    Love how the table turned out. That is a beautiful slab, loved seeing the picture of the log it came from as well!

      Thanks Tom! When I called that company I was so surprised they immediately remembered the exact log and got back to me within 20 minutes with the original pictures.

    I didn't see any issues with your first Rubio application...I've watched Cam Anderson apply it the same way many times. Looks great

      Thank you! Up close it was “streaking” which was probably not an issue I’d just never done it before and got a little nervous. 😃 The reason I applied the second coat is actually because Cams got a great table finishing class that I watched where he said he worked with Rubio to develop that whole “red scotchbrite and second coat process.” Up close it really did look a bit shinier after.

    Great Video! You really did a good job showing the steps of the process and it turned out really nice. Was that blue cabinet one of your videos in the reveal?

      Thank you! The folks that I bought it from, and their distributor called it “Eyeck” (pronounced I-yeck) and the info the distributor sent me said the botanical name was “Pachyelasma Tessmannii.”

    Looks amazing!!! How does the water make the grain stand up and what does that really mean?

    • @BearhawkStudio
      @BearhawkStudio  4 месяца назад +1

      I don’t know the science of it all, but if you just sand through and put a coat of finish; it causes the fibers to stand up and it’ll still feel really rough, even though it’s shiny , but taking a break to throw some water on it and knocking all those fibers down makes it slicker’n snot. 😆
