    Here he is...

    one is an instrumental solo record called "Plexi Soul" that is available here:

    another is an instrumental collaboration with his dear friend Dean Deleo (originally from the Stone Temple Pilots organization) that is available here:

    What about the I’m gonna buy a cool custom guitar from an unknown builder and find out you can’t get a music store owner to offer you 1 dollar for it in trade phase?

    • @501chorusecho
      @501chorusecho  Год назад +31

      hahaaaa.....oh dude....i know ALL about that one.
      when i had my music store (roughly 2014-2017) i quickly realized that NOBODY wants to buy used boutique amps....and i mean NOBODY.
      we couldn't GIVE away amps that people had paid 5-6 grand to have built. We had a whole wall of used Dr. Z's that were harder to sell than used mattresses.
      that's when i finally figured out the real meaning of the classic old vintage guitar culture term " last one holding it".
      The real truth, when it comes to amps, is that if it doesn't say Fender, Marshall or Vox somewhere on it, NOBODY wants it.
      Also, i never realized until i had that store how incredibly hard it is to sell any amp that is big, loud and heavy, no matter how "cool" or rare it is.
      We could have sold an unlimited amount of old Princeton and Deluxe Reverbs, old Gibson acoustics, old Fender basses, old Strats, Teles and Les Pauls...but everything else would sit forever. I suppose that's why the items on that list I just mentioned will always be the definition of "blue chip" investments.

      I totally agree. So I figured out the open tuning he's using for this........low to high: D, A, D, F#, A, D. I'm also playing it too. Playing it isn't that hard, once ya have the open tuning figured out. I've always loved playing/performing with open alternate tunings. You can get such powerful, Spiritually moving sounds out of an acoustic guitar, that simply cannot be duplicated in standard tuning ( which is why I've always kept 3 or 4 acoustic guitars to perform for audiences, all tuned differently ). Try it. Enjoy...........but don't thank me.......thank Uncle Larry. I simply copied it.

      Yep........that's definitely it. I've been playing guitar ( and singing, plus blues harp ) since 1974.........and it took me YEARS to finally find out about open/alternate tunings, LOL. This was back in the late 80's ( I was playing electric and acoustic, founding & co-founding bands, etc ).....and as advanced as I THOUGHT my playing had come, the discovery of open/alternate tunings was like discovering a whole new universe in guitar playing/performing. The only downside to it, is ya realize ya need multiple guitars......to keep from re-tuning in front of your audiences...........cuts down on breaking a shit load of strings too, on a single guitar, lol. @@ruanddu

    Your list of a guitar players life is so good. It’s spot on, and I find myself looking for a bass lately. I’ve not pulled the trigger yet but it most likely will happen soon. 😅 Northeast Ohio rules.

    Very good insight on those phases. One can also be in two phases at one time. For example, I am in the F@!k Pedals and Only Play Princetons phase. Those go well together.

    The clarity of every harmonic in every note of that guitar is breathtaking! In places, it almost sounds like a twelve.

    I laughed when you mentioned the bit about the flint. I actually hated it myself, until I found the “magic” setting! 😂 I used it at a gig a couple years ago and everyone was like was like, “that song slapped harder than usual!” 😂😂😂

    My kiddo, played his fifth grade talent show 06, busted out times like these, and then Sumer time blues on his sg and vox, got a standing ovation and they carried him off on their shoulders, pretty fun night,
