I understand; since I made this video Elizabeth, Addi stopped including those items with the machine, and instead sell them separately. But you know what, there are so many excellent and more recent video tutorials on RUclips and there are a number of Facebook groups with over 10,000 members globally showcasing their work and sharing with the rest of us what they are doing that you might enjoy. My favorite is Addi King Loomers & Knits on Facebook. They have a tremendous library. Hoping you become an "Addi"ct like me!
In love with your videos -- just got my Addi last week and have made several hats, ear warmers and a scarf! Have left my weaving loom to sit for awhile! Love your videos. Do you sell spools of yarns? Thank you!
Thank you for your kind feedback Virginia! Congratulations and have fun with your Addi adventure! I bet you become an "addi"ct like me! Unfortunately, we do not have spools in stock for retail, our alpaca wool production is limited to our own alpacas and we use it all for our own hats, but it can be purchased directly from a mill on cones! There are lots of variety of yarns available, but the Addi really loves alpaca!
@@nikkigriffith9703 Thanks a million, Nikki. I'm weaving with Alpaca right now and have spools running through the Addi. You're right, the Addi loves it! Thanks again for the great instructional videos.
We raise suri alpacas and I use suri alpaca, if I am using a fingerling or lighter weight yarn, I will often use two or three strands at the same time going through the machine. I have used huacaya in a dk weight and it worked beautifully as well!
@@mar8014 Yes, both suri and huacaya are types of alpaca, very different natural fibers, huacaya has much loft while suri is known for its luster and drape.
Very good video, well made.
I bought mine here in the uk I didn’t get any books with my addi except the instructions.

Hi may I ask what type of Alpaca yarn you use to make the hats on the Addi Machine? Like is it worsted weight? Dk weight? Fingering weight?
Thanks!

Is Huacaya a type of Alpaca ??

@@nikkigriffith9703 I am going to research lighter weight yarn types, and try using 100 percent alpaca yarn.
@@nikkigriffith9703 did you mean to say "Fingering "? You use Fingering weight 100% Alpaca yarn on the Addi machine?
