Great video! I have hand knitted for decades. But I feared I would have to give up my favorite hobby due to my severe arthritis. But the Addi has allowed me to continue my hobby without the pain. Thank goodness for these machines!
Great Video... I am not a knitter; but have opportunity to buy one of these at half price and you answered questions I wouldn't even have known to ask. Great! Appreciate your skill and knowledge.
Fabulous! Thank you for making such a great video showing how to use the Addi knitting machine! I will buy one definitely! Please show us more patterns how to use the machine to knit various items.
I am so happy to see this video and look forward to more from you in the future. When I bought my Addi Express King Knitting Machine there were very few videos about it. I am a visual learner so the books that came with my Addi were not very much help. I have learned more from you just watching this one video of yours today, that is why I would like to see more from you. I have used kinitting needles to make ribbing for hats before I put them on the machine, I usually bind it off the needles before I put it on the the machine, it makes it easier to start that way.
Awe I love that about your daughter I know you were feeling such pride and happiness watching her enjoy that! Tell her, her cowl is adorable! Good job! And I always say feelvision on my fb! Love it!
This was very informative! Thank you and now you can add an electric adapter to this found on Amazon which makes it go so much faster, plus tension forks.
Fascinating, and I am hooked! I like to do a lot of charity knitting (hats, mostly, but some other things). I'm not a fast knitter, though, and am always wishing I could complete more. This would certainly enable me your do so.
I have recently bought and addi and pleased i have found your you tube channel . Thank you for your tutorials , how lucky you get free yarn with yours , i have been getting out different weight yarn to see what look best .i thought i had the big machine but i got it wrong , so i am thinking of investing in the larger one if i get on ok with this one . Your daughters little cowl is cute .
Hello Vickie, I have really enjoyed watching your broadcast. I have ordered an Addie Extra large today with the wish to knit jumpers for rescue dogs and rescue hens. This I imagine will need the "flat" knitting mode. Also I dont use animal products so what would be the best quality wool option to choose? I live in the UK . Thank you for any advice.
Wow! Yarn for free!, I didn't get any yarn with mine, bummer! It would be good to see more different things other than beanies and cowls or scarves. Cheers!
Hello, thanks so much for making a video. I have a question, what weight yarn and type of yarn blend that has at least 10% wool could I use? I heard worsted weight 10% to 25% wool yarn (the rest of the percent of the yarn is acrylic) works well with the Addi machine. Is that right?
Yes please did you ever show how to do a flat panel. I just got a 22 needle and would love to know more things to do and make. Thanks know this is very late.
I'm seeing my nephew tomorrow who has been walking to the city bus in a windchill of -30°. He has no scarf and I have no time. This is why I definitely don't feel like this is cheating. He'll have his scarf before he works tomorrow. Thanks for the instructions!
I think that looks amazing for doing quick knit projects. Could you use a circular needle to slip the stitches from the machine instead of a threading the needle through? Then you would be able to just bind off or decrease as needed from the circular. I may have to get one to make scarves with. I start out with good intentions and end up making a cowl.
Do you have a video on how to use the Hikoo Simpli Cria in an Addi Express? Also I just got my machine and I am so so so frustrated that it keeps skipping or dropping stitches. It is NOT at the same needle, and it does it if I am going slow or faster! Frustrating! Is my machine faulty?
Hey! Just found this video on my investigation of knitting machines. Will you host a video for how to knit flat panels using the machine? I tried looking at older videos but didn't see if you'd already made one? So glad I found this channel!
Love this machine could you please show to knit flat pieces and Chang colour please. Also can I use any thickness yarn. If you have time a video of a knitted hat on this would be great. Thank you
I started crocheting years ago and I love it! I prefer knit wearable items, though. I can't knit so I started loom knitting. The time consumption is agony! I can crochet an adult beanie in about 2 hours. I've been working on this loom knit beanie for a few weeks now and if I hadn't promised it to someone, I would have long since given up. I'm shopping for a knit machine so when people look to me for a hand-knit product, I'm not ready to jump off a bridge by the time I give it to them. ^_^ It's also murder to people's hands. Women who have RA, I bet a knit machine is life saving. People who gate-keep knitting are monsters. lol
I know this is an old post, but, you might want to check out Continental knitting. I learned to crochet first and could never figure out knitting. My friend, who learned in Germany, taught me Continental. Knitting was a piece of cake doing Continental!
Have you tried finishing with a ribbing? I'm thinking you can remove the stitches onto a circular needle, then knit a few inches of ribbing. No idea what needle size, though.
Question can I make a blanket on this machine? Can you still use all of the knitting techniques and crocheting techniques too ? If I order the instructions book how do I know that it will be in English?
Betty Capps. Sometimes this happened to me when using polyester yarns because of static electricity. To prevent, I wrap a dryer sheet around the yarn where I hold it next to yarn holder or counter. Hope it helps.
I bought this machine in the uk, nothing for free ,no books, which I saw on a you tube video in US, free yarn again in US . But here in UK you get machine and nothing else.
Say..for example... I'm knitting a PANEL on the King-Size Abbi. A few rows require 45 needles, and other rows require only 40 needles. Am I at risk of breaking the machine if I try to knit only 40 needles, when the machine is set-up to finish a row at 45 needles? (I hope no one thinks it's a dumb question. It's my first time using a knitting machine. And I don't want to break it.)
Ok, had to reach out to Skacel for an answer to this one. Here's what came back: "When knitting panels, you can knit anywhere from 3 sts to 43 sts. There will always be 3sts that do not knit. There are row stoppers that come with the American units in general. The European ones do not come with them, but they can be purchased. These are small red clips that you pop over the needle dividers, and stop the machine in the appropriate place. You can also do this without stoppers. It would take far too long to describe the whole process in an email. Best way to check it out is in a video. I find this one very good and refer people to it frequently. ruclips.net/video/m-kKv2x_aCA/видео.html " HTH!
It's based on length of your work. I see there's been no reply from the video poster, so go to this youtuber for info - ruclips.net/video/MNF42R2olmw/видео.html
I'm not sure what effect you're using on your camera but it's kind of making me sea sick. Can somebody respond to this comment and let me know if her newer videos have this same weird zoom wobble effect? I like her and the content but I'm going to get sick.
Great video! I have hand knitted for decades. But I feared I would have to give up my favorite hobby due to my severe arthritis. But the Addi has allowed me to continue my hobby without the pain. Thank goodness for these machines!
I had to give up knitting last fall/winter when I came down with Rheumatoid arthritis.
This gives me hope back.
Thank you for this 💗

