For anyone wondering why it’s so complicated, they actually based the flower crossing genetics on ACTUAL real life plant genetics. Seriously, you can make huge punnet squares and get the same result.

For those who want the written version HOW TO GET BLUE ROSES Seed Red + Seed Red = Black (25%) Seed White + Seed White = Purple (25%) Purple + Seed Yellow = White (100%) Step #2 Purple + Step #3 White = Purple (50%) (50% of these purple will be useless) Cross that purple with a seeded yellow and block off yellow spawning spots = yellow (50%) This is just a test to ensure it is a good purple #4 Purple + #4 Purple = Perfect White (25%) Perfect White + Black = Hybrid 1 Red (100%) Hybrid1 Red + Perfect White = Orange Hybrid (12.5%) Hybrid Orange + Perfect White = Hybrid 2 Red = (25%) Hybrid 2 Rose + Hybrid 2 Rose = Blue Rose (25%)
I honestly don’t know how the flowers work. I water them, and think they might breed a new color. If it doesn’t, I wait until the next and repeat until it pops up. I watched videos about blue roses being hard to get and didn’t understand because the way they explained how hard it is was too hard for me to remember. I often don’t pay attention and can be quite forgetful. Reading a comment though, you can read it again. I didn’t even know you had to do certain types as seed and even the steps of the flowers. I was just going to breed red with red.
I went from thinking "wow cross breeding flowers in ac is so much more simpler than real life" to "oh god nintendo you've made it just as excruciating" I don't time travel so I'll have fun waiting and seeing if I can get blue roses one day :D
@@KyroTVAC this can be a good option for people, but for me I want to get all the flower hybrids myself. I've actually almost got them all. Working on getting my last 2 hybrids; purple wildflowers and green mums as well as getting the "hybrid 2 red rose" to have the higher chance for producing blue, but this will also depend how my blue rose that I finally got today produces new blue roses. Lol I've been having a blast at crossbreeding. 😁
Animal crossing being a life sim game means there’s appreciation to be had for the attention to detail and accuracy. Me being a student, it’s infinitely more fun to work on genetics in ACNH than the lab ever could be. Although, the study of polygenic trait inheritance of 3 or more genes really only starts after 2nd year in uni labs so I’m kinda surprised how much of a hunt they’ve made this part of an ‘E for everyone’ title. But glad they chose not to dumb it down and made it an actual challenge
pengueenie the genetics are based on ACTUAL plant genetics. That’s why it’s so hard. You can set up actual pungent squares and figure all this out as well
@@Chemdawg0360 unfortunately, they did dumb down breeding. Not the complexity, but the ability to get rare hybrids. If you didn't know, the first 5 additional people that water your flowers increase the chances of spawning a new flower by 15% each. Imagine a 75% increased chance for flowers to breed every day! Frankly, I think it is far too powerful and I will not use it except the one time I tested it.
Just yesterday, I was given the recipe for a blue rose crown, and I said "Are you SERIOUS?" because I know how bleeping difficult blue roses are to get. Hopefully, this guide will help me.

Oh my, thank goodness FINALLY! A real live and time tested 100% full proof w/evidence of how to breed the infamous blue rose. I've been trying for almost a week now, time traveling for probably 4 months now and with a bunch of orange, purple, and hybrid red roses. Nothing was working. Most videos I've seen and articles I've read are all talk, but no show. THIS is what a real evidence is, not just wild guessing. Thank you man, I'll be doing this right now. I appreciate it tons.
I was trying to understand why the internet was suggesting at least 3 different color combo methods and this clears a lot up. I want this to be the first time I grow all my own hybrids so here I go!

My tester step has resulted in white 8 times. The 9th purple I'm checking hasn't spawned anything in 7 or so days. Have I definitively screwed up somewhere? Any chance I can blame it on the update? Have also lost so much sleep at this point...

