- Hello Homeskoolers....I want to send out a HUGE thank you to my old pal Hugh Gilmartin for sending out this killer new Marshall JTM Studio amp for me to try....man, what a cool amp.
These are BRAND NEW models that Marshall just released...they are available in head/2x12 cab or 1x12 combos.
Also, as you can see, i have a few items for sale in this video....as always these items are being sold on a "first come first serve" basis, kinda like the tickets were at that Who concert at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati back in December of 1979....
If you want one of these items please email me at tombukovac@gmail.com
1967 Epiphone Al Caiola guitar with case. $5800.00 shipped domestic US
Both of these amps are 1500.00 apiece and will be sold local pickup only...no shipping
1960s Epiphone Zephyr 1x12 combo
1960's Ampeg ET-2 Super Echo Twin 2x12 combo
Compare to prices on Reverb and you will see those are VERY fair prices
Ok, thats it for now kids
Your such a thoughtful player. That stuff touched me man. Thank you.
Your opening jams are always so tasty, Tom!!! I love watching your face as you create these masterpieces! You are totally in the zone. Thanks, as always, for sharing yourself with all of us homeschoolers!!!
I for one, am really glad you've worked your ass off so that you can create these wonderful soundscapes through your fingers. Your pain comes through. Thank you!
What beautiful music 🙏 the Marshall sounds great with your playing too. These new smaller / studio versions are so cool and great for playing at home.
This needs to find its way to an album. The Marshall sounds incredible too!
My god, Tom... such beautiful playing man ... The music that seems to just flow from you is magical ...Thank you
I was already interested in those new Marshall’s. You’ve sealed the deal for me
Happy Friday "Larry"! Man I sit at my desk every day wanting to retire. I listen to you play, noodle, talk the basic shit and it gets me through the day. I guess I am one of those guys that is pretty easy to entertain. I think you are the best in the business, all around my favorite to watch and listen to. You have done a huge service to all of us who sit and pound on a keyboard all day! Thanks man, much appreciated...
Love the Rolling Rock shirt! More importantly, you play with such feel and passion. Always great.
By far the best demo of the new JTM! 🤘🤘
Dang man - so good! Some righteous Daniel Lenois business going down! Love it - fantastic channel dude. Thanks for the inspiration.
What a great tone! Beautiful playing as always
what a beautiful piece in the beginning, love this chords...the Marshall sound gorgeous. I bought a 1974x some time ago, also 20W but with EL84.
Tom, just caught this, that Amp sounds soo killer and I have never heard one feedback like that clean! Awesome!
I want one!
Yeah, finally Marshall comes out with some thing I really want but that’s just a lot of cash there!
Tom, that playing was just beautiful !!!
Good evening Mr. Bukovac. Don't comments but the intro really spoke to me. Enjoying it. Hope this isn't t a throw away. Thank you.
Very nice. I can tell its overtones of a clean marshall ! Sweet tones !
Wow, excellent... put that one on your next release brother! Love it. Thanks for the post and have a great weekend! 😎👍
Jacked the settings of that JTM for my baby Plexi. Perfection, thanks Tom, as always.
EVERY time I listen to your videos I pick up my guitar. Not because of the awesome chops, but the melodic content I always hear in your playing. Thanks for the content 🙏 I have become a much better guitar player just my trying to incorporate these ideas etc. Thank you 🙏
Your tones are sublime as always Uncle Larry!
The JTM Studio is rated at just 20 watts (full power) and 5 watts (low power). Just perfect for recording and small club gigs.
Always fantastic, I'm hooked Uncle Larry's cabin
A testament Tom buddy to your previous sage advice about the importance of quality of touch to playing
Just beautiful
Beautiful work tonight. Feeling it in my bones.
That amp/guitar combo is righteous in tone. Wow.
Wow! So good Tom! That Epi Casino sounds magnificent as well!
Hey Larry, Watched every show. love you for the information, education and motivation. Started playing late in life but your insights have provides doses of reality to keep me on track.
