Thanks a lot everyone...I was forced to take a long break from playing because of a finger injury...but i'm happy to say that my finger has finally healed. :)
I am glad to here you are ok. I had my left elbow crushing in an accident in 2008 and could not feel my left hand. They did a complete elbow replacement with titanium, a year in therapy and I am now playing and teaching. At age 65 I am fortunate I have been playing since age 14 and the Guitar is my passion. Don't EVER STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
kakashi hatake The joke didn’t completely go over my head...I thought he seriously was calling vibrato “whammy.” I got the Guitar Hero reference. But now that I read it again, I see the whole comment was a joke 🤣
Very nice. And on a Squier! That makes it that much cooler. You deserve a nicer guitar with that skill. Not that there’s anything wrong with the Squier. On the contrary, it just shows what you can do with any guitar if you just practice. Very well done. Bravo 👏🏻
I have never liked any guitar I have owned that cost more than $500. My favorite guitar I ever had was a Godin SD that was stolen from me that I bought for $200. I have a $2,500 HSS Custom Shop Fender that I could not give a lick about.
It appears to be a $200 squier affinity, but it looks like she changed the pickguard, and judging from how good it sounds, I'm assuming she also changed the pickups. Squiers are actually very good bases for mods, and with some tweaking and customization, they can be even better than a Fender
@@Sticknub I actually bought a Squier. It was a Squier Contemporary with actives. I’m a Les Paul guy, and have some really nice custom shop Gibson Les Pauls and some killer ESP Eclipse guitars. But I bought the contemporary Squier brand new for under 200$ just to have a strat style guitar laying around. I’ve actually upgraded the Floyd Rose to a real Floyd rose and replaced the pickups with EMGs. It’s a killer guitar for the money. I still prefer my single cut guitars. But that Squier plays pretty damn good for 1/20th the price of some of my guitars. Perfectly good guitar for all skill levels. Amazing at that price. The Squier sits proudly next to my Gibson’s and ESP’s.
Observation. You're not trying to play the guitar... you're letting the music come out through your fingers. There is a big difference to me. Love the music.
i love it so great, i love smashing i love this tune (but i m not play the solo) it s a pleasure to listen a very good cover like ......this ............rocK rocK cherub rock thanks
That slight little bend on the 11/13 octave and vibrato on 9/11 octave...I see what you did there. Never occurred to me to throw those in there until just now....amazing how something so subtle can make it sound so much better. well done! !
Loved the cover! I'm hoping to get my first electric guitar in the next couple weeks and seeing other people asides from the actual band playing my favorite songs is very inspiring!
Dont know if youve done this, i would recommend finding a copy of the official tab book and seeing the real interestin chords Billy uses for the chorus and bridge. Its not just straight barre chords/5s. Gives it a real interesting flavour! for chorus its essentially a single octave+rootnote triad single shape that he slides to the different E string positions, and then the bridge has some real funky changes between octaves, 10th fret A string Gs etc. Take a look! The solo looks real spot on. The main problem is playing it over the top of the original track so its hard to know which effects (feedback, harmonics etc) are coming from the immaculately fingered positioning, that blurs the line between miming cover. Looking at your other vids tho im pretty confident youre just nailing it anyway :)
Sima you Armageddon beast that you are !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That cover was a bullet to my brain .. I think this and also Soma cover you played before of the pumpkins, are such a good examples of guitar music that's not all about speed and accuracy, but also about vibe \ groove \ feeling, you name it. If I may suggest, you can cover "Here is no why" of the smashing pumpkins, also has a great solo. In fact, the solo is made up of 2 guitars playing together, so you can do both and split the video !! This we'll be something worth watching !!!
THE song of my youth, and you totally nailed it. This was the first thing I ever learned to play (badly), pretty good at it now but still only give an approximation of the solo...you rocked that shit.
Well the equipment that Billy used to record it was a hardtail strat, swapped the pickups out for a lace sensor blue silver and red set, Marshall jcm800, removed the el34s tubes and converted it to kt66s, and finally just a EH Big Muff.
Thanks a lot everyone...I was forced to take a long break from playing because of a finger injury...but i'm happy to say that my finger has finally healed. :)
with the way you play, no wonder your fingers hurt. i can feel the pain just from watching you play

Sima B what happened? How long of a break?
Please show us your EYES ! We want to see !
@@tru816indo probably playing the Soma solo? This one already gives me blisters. The soma one makes my fingers bleed 😂
Admit it, that’s really James Iha hiding behind all that hair 😜
Neither corgan nor iha can play that well live....
@@sh856531 lol you have no idea what you're talking about.
I think James would have enough money to not have to buy a Squier
@@sh856531 have you seen billy solo
James iha with breasts
On a real note.. I’ve been playing guitar for 23 years and I can promise you my friend.. you’re flawless
That’s true. That cover is damn accurate but the song isn’t that hard. The solo is nothing compared to the guitar solo in smoke on the water
Easily the best cover of this song on here, nailed the solo!
Totally agree. Best cover of it on youtube
what about the Nomakills one ?
Nomakills doesn't do the solo correctly, but its correct in this cover.
Ok. He found it by ear I assume. I follow him since years and when he doesn't read sheets while he plays it's because he found notes by ear xD
By a million miles
Love the "billy slides" during the solo. It's one of my favourite features of his playing.
I have so much trouble replicating those. I have no clue on how its being done.
To make them you just basically slide all the way down the low e string really fast and maybe go back up
The 35 people who gave this thumbs down are straight haters. She crushed that solo
35 people are TURDS.
This is such a sick riff, just so so sick and so original.
Shame I can't give this another like. Superb cover. Probably the best I've seen on RUclips.
2024 baby and I’m still here 🤘🏽 rock on!
Awesomely brilliant. You've captured the sensuality in the bends and distortion, your playing is very relaxed and natural.
You are one of the few that actually pull the solo off! kudos for that
My god! This is literally the best cover of this song EVER!! so good! Amazing job!!
I like how you whammied alot during the solo, for that extra star power
Cvo777 Whammied? I saw a lot of vibrato...and zero use of the whammy.
Cvo777 there’s no whammy during the solo. That’s called vibrato

I come back to this cover at least a couple times every year and every time I shed a tear of joy
This is the best Cherub Rock cover I have ever seen on youtube! You're so great!
Have watched this so many times.. never gets tired. Just "Rockin"..
Absolutely perfect! The solo was amazing, and the SUSTAIN!!!!!
Glad the algorithm led me here; the guy below is right: crushed that solo (and Billy's can still be heard in the background) \000/
Excellent technique and killer vibrato of one of my pumpkin favorites. Thanks Sima.
Unbelievable work on the solo. I'm so blown away! First time I've seen someone get it so close. Wonderful
Incredible especially the solo. It sounds just like the recording. I have been trying too and its very hard to replicate
Utterly blown away. Where has this cover been all my life
