and they start thinking there better then you.. Also do a chrome delete
Never buy a 75D MODEL X. 90kWh is the minimum that a MODEL X needs. If TESLA was not so pig-headed about battery swapping these cars could easily be updated with larger batteries. The architecture was built for battery swapping.
I just went on the Tesla used inventory page to look at Model X prices. I dunno man, they're still really expensive. If the prices do eventually tank, I would look at it as an amazing opportunity to buy one. I've owned dozens of cars, and my Teslas are by far my favorites!
Yeah who needs so much speed anyway So you felt like. Classic model X is better for you. With 6 seater Like model y bec its screen is flat And wind screen isn’t that big like the X. More storage capacity inthe back Five seater 😂 Can’t wait for the 2025 model Y With harmen karden speakers. 😂😂

I really want a model Y for my next daily but i have always loved the model X and they’re cheap now compared to a few years ago so I might be getting into a model X
Thanks for the vide
I Norway we get 2 years second hand warranty, by law.
If there is remaining time on factory warranty, you get that, then second hand warranty 2 years from day of delivery after that
I wish we had that here in the states.
Hoping to replace our MY with a used MX. After getting the MY last April, by September, I was wishing I got the MX.
I gave you a thumbs up for rockin' the chrome dome!!!
Thanks! I bought it directly from Tesla, so they gave me an extra year of warranty. 😎
Not a pickup
Got my CPO Model X recently and couldn’t be happier!
Ordered a 2017 X 6 seater with 94k miles for $44k plus $2k delivery fee. Picking it up next week. 100D battery with enhanced autopilot. I hope it goes all right. I have a 2023 Y LR.
How did it hold up?
Thank you!

how?
That carbon fiber interior is awesome
Beard has got to go looks to dammed scrageelly
Yeah it’s a mini van on the inside and a cool suv on the outside
How do the falcon doors work in the garage? We live in Northeast and put the cars in the garage during winter and get into the car while in the garage
Congrats on the new X! Pretty awesome. I wonder what kind of deal I could get on an X with my 2018 LR AWD Dual Motor Model 3 as trade in?
Search for the tesla trade in page and they’ll give you a free estimate on a trade in.
Hello . Just wondering how this vehicle is holding up ? Still in good shape ? Any issues ? Thanks
Can you explain about battery life for used teslas? How fast they degrade, or any maintenance should be done when you get used vechicle?
It’s very clean. Love the carbon fiber.
The carbon is my favorite part. It still looks great!
That is awesome Dude. Congrats
This has 35k miles, so we have a while. We looked at the Y, but it is too similar to my model 3. If I didn’t have a 3, then I would get the Y.
@@generalimac if $ is no object, goes for the top, X. As for warranty I don't think Tesla EV is a concern
How much was this vehicle from tesla ? Thanks
What was your range?
I will make more videos talking about the process though, so stay tuned...
can middle row be folded flat or removed ?
Why wouldn't you say which year this model x is in the description?
🤷🏻♂️
I just added it to the description, just for you 😃
You got a like because of the introduction!!
Awesome!! What is your charging set up for charging 2 cars?
Tesla wall charger with over 20” cable, so it extends across to both cars. We just take turn charging. It’s been working well so far.
Would you be able to make a video detailing the portrait screen in 2022. Tesla is shifting towards landscape screen, so their software is being focus towards that. I want to see how the latest software, which was built for landscape screen, works on a portrait screen.
That’s a great idea. I’ll strongly consider that.
Just ordered a model x performance with fsd for 68k less than the equivalent model y performance I can't wait
Congrats! I’m excited for you!
Love the color
Did your car come with the Mobile Connector Kit and J1772 adapter? I know NEW is not included anymore. How about their used inventory?
Yes it did come with those items.
Just bought a used Model 3 from Tesla. Exceeded our expectations in every way.
That's amazing! Congrats!
@@BecauseTesla thanks! I thought that might be the case, but wanted to double check. Thanks for the quick reply
Hey man this is nice.
Looks clean. U think Tesla will swap my m/3 with a X or Y?
Enjoyed this video even though it’s a year old review. I’m in the market for the same specs and model x, hope I can obtain a 6 seater as well
If I use your code, will it work for a used MX? I saw $1k off +3mo SC, but doubt that is for used.
I believe it is only for new vehicles. We bought our MX used also, and the codes didn’t work. The new vehicles get all the benefits like tax credits, etc.
Hows the MCU on the 2018 model x? Im getting mine soon
Ours was upgraded to v2 before we bought it, so it's good. If you ordered yours from Tesla, the spec sheet should mention which version is coming with it.
i consider myself pretty brave with stuff, but i couldn't do a used 5 year old 60k car with only a 1 year warranty. That's a bit hairy scary.
Apparently you have not owned a Toyota. 😋
bought a used 2018 model 3 year later battery popped i have a bill for 16k now.. I’m pissed.
I thought you can get the more cheaper than that
Crazy to think you can buy these for $60k now. The price has gone down so drastically. I hope I can buy a used one in a year or two.
@@BecauseTesla does the interior make any rattles?
@@jackjoyce1744 I have not heard many rattles at all. I hear more in my Model 3 than this X. The Model X does feel more solid overall.
At this date, do you mind sharing how much did you pay? Keep in mind current time and situation for future readers
@because Tesla how much was the down payment beside the $500.00
No other down payment. Just $500 to reserve it, which covers the cost of them transporting it to my local service center to pick up. The rest is paid when you pick it up. They can finance it, pay with a cashiers check, or wire it from your bank.
Great job!
does it has phone wireless charging?
The new Model X does, but this used one does not. However, I installed one in it and it works great! Here’s my video about the wireless charger: ruclips.net/video/BG9s_bqPhis/видео.html
man i need to buy this car!
Was the carbon fiber added or is it actually OE
This matte carbon fiber is OE, and it looks amazing!
😂😂love the intro
Didn't even know Tesla sold used ones. I just assumed they sent them to dealerships or auctions.
This is a great review! tysm
Good choice. Great video!