He plays like John Lennon would write a song. Like they have this magic key to your soul and they can turn it seemingly pretty easy. Gifted
Those Marshall "Studio" amps are terrific. They have a Plexi, JCM 800, and Silver Jubilee as well and they're shockingly good for the money.
great stuff! dig your thang, am happy as Uncle Larry keep em comin
Dammit Man…….
Your intros are ALWAYS EPIC !!!!
Cool stuff, Unc! Long ago I used a borrowed old Ampeg combo that had a vu meter on it. Single 12" .. it was a great sounding little amp. Played the ReverbRocket for a while as well, plus a V4 half stack that was very cheap at the time. Good old NJ company .. Ampeg.
Beautiful play! Great amp
Hey Tom, l have the combo version of the JTM Studio. I love it and I'm glad to hear that it really is faithful to the old Plexi's as I've never been able to play through a real one from the 60s.
Sounds excellent! Glad you're getting on with it :)
Folks mistakenly think Marshalls are only good for crunch. Love these delicious tones Tom. Will have to consider one of these.
what a haunting chord progression , lov that sound !
Of course I remember that Gruhn’s video. That was the one where you also played the lefty ‘63 SG Special that I now own… Thanks for telling me to buy that guitar. It was a good decision.
My favorite guitar ever! This is awesome.!
Man, I love to hear you play!
I just love how you are playing the hollow body guitar with P90s just at that edge of feedback...and working that just "starting to feedback" into the playing...
I have Al Caiola album's. One of the top NYC session players of the 50's and 60's dominated by guys of Italian background, such as Vinnie Bell who invented the electric sitar used by Steely Dan on Do it Again. Vinnie is the player on the Twin Peaks theme with his famous watery sound. He also played in Sinatra's live band.
I want that ampeg, but I am saving for a P2P Deluxe Reverb... always so loaded with content. THANKS BUK!!!
That Sustain / Controlled Feedback!!!!!!!!! Very nice.
Excellent... What a tone + vibe!
Love listening to you make the guitar sing man. For gear talk, can you discuss the office chair with arms...lol. Looking forward to the next album. Thanks Tom!
[I love it. And I hope you keep that mothertruckin light on for those in the dimmer section]
That guitar and amp sound great together! I love my Epiphones, I would buy that in a heartbeat but no shipping to Mexico. I remember well that Who concert in Cincinnati, I was in Pittsburgh at the time. Shook concert goers, and the world really, to the bone.
Amazing intro Buk 👌
Once again Tom shows us how to use the entire fretboard when creating his magic music.
absolutely beautiful magical music sir! A JTM 45 in the kitchen - clearly I need to lift my ‘house-amp’ game 😂
I grew up close to Cincinnati and remember that story well even though I was like 10. Although I am not a Brown's fan that JB pic is quite awesome. What a player.
Brilliant tune thanks
The Marshall sounds great
Oh man that epiphone is dope as hell!
Captain! You are absolutely on fire right now. This is when you strike as the iron is hot! Please go create some more awesome material, Buk!
Thanks, I needed that!
These 20 watt studio Marshall’s are awesome!
Please record that one day. Amazing sir.
Adding to my earlier comment . How can you let that guitar go ?. But then again you have played them all . Us mere mortals just dream of owning such rarities.
Cool stuff Uncle Larry...
Wow that guitar sounds amazing
20 watts down to 5 I have the sv20h super lead version of this jtm awesome amps . Need them both the cabs are looking killer aswell man very nice little looking sounding sets.
Wow, the Epi is beautiful. I knew before you said it that it had to be hollow. Like a 330 with added cap circuit I suppose. Al Caiola at that ! Didn't realize there was such a model. Be a fun video to see all the artists model vintage guitars by lesser known players from ye olden days. Buddy Merrill model anyone?
Yeah, sounds real nice sir! I still want still want someone to gift you that 58 Bigsby that says "Larry" on the pickguard that's on the verb right now!
What a beautiful guitar. That's some style, there. I'm not wealthy enough to rock that look, but I wish I was. Too bad for me🤣
Someone's gonna be happy when that package arrives.
