This is going to sound a bit weird but you’re one of the few RUclipsrs that actively torques bolts to spec on camera and I find that incredibly satisfying.
I found your channel trying to find an in-depth guide or at least some good product recommendations for when I go to restore and sbc swap my 88 s10. I have loved this entire series and almost everything you have done to your truck I have wanted to do to mine for a long time. Thank you for the in-depth veiw into working on these trucks and the amazing info!
Lol I was not aware you were making new content/projects. I just purchased a 2000 s10 with 70k miles and one owner. It's stuck in Oregon but will get it next week.
awsome video kyle the s10 looks really good likeing the engine and its comeing alot good long process for you but good its bin so long that it felt like you alredy did the ls swap lol really enjoyed this one and this came into mind for your future content you should do a ls motor swap in that chev silverodo you got you could do it its an idea thumbs up and shared
welcome back kyle, happy new year, are you planning on bed liner for this s10 ? do you still have the white monte carlo ? do a channel update video please
"Break In" depends on a lot of things. Traditionally, you'd want to use conventional oil when breaking in older engines, even more important though is using an oil with high zinc/phosphorous if you have a flat tappet cam, otherwise you can risk wiping out the cam. Newer engines are more synthetic friendly, it basically boils down to personal preference. The LS engines have hydraulic roller lifters, not flat tappets. There's no strict "break in" period on these like there would be an old SBC, however, you still want to practice common sense and run the engine in appropriately for 500 miles or so. There are a lot of opinions on what you should and shouldn't do and most of it just boils down to experience.
@@saabkyle04 The reason i was always told not to break in with synthetic is so that the rings have a chance to seal properly and then switch to synthetic.
Kyle, with those other builds you got going on its good to see you getting back on track with the S10. So looking forward to seeing how it all comes together in future videos. Curious, do you still have the S15 Jimmy or did you end up selling it?
Too many lol. In all seriousness, between my wife and I, we have 6 vehicles that are considered projects, including the '89 S10, '89 240SX, '69 Chevelle, '96 K1500, '85 Monte Carlo and the '62 GMC C1000. My focus at the moment is getting the Monte Carlo and S10 "finished". The K1500 is finished for the moment and we just started on the Chevelle's metal work this week. The others are on the back burner for the moment. Gotta try and get some things out of the way lol.
Kyle you realy need a helper i can tell to do youtube editing and video and all the mechanical work is hard, a second person to help you is a must kyle

Yeah man, you'd be amazed at how many people will actually call you out on that so I always try to show some of it on camera
Yes I agree, I was beginning to think torque wrenches had been outlawed or something! Awesome build Kyle!
Looking good kyle love the old school low key paint scheme it going to look sweet
I think so too! Thanks!
your builds are an inspiration, very clean and meticulous, good luck kyle and god bless
I appreciate that!

👌👌very nice project love it...
This guy makes me want to rush out and buy oil!! 😂💪I don't even have a car 😭
LOLOLOL
nice work ......look into hydro boost insted of a brake booster ...you will have alot more room ...
I ended up getting one of those compact dual diaphragm boosters to make it "simple", I'll share how it works out in a future video!
welcome back kyle, happy new year, are you planning on bed liner for this s10 ? do you still have the white monte carlo ? do a channel update video please
Time to get a normal hood and get rid of the scoop look. That would make this build much better once done
Sorry, I like the cowl hood, that's why I bought it in the first place
If you ever want to sell this pickup after you are done with it, I will buy it in a heartbeat!
This is awesome ! I want to swap an LS engine in my Alfa Romeo 😝
what valve covers and Coil Packs are you using i like that a coil pack bracket isnt needed.
Thks for the video what think on the holley sniper injection
Great video, what headers did you use for this swap?
I own a 91 Chevy Silverado 2wd single cab. How would you go about replacing cab mounts?
Should you be using full synthetic to breaking our new (rings) motor? I didn’t think so…..
I always heard if a motor was freshly rebuilt, that you do not want to use full synthetic for break in.
Break in normally is 500 miles.

What size tires you running on those Monte Carlo rims?
Kyle, with those other builds you got going on its good to see you getting back on track with the S10.

I sold it not too long after the series concluded. Ended up going to California!
Floor shifter an alternative to column shift?
Why do all these LS/S10 swappers put the engine and trans in together? Couldn’t they be installed separately?
Make a list of parts you needed for the swap
You said that you are installing an 8" dual diaphragm brake booster. What's the Part # on that?
Happy new year, Kyle! I'd love to see some more Nissan content. I don't think you ever finished that project did you?
No, it's not finished, there's just not enough hours in the day. I'm trying to whittle through all I've gotten myself into at the moment haha
@@saabkyle04 I get it. You have taken on quite a bit as of late haha. I'm loving how the S-10 is coming along.
Hi Kyle
What part number is the pan 302-1 or 302-2???
What rear end is in your truck
So are we gonna see anything done with the crew cab s10?
No, I let that go a long time ago
What ever happened to the bagged truck project?
I let it go a long time ago
So how many vehicles you got now? Not being rude or anything, just curious lol
