... so much for the other weirdo comments. Enjoyable video! The best plates are still the old ones, the best beer is the best tasting one but ironically it is a lager, and the best LED is probably the newer one. But things appear deceptive. Interestingly, all the yellowness appears to be done to camouflage away the division of the LED array into four quadrants; the centre square and gaps of which were identified as the reasons for uneven illumination and darkened central spot. So I wonder if people just think they are not seeing uneven illumination or somehow the yellow dome and yellow die base scatters the dark spots away (especially since the colour temperature is unchanged). Most likely the latter explanation is in effect. A rational supported if only arrays with divided quadrants are getting yellowed. So have all the X.2 upgrades been yellowed or just the larger ones with visible quadrants? If all are getting yellowed then that effect may also help illumination in further other ways. Interesting, how companies don’t explicitly reveal their upgraded design strategies in the advertising literature.
hahah thank you for the video, very informative!!! I looked at the serving plate and i was like "hmmm that's eastern tech" looked at the name.. Vlad hahaha :p (My granny has the sameeeeeeeeeee)
Another difference is that the 4 dies are closer together which makes a more uniform beam. That way flashlights no longer need orange peel reflectors and can just use smooth ones with the second generation XHP
OK video, good for beginner light enthusiast. Just try and make a bit shorter and that would probably help. Make a small video plan outline and stick to the points without repeating and you'll be good. I up-voted also; Hope this helps.
Max.lumens are their differences but not that much. Without lumens tester you cant tell the difference by just looking at their beam pointed to an object. I have the 70 first gen..and so powerful enough for my application which is motorcycle headlight.
LOL...i wonder y so many thumb down.............think title should put........ Difference between XLamp Cree XHP70 and Cree XHP70.2 .....instead of VS......kind of misleading
It would be nice if you could get straight to the point. Point out the differences visually would take 1 min. And the also see the difference in performance (powered-on), since you have "vs" in the title.
I know but then I would get negative comments like " This is boring as hell, you could get a little more creative to make it more interesting" Next time I will make two videos of each item to make everyone happy but I'm sure there will still be someone complaining. I can't make everyone happy no matter how hard I try. ....... Those two have not noticeable difference in light power.
@@VladFredK no my flashlight is brand new i get it in good deal its the trustfire mc3 and comes with the xhp50 led from my collection i find our that cree leds have more coll white tent than luminos and i like that thanks for your help and kindnes mate
No it doesn't. Even at bin the cbt-140 says around 3,600 lumen and the xhp70.2 says around 4,000 lumen. The xhp70.2 can be pushed to over 9,000 lumen at 145w with proper cooling.

Hi vlad if i have a xhp50 led flashlight it make a difference if i will switch to xhp50.2 thanx
you won't notice any difference unless your XHP50 is old and used a lot. They tend to loose brightness over time.

Yes

When it comes to shear lumins the Luminus CBT-140 has it beat though way less efficient.