Thanks for this Tom ✊🏼
Hey Tom, Killer video as always, did i hear you just say that Great tone is Heavy and Easy to carry??? Good Stuff always always always inspiring.
Wow, you caught me off guard on this, can't believe you like it... thanks for the opinion
Killer jam as always! I don't know if you take requests but I'd love to hear you jam over the Raise My Rent loop. I know you love Sir Gilmour, as do I, and I think that was some of his best work. I know your voice would be amazing on it as well. Big fan. Hope to cross your path someday
That album and song is so sweet.
Beautiful and haunting..
Casino into a JTM20. Now we’re talking. ❤
Sweet Playing dude
Man, I just wanna quickly say how much I appreciate these. And the talks with Gruhn fellas and all that ... Still, I remember how much these were born of the pandemic. I look forward to a time when watching these doesn't make me feel just a little bit anxious, remembering all that shit ... Sorry if that was a crappy thing to say on a perfectly lovely night in 2023, but there you go.
Plato has a great discussion on living in the moment. Very helpful. Hope you move past those days soon.
@@dlmyrs what a lovely thing to say! especially in youtube comments. Thanks, man!
Candidate for your next album, I think so 😁
I want one I will put it on my procrastination list
Hey Tom. Check out the SV20H from Marshall. It’s another amp in the Studio line. It’s a mini Plexi. I have one and it’s killer. Some rag on it for having a PCB but it sounds great… cleans and drive .
Feedback reminds me of Gabor Zsabo. Great tones
Cool gear Buk. Peace
Awesome!!
I've seen that face before. It means I want to play! 🔥
That song/music HAS to go on the next record.
Sounded like a good old amp, dig it. Not made in PRC too, goof to know.
The Al Caiolas were truly unique instruments and were one of the few instruments of that type with a 25.5" scale. I think it changes the voice of the guitar compared to 24.75". I was gonna score an Al Caiola Standard but it slipped through my fingers. Instead, I scored a Epi Johnny A which also has a 25.5 scale. Wish I could afford a Gibson Johnny A. Both the Gibby & the Epi have now been discontinued. 😔
Oh man...the sound you are producing with that Epi is making me miss my 67 ES330. It is at Glasers getting the headstock repaired after a lapse in my judgment.
Sounds great paired with that amp...and your hands!
Epiphone sounds great...
I turned this on...and I was wearing the same t shirt! If I could only play as well...
Yeah Tom
Hey Buko. I think sending you one of the new model Marshall amps is perhaps the best way to get the word out. Who better to show them in action than The Session Man himself?
Oh yeah… got a musical recommendation for ya on the off chance you’re not familiar… are you into Mike Viola? I’m a big fan and have been listening to his new album “Paul McCarthy” as well as some old Candy Butchers and Major Labels material lately and just love his songwriting, singing and sneaky great playing. If you haven’t listened to much of his stuff, do check it out. Methinks you’ll dig it.
Your pal in Boston, Darin
The beginning reminds me of "You Know You Know" by the Mahavishnu Orchestra
Uncle Larry I suffer from guitar paralysis when I try to create something original. Can you hear the melodies and notes in your head and then in real time play it without having to go through the process of visually mapping it first? Does the Matrix exist? Can someone practice being 'one' with the instrument? For example, I have a very simple melody in my head and I think I know the notes but before I get further its like theory overload happens and I look like i've never played a guitar before. Whats the fix? More theory? Learn to play the recorder? Any thoughts are appreciated.
Nice to hear Tom's thoughts on this amp. All the usual suspects on youtube are singing it's praises, but they're mostly sponsored vids and stores. I know our good old Uncle tells the unbiased truth.
