Nice video as always man 🥰 There‘s one thing I would like to add that saved me a lot of time: Set a specified amount of revisions before starting a project. I always go with two revisions before the rendering process, showing the clients a lowres preview in eevee. And if the client wants some more revisions afterwards, he gotta pay extra
This is huge, I totally forgot to mention this. Revisions can be insanely painful and tedious. I offer 3 revisions (each revision can be referring to multiple things, for example: "change the texture and make the animation a little smoother here" would count as 1 to me) and all revisions after those 3 can happen at a rate of $250/hr. This encourages clients to really rack their brains to come up with improvements so you're not making one tiny adjustment only for them to bring up something else they could have mentioned earlier... I always put this part in the fine print on the contract though. This isn't a great thing to bring up right away because it kind of sounds intimidating. Just make sure to slip it into the contract so they can see it after they're already basically sold
I'm your latest subscriber. This kind of very practical and hands-on information is very valuable. As you can tell from my photo, I'm no spring chicken in this world (and I've run my own consulting company in the past) but concerns specific to 3D art and advertising are still new to me. To have you delineate the concensn and factors around job cost estimation, both for the client and myself its hugely helpfull! Keep up the great work!
thanks man, what a gem of a channel. thanks for sharing the info with everyone so ppl can get paid too. not only kind but also making money doing so. appreciate the grind, man!
I'm really excited to see more videos you make because this is super helpful and to the point!!! I just started blender and I'm saving this video to rewatch after I've improved my my skills a little bit and can work faster in blender! Also I live under where all the planes line up for an semi major airport so I do the same thing with flightradar whenever I see an interesting plane haha
Yeah definitely keep going! I don't think companies have fully realized the potential of 3D renders. The demand for this type of work will only increase. And yes, I love watching the planes go by. All the planes fly over my house to land at the airport, and I live near an old military base haha
Awesome tips for beginners. Quick question; Are you able to take on several clients at the same time (if yes, how many do you personally find manageable?), or do you usually take one client at a time?
I personally take on as many at a time as I can, although if a client makes it clear that they are in a rush or need the work done quickly, I'm still sure to give them an honest timeframe.
To add to that, try to get familiar with the keys to shortcuts. They are wildly important, and makes even simple tasks quicker. I believe Blender guru, the creator of the tutorial recommended, has a pdf for people to download.
Hi, Do you charge differently for rendering a heavy scene say with volumetric stuff? Or is that the part of hourly charge? basically, what if you make a video in 5 hrs and it takes 12 hrs to render. do you charge for work hour only or rendering too?
Yeah definitely I consider how long it'll take to render. I adjust my price by a reasonable amount to accommodate. If they're interested in getting it done really quickly, they can pay you to use a cloud renderer like conciergerender
what if I do this when they ask the price I tell them that to give you the accurate price we can hop on a call for like 10 minutes and I will ask you some questions to determine the price
Nice video as always man 🥰

"People that are older, in their 30's.." I resent that remark. Nice video though 👌
lol maybe 30s is too young to say that, my bad haha
Nah 30s is old
It's a problem of inexperience and of being fluffed by those who have an agenda.

Conseierge Render can render projects that used blender addons?

man you gonna be a fire in the future. Can you tell me what is the best way to learn blender?
Thank you so much! Without a doubt, start with Blender Guru's donut tutorial series. Make sure to do the one for Blender 3.0.

@@renderer makes sense, thanks.
