At the start of 2019, a buddy of mine showed me this video. I had no idea there was a scene dedicated to going fast on longboards. I immediately went out and bought myself a Sector9 Downhill Division setup, gloves, helmet, and a new pair of Vans. 2 and a half years later, I am entering into my first race (Bakersfield Outlaw) and freeride event (Maryhill ROVD). I have made some of my best friends that I have ever had, have traveled across the western US, and have matured and become a better person overall. Thank you, Crunchie, for inspiring me to participate in this extreme sport and creating the content you did. It has changed my life.

Downhill longboarding is insane! I ride motorcycles and I wouldn't even imagine going that fast on a bicycle let alone a skateboard! Much props. keep doing rad shit
At the moment I'm honestly way too afraid of gaining too much speed, so really I'm only learning to longboard so that I can travel quickly in certain places, but this definitely would be incredible to attempt one day!
if you know how to fall correctly you should be fine, if you fall at high speed get on your hands and knees so all of your weight is put on the gloves and knee pads, and if if you mess that up the helmet should protect you
if it looks you you should get into it. longboarding is so much fun. it's gonna be a long time before you get to anything like this but even sidewalk surfing is tons of fun.

I busted like this at 32 kph (20 mph) I wasn't wearing a helmet thankfully I'm ok I'm wearing a helmet form now on once I recover I want to go down the same hill I busted on. Thisntime with protective gear on.

as long as you have the correct board, you should try downhill speed boarding, it feels amazing when are going 30 mph down a hill