Hey Tom, this is unrelated but I’m not sure where else to put this, you’re one of my favorite guitar players and have frequented Homeskoolin since it’s inception. I learned so much from you and am heavily inspired by you. integrated a lot of your style into my own playing. However, these past 1-2 years I haven’t played at all… even not watching nearly as much guitar content as I used to, or tuning into Homeskoolin. This is largely attributed to my 9-5 job. During the day I tell myself I’m goona get home and play and I feel inspired. But then I get home and I feel lazy, uninspired and just downright sluggish. I really regret this as guitar really seemed to give me purpose in my life. I think to myself “how much better would you be right now if you just kept playing” the regret depresses me but this cycle continues. It makes me feel like maybe I just don’t have it in me? I was wondering, has anyone felt like this before? I’m 27 and life has been going by faster than ever. I want to play guitar again, my first ever love. It’s just so hard with ‘life’ going on. Thanks again uncle buk.
Play just 15 min every day and you’ll be fine dude
Life can be a slog sometimes, guitar will always be there for you. It might not pay the bills, but that’s ok. You can pay the bills, and your job will change. Your boss will die or your cousin will come to you with some sort of crazy opportunity. And then somewhere down the road you’ll have time to play again. And you’ll have even more to say with your music. From about 15-25 all I wanted to do was play music. It didn’t work out as a career for me then. It was depressing and I felt like a failure at the time, but that’s ok. There have been times where I barely picked up a guitar for years. But it never goes away. Eventually after many jobs/careers and a handful of kids I have found the time and passion for music again. Big thanks to Uncle Larry for helping to stoke the flames and challenge me. Play for yourself and remember that if you have a guitar, and can play it, you are probably doing better than most! Good luck! Hope this helps. I’m not the most eloquent, but I feel you man. ❤
Hang in there bro you're still young I went through a phase in my mid-to-late twenties where I couldn't be bothered to play even though I started when I was 10 and by the time I was your age I played hundreds of gigs and had some road work under my belt... I got fired from a few bands cuz I was more comfortable watching them from the bar then being on this stage it was just a phase man now all these years later I got two kids and a full-time job I can't stand I have so much cool gear my garage but everyday I come home and just chill the fuck out to get my head straight but I never stopped thinking of myself as a guitar player and I always feed my head music and of course homeschooling with Uncle Larry... you need to go out and see somebody play and really inspire you that's what it's going to take
Find a band to join or form your own band. And start playing gigs!
Then, if you are like most of us and take a lot of pride in your playing, you WILL start practicing. I find fear of on stage embarrassment a GREAT motivator (PRACTICE HARD SO YOU DON’T FREAKIN SUCK IN FRONT OF PEOPLE!).
Also, you will have the obligation to your band mates to come prepared (you know the songs and can play your parts). That will give you another reason to work on your craft.
All this stuff will give you the energy to get off your ass and work on what you love to do. And the better you sound the more fun it will be.
Tho the life of a musician isn’t always fun (46 year pro here), but gigs will give you something to look forward to.
You might be surprised how much energy you have for a gig, even after a long day at work. Especially once the song starts!
Some wise words above and I'll say much the same. I had periods in my 20's and 30's where I hardly played but it was always there and came back to me in my 40's. Now I'm 50 and guitar is central to my life. Would you have any opportunity to play with others? I now play in an informal band of friends where we meet once a week and just learn and play covers which has given me loads of purpose and direction. Having some homework to do and learn songs and parts I wouldn't have otherwise thought of. Stick with it, as others have said it will always be there for you
Wish they made casinos with that finish and binding
I really wanna see inside one of these amps... Man I hope they're built better than the Origin and SV20 stuff
The Epi!!
Uh oh these amps are bout to be selling like hot cakes. Lol they do sound REALLY good
What is a good A frame stand for a telecaster? Thanks ¡!
I just don’t get compression pedals, I used one once at the front of my chain & the results were horrible.. what’s the deal with them?
Hey Tom,
I’m a Nashville guy too and I’m in Cleveland helping some friends out. Where are the good spots to go guitar shopping. I’ve stumbled into a couple of places but nothing great. Thought you might have suggestions. Huge fan. Great vid as always.
Guitar Riot is one of the best ones
Tom have you ever owned a Dumble or played one, and if have is worth the money or is just for the guys that have all the money, thanks
