    As a Honda tech as well imma say this man knows his shit, everything he said is 100%. I’ve built a lot of lsv/b20v setups. if u want it to run like a type r motor do it right cam tuning/ignition timing is always a lil off. Breather setup is also important. Great info bro👍

    Thank you for being one of the most fun and informative Honda tuning channels out there. Instead of just reviewing tuned cars like alot of channels,which is fine, but you also provide us (DIY'ers) important information that very straight foward.     A big issue with the timing on a P73 map for a stock B20V is the cam profile of the P73 engine which the ecu map is designed for. The Type R cams have more lift and duration and therefore require a cooler plug (BKR7E vs the BKR6E for the GSR/B16) Whether you are running P73 cams or not, but especially if you are, you should always run the BKR7E in a B20V. This is more of a bandaid approach as ideally the setup should be tuned, but if your running just a basemap run the cooler plugs as well. It goes a long way to help with pre ignition. Also it should go without saying to use premium fuel always in a high comp VTEC engine. 91 minimum 93 is better.

    I have a D16 and even though it is information about a B series you have helped me out so much!!! Just installed the Skunk2 Pro Series intake and a H22a throttle body with a 70mm spacer and it has this problem where it goes up and down in idle.. You have now helped me so much!! Thankyou ^_^ Will jump on this fix tomorrow

    The fluctuating idles in Hondas I have seen have all been caused by vacuum leaks. Have seen only seen one related to IACV (coolant related) The others were all FITV/idle screw adjustment issues or other vacuum leaks (brake booster/cruise control ports)

    Great info didn't know that!!! With that knowledge I see where coil packs on b series motors can be useful. U could tune it for timing and get best at low rpm and high rpm

    I would use 0-30 5-30 or 10-30 oil in the older b d h and f motors. surprising to me was that mobil 1 0-30 is a direct replacement for 5 or 10 30 oils. the benefit is miniscule fuel mileage increases

    I bought a civic with a b16 and it had a surging idle. I popped the radiator cap off and it was about a quart low. Topped it off and bled, idle problem gone.

    Hey I have a 2000 h22a4 bolted to a 92 prelude si lsd manual transmission I was running the stock h23a1 harness to engine but which ecu will safely run that engine without running it to lean

    20-50 oil here running loose and keeping the cushion on the crank and not a problem but not for stock tollarances with the berrings run loose and 20-50 and never spin another berring ever!!!!

    I kinda used 10w40 for a decade plus now. never felt it was too thick because once it warms up, it becomes thinner anyway.
    I've tried 0w20, I didn't notice a marked difference (if there was supposed to be one)
    no winters at my place though, so I guess might be related to weather?

    I love the information you give to and videos you put out. I have a question that im having a hard time getting answered. Suspension top hat bushings. My mine are bad and idk which ones to order to replace mine with as i can not find anything through the skunk2 replacement site. I have a 96 Integra on skunk2 coilovers. its the rubber/polyurethane that sits in the wholes on the strut bar. Thanks!

    i have a jdm sir bottom end with sir2 head n my car tends to go into limp mode in the morning when i hit vtec but in the after noon when its warmer it dont do it i installed new dizzy bought vms 10.2 mm spark plug wires and ngk plugs what cam it be

    I'm trying to do the timing on my b18b1 with p8r head, the INTAKE cam isn't rotating freely and will NOT line up with the exhaust cam and the head because the intakecam is pressing on rockers too hard and tweaks out of timing. ANYONE ever have this problem and fix it? Because I'm about to snap bolts and fuck things up and could reeeeally use the help

    watching this video made me wanna ask you a ton of questions man for example i got my b16a tuned with full exhaust intake header and skunk 2 cams and got it dyno tuned but it actually didnt make as much power as i hoped it would have. the tuner told me that basically the block is old and the compression wasnt there. should i start with a compression test first?

    Can you give some tips about emissions!?
    My project car 94 Honda civic DX automatic California emissions swapping a 98 B18b1 automatic California emissions just need to know if I have to rewire the evap solenoid at the engine harness so it will match the evap wires on the passenger side shock tower plugs or is just a plug and play...

    The problem i'm having is that I had bad fluctuating idle like you described, where it revs up and down from 1500-2500 but not all the time, then my rotor broke on my ebay distributor, so I rebuilt my oem dizzy with new igniter/coil. I need to get my ignition timing done but I cant get the car to idle properly! Sometimes at 1k at idle, then sometimes drops to 400 about to stall, I just got a new battery too, and another used Iac valve. Ideas?

    What would you recommend for the oil line to the head when doing a b20v swap? Sandwich plate or "T" off the oil pressure sensor? I've hear pros and cons to both. Just wondering if you or anyone can share some expertise on this. Thanks

    I have a question? I know you said it best to have your ecu chipped and tuned to run correct but I live in CT and I have to do emissions. I have a 00 civic ex with a jdm b20b block with a b16a2 head, I don't know if you guys know but what ecu could I use just pass emissions? I've heard the obd2b gsr ecu's have ignitions immobilizer but can't find a correct answer about the 99-00 civic si ecu if they have immobilizers but even still would the b20vtec even run or run ok with that ecu? please if any info it would be of great help.

    hey guys hope u can answer this. I have a 97 acura cl, the engine is a f23a1 PAA is the head cast. I changed the cylinder head but realized it was a POA cast instead. car won't rev past 3 grand very slight chance that it will. is the wrong head the problem?

    Why do i need to run premium gas for b20vtec ive used 87 for my stock b20 and it runs perfect does changing the head and all that require premium what if i use 87 for b20vtec??

      Michael C over the years I've had to sell my cars, to keep the channel going. I really miss that car the most. You can see pics when it was finished and painted on our Facebook and Instagram pages. I've tried to buy it back from the current owner but he will not let it go.

      Honda Street Garage Well I appreciate the sacrifice you've made to keep the channel up and going. Maybe buy another Wago and take it to where you wanted your last one to go in the future.