Around 35k miles
@@BecauseTesla thanks! Would love to see a follow up video on how it’s been after one year
@@graysonatlas Thanks for the suggestion. I'll work on that :)
Does your Model X support FSD?
It has the hardware to support it, but we would have to pay $12,000 to enable the software, so we passed on that. I have FSD on my Model 3, so we can experience it there.
How much did you exactly pay? Im getting the same one for $77k
Exactly the same as you 😎
Congrats. We just picked up our refreshed 2022 last week so I can relate to owning a Model X. This car is amazing. If I didn’t have a Cybertruck on order, I’d probably would get a second Model X and get a used one.
Fuck electric
Congratulations! It’s beautiful
Fuck electric. Get a real car
Congratulations 😊😊
The silver looks a lot like grey.
It’s definitely grey, but Tesla calls it midnight silver. 🤷🏻♂️

great informative video

im getting me a used tesla model x. ❤
Wow, congrats on the new car! I'm jealous!
Don’t be. It’s not close to being as nice as your new garage. 😎
For some reason, the windshield reminds me of a receding hairline
I've been going back and forth trying to convince myself to snag a used Model X. It's the vehicle I want the most right now ( aside from the cybertruck).
Great video!
Thanks for watching. You may find this other video of mine interesting as well. I borrowed a 2017 Model S, and I was impressed with the quality of that older used car! ruclips.net/video/Ytz7S969zWo/видео.html

I have a Tesla 3 honestly I hate it I'm sure the x is much better but the 3 and the y are not great cars
I also have a Model 3 and love mine. What do you hate about yours?
Never buy a 75D MODEL X. 90kWh is the minimum that a MODEL X needs. If TESLA was not so pig-headed about battery swapping these cars could easily be updated with larger batteries. The architecture was built for battery swapping.
Looks like a model y
looks like a car
9 months later, the prices of Teslas have tanked 💀
I just went on the Tesla used inventory page to look at Model X prices. I dunno man, they're still really expensive. If the prices do eventually tank, I would look at it as an amazing opportunity to buy one. I've owned dozens of cars, and my Teslas are by far my favorites!
