Some countries in south america use the "standard" system still. Fellow americans to get mph from kilometers just multiply by .6, its elementary stuff really.
I always come back to this video every few months and rewatch. Love the feel of the whole thing, from the epic long boarding to the amazingly fitting song. The whole thing just chills me out!

I just realized I have never commented on this video, but I feel that I need to. I'd like you guys to know that this is my single-most favortie video on youtube, and i've often come back to watch it throughout the months. Everytime I watch it again I just get the most amazing wave of inspiration and i would like to thank you for that. Never stop doing what you guys are doing!
At the start of 2019, a buddy of mine showed me this video. I had no idea there was a scene dedicated to going fast on longboards. I immediately went out and bought myself a Sector9 Downhill Division setup, gloves, helmet, and a new pair of Vans. 2 and a half years later, I am entering into my first race (Bakersfield Outlaw) and freeride event (Maryhill ROVD). I have made some of my best friends that I have ever had, have traveled across the western US, and have matured and become a better person overall. Thank you, Crunchie, for inspiring me to participate in this extreme sport and creating the content you did. It has changed my life.
And here I am still struggling to stand on mine without falling

At the moment I'm honestly way too afraid of gaining too much speed, so really I'm only learning to longboard so that I can travel quickly in certain places, but this definitely would be incredible to attempt one day!
if you know how to fall correctly you should be fine, if you fall at high speed get on your hands and knees so all of your weight is put on the gloves and knee pads, and if if you mess that up the helmet should protect you
as long as you have the correct board, you should try downhill speed boarding, it feels amazing when are going 30 mph down a hill

It is still important to wear it. If you slide and scrape your head against the ground it will definitely help.

May be one of your best videos to date! I have a question for some longboarders, do the colors of your wheels matter to make white streaks when you slide? I have purple wheels and they never leave a mark.
James3160 might depend on the type of urethane the wheels are made of as well! Butterballs for example are white, and they leave realllyyyy clear thick white streaks when they slide
James3160 For the majority of wheels, the thane is white, regardless of the wheel color. However, there are some wheels, such as skiddles, churchill red eyes, amber thane abec 11's, etc. that do leave a different color thane based on their urethane formula.
James3160 it depends on the road conditions. if the road is kinda tar or oily from built up of pollution you might not leave any marks. If its a nice dry road you will leave marks
James3160 you need to be going really fast so that you are sliding for a long time before the wheel starts to thane, ie. as the wheel warms from the friction of sliding it will deposit more urethane