We love you, Vickie! Thanks for another great video.
I agree with you about different methods of working with yarn. It keeps things fresh and fun. Thank you for this video.
This was very informative! Thank you and now you can add an electric adapter to this found on Amazon which makes it go so much faster, plus tension forks.

I sure miss your knitty gritty show l Loved it but it is sure good to see this 😁

I love knitting but can no longer knit by hand. This machine might just be the answer!
Just ordered one and spotted this video...can’t wait till I receive it...great to see a few things to keep me going!
I would love this machine for all my knitting. I can no longer knit or crochet for long stretches due to carpal tunnel syndrome. This would be great!
I think that item gathered at both ends is a double beanie! It's great. You tack the gathered ends together....
Just wondering how you would measure and calculate the necessary lengths and widths for a sweater?
I'm saving up for an Addi King. My stash will never be the same.

Would you please address the waste yarn of this knitting machine. I only crochet, but I’ve been trying to learn how to use this machine.
Is this for a beginner knitter? I know how to crochet but never knitted. Also can u make a cardigan with this?
I started crocheting years ago and I love it! I prefer knit wearable items, though. I can't knit so I started loom knitting. The time consumption is agony! Have you tried finishing with a ribbing? I'm thinking you can remove the stitches onto a circular needle, then knit a few inches of ribbing. No idea what needle size, though.
Can you attach weights to the middle? I've seen it done on other videos.
Please teach us how to do an entire beanie hat.
I was just wondering. Can checkerboard/stripped/phentex slippers be made with this machine?
Oh man, I'm not sure. I'd reach out directly to Skacel Knitting to ask that. You can DM them on Instagram @skacelknitting. HTH!
Will this work for making sock blanks?
Question can I make a blanket on this machine? Can you still use all of the knitting techniques and crocheting techniques too ? If I order the instructions book how do I know that it will be in English?
I personally use the Addi. You can make blankets, clothes, hats & scarfs. I have tons of Addi express patterns on my youtube page. stop by😘
@@LittlejohnsYarn thank u
The book should have English and German for sure. I think possibly French as well. I will get one this spring 2022.
I need to ask. I've just bought one addi express king-size. What type of patterns can I make or is it just ribbing???
Where do you buy this machine?
Would that work for a hand amputee
Can you please show me how do leg warmers
super helpful.
Why is it that using the 3 black needles, it makes the counter jump a number; example, from 18 to 20?
Betty Capps. Sometimes this happened to me when using polyester yarns because of static electricity. To prevent, I wrap a dryer sheet around the yarn where I hold it next to yarn holder or counter. Hope it helps.
wow they use to give you yarn,, not anymore , i wish they gave you a pattern book though , but love my addi
Je reste à st Jean sur richelieu près de mtl et je recherche addi king avec un peu de rabais
CAN IT TAKE DIFFERENT TYPE OF YARN DK TO CHUNKY
How do yo knit a blanket on this machine?
How much are the machine
My addi knitting machine is stuck on number 24 I just received it and it's stuck
I bought this machine in the uk, nothing for free
,no books, which I saw on a you tube video in US, free yarn again in US .
But here in UK you get machine and nothing else.
Using an entire commercial skein of yarn in the round makes a really nice scarf. Just use fringe to seal both ends.
I am a beginner so all tutorials a good for me
Doesn't it have a tensioner?
Some other brand knitting machines have one, the addi doesn’t.
I haven’t had any luck making flat panels. It drops whole sections!
There's definitely a learning curve. Just keep practicing, though -- you'll get it!
I figured it out! I made a flat panel with no dropped stitches. I used wool and I am going to felt it!
Excellent!
Why is it called “king”?
It's bigger than the small one.
Problem with this machine is how do you knit sweaters ?
Interesting
I also have another knitting wheel but I found that it is not that great it is the whit and black one from things and it is not that great
I have anAddi machine
I love this video with the exception of the number of times you say “Um”.

💫😎🇦🇺👍
beginning is good; then you go off on a tangent. wish you would stick to the finishing and share tips and tricks on how to complete the stitching.
I'm not sure what effect you're using on your camera but it's kind of making me sea sick. Can somebody respond to this comment and let me know if her newer videos have this same weird zoom wobble effect? I like her and the content but I'm going to get sick.
So, you don't even OWN this machine, eh? Complete TD!!!!
