Thanks for any help 💗🚘🚘🚘

    • @ConquerDriving
      @ConquerDriving  5 лет назад +5

      They will normally tell you a specific place to stop like near the lamp post etc but sometimes they just ask you to pull up in a safe place on the right. They only ask this when they can see there are safe places. If there are no safe places and you don't stop you will not fail.

  • @doctormoobbc
    @doctormoobbc 2 года назад +2

    When you pull up on the right (in an automatic car) do you pull the handbrake and park and then when told to reverse lift the handbrake and go into R? Lots of sites say you need to "park" first before doing the reversing section of the maneuver. What does park mean? Simply get into position, or go into P gear and pull the handbrake?

    • @ConquerDriving
      @ConquerDriving  2 года назад +1

      You can put it into park and pull the handbrake up after stopping. But if the examiner asks you to reverse before you've had a chance to put it in park, you can go straight to reverse. Park and parking brake (handbrake) is for parking.

  • @rorywilliams4470
    @rorywilliams4470 2 года назад +1

    If already straight can you just reverse without the steering movements?

    • @ConquerDriving
      @ConquerDriving  2 года назад

      Yes, but you usually need some steering input as the road moves a bit and you're rarely exactly straight.

    failed today on this maneuver
    After i reversed i put it in gear, did my checks, put the signal on and a fiesta came in front of me round the bend
    He stopped in front of me at about 10 meters, to let me go...i waited about 5 sec just to make sure he s not moving...and i drove off
    Examiner told me i failed because even though he stopped to give me way to go back into my lane, i should have cancelled the signal.. let him go on the other side of the road and pass me.. and then i should have moved off...what happened if he just waited there for 20 mins ?
    ..i m gutted...other than that i had 2 minors..

    Hi Richard, when reversing two car lengths, where shall I look? My instructor taught me looking out the rear window most of the time, and in between make a quick glance at the camera screen (instead of the side mirror) only to check I'm keeping a proper space with the curb. I did that in my test, made 3 quick glances of the camera screen but got a driving fault with comment that "I glanced too much on the camera while I shall mainly focus on the rear window"! I google about it, checked the DVSA website etc and there're different sayings about this. I'm lost about what to do in my next test...... Thanks a lot for your advice!

    • @ConquerDriving
      @ConquerDriving  2 года назад +2

      You can look where you want as long as you look around enough to notice anyone approaching you before they get to you. I get my pupils to mainly focus on the mirrors for accuracy with quick regular 360-degree checks around for approaching hazards.

      You should signal if you think it's helping someone but no signal is better than a misleading signal. You have to judge it for the individual situation. But I would only usually signal before I cross to the right side of the road and not as I'm reversing unless I think it may help someone who is not sure of what I'm doing.

      I'm sorry to hear that, it's important not to roll too far once you have crossed over to the other side of the road. You have to practise the timing of when to cross over in relation to where you plan to stop. Definitely don't cross over until you know where you are stopping. I may do such a video in the future.

      @@ConquerDriving yeah I've rolled too far then crossed over the other side of the road but I didn't cause any danger, there wasn't any incoming cars or anything but then there was nowhere to park anyways so the examiner told me to turn right and carried on with the parallel parking which I did fine... that's all I've failed for, it's was exhausting as I had 2hrs lesson before the test... your advice to me next time is that come to a stop even though there are cars behind me and wait until its safe to cross on the other side of the road to pull up on the right?