@@briannahanover9299 -- you can only visit mystery islands that either have your native flower, or sometimes your alternative native flower. Same with fruits. For example my native is Mums and Peach, and my alternative native are Windflowers and Apples. I haven't had an island spawn anything but those for me.
I'm a visual learner so thanks so much for the visual. The longest process for me was checking to see the 2 good purples to breed for perfect white rose. Now I finally have my blue rose and currently cloning it

@Senorbang No, there are no hybrid seeds from either nooklings or leif, There are only 3 color variants for flower seeds for all flowers, being white red and yellow. The only exception is windflowers which are orange red and white. All other colors (blue, purple, orange except windflowers, black, etc.) must be obtained through breeding.
btw the trick of using the fence works for the hybrids that look the same as seeded flowers, you just have to fence the seded flower so it can't clone and if the same color as the seded. one breeds it is a special one. example: red seded pansie + blue fence the red off and this will stop a clone from coming out, and if the blue breeds a red ypu can use those reds to make purple pansie's

I took rose starters and planted them all in a pile with no spacing (but shifting the colors around) and ended up with a blue rose- my friend just sent me this guide to show me how friggin lucky I am. Bad news for me tho is I already moved all those roses elsewhere and didn't keep track of the ones that created the blue RIP ME
Using this guide, and everything seems to be going good, but the checking step is a rough bottle neck, takes forever to check them because they dont breed everyday. But great guide thanks for your help

MGPZZZ there’s other ways that are simpler, but it’s luck based as stated before. This is the method that guarantees you get the correct genes to breed blue ^_^
I got my fist blue rose today from some random special reds I got from just breading normally. I had seen this information before and had just set up my crossbreeding garden to breed this way the previous day. So was funny that I got the blue rose today. Lol Great video btw. Great way to break it down. I had to read the information several times before I completely understood all aspects of it. So this video explains it very well with great visuals. 😁👍🤗

Finally giving in and using this guide 😭 I think what pushes me as the fact I got Francine yesterday (I had Chrissy on my island already) and I want to decorate the lil spaces outside of their houses with pink and blue roses respectively ;;
This guide is good for getting multiple blues. This is because you have a 25% chance (during offspring) to get blue roses, so it's just like getting black roses technically (after hybrid 2 red roses).
And there me who needs rose seeds. Also it doesn't seem that hard when you break it down. I only starting in my science journey so anything more then 4*4 punnet square (idk if you can really do a punnet square in this case 😂) is alot. thank you. Just need to get some bloody roses. Hopefully leaf will have some and I just going to go nuts 😂😂.

About the hybrid roses 🌹 in the beginning of the video, it’s not a 50% chance for them to even spawn it’s actually a 12.5% chance so the method you’re using is better in the long run and I with many other people are thankful that you clarified deeply about this topic Stay safe!

Genetics for lillies are as follows Seed red = RR-yy-Ss Seed yellow = rr-YY-ss Seed white = rr-yy-SS Red + yellow: orange = Rr-Yy-ss (50%) Red + red: black = RR-yy-ss (25%) Red + red: pink = RR-yy-SS (25%) Red + white: pink = Rr-yy-Ss (50%)

It's also worth noting that when you breed 2 Mystery Island Orange Roses together, they have a 6.25% chance of making a Blue Rose. 2 Mystery Island Orange Roses also have a 12.5% chance of making a "Special Red" Rose. Breeding 2 of these "Special Red" Roses together have a 25% chance of making a Blue Rose.
Indeed, unfortunately however not everyone can gain access to mystery island oranges. But this will be mentioned in the next video for those who do. Hoping to rush it out tonight but we'll see how much I can get done in one day lol. (graphics wise).

I heard once you get a blue rose you can put it by itself and water it to get another blue rose. Is this a myth or does it have any merit and if it's true, what's the chance of spawning a blue rose from one blue rose parent?
As far as spawn chance, I have no idea. But I did it. I also grew extras from the hybrid reds but my single blue rose did duplicate. It’s a new feature in acnh. So I got lucky and it took me only 3 days while my wife has gone 2 weeks in game waiting on it to duplicate. *shrug* I can say from duping other flowers in this way that it’s much faster to cross breed. I don’t know if that’s a sample size things since there’s more flowers or what. TL;DR yes I have personally done it, but I don’t know the chance of it occurring.
@@KyroTVAC i think also breeding 2 blue roses have 100% chance of creating more blue roses so at least after all that work you can just have a patch of blues and keep breeding them
Don't know if you know this by now but you can completely skip getting those reds from the black and special white. Instead use the special whites with oranges from red x yellow to get the 25% orange. Then use that orange with the special whites again to get those 25% reds that have 25% blues.
lol, during the grueling process of following this guide without TTing, my fields and fields of oranges (breeded from seed packs and from hybrid island, I lost track) produced 4 blue roses. And then with those 4 I've been able to breed/clone about 40 total blues. Still appreciate the guide and think it's useful if you're just starting to do hybrid stuff and have a massive amount of open space that you can neatly organize in order to do each step many times in parallel. However, if your like me and your island is already covered in hybrid flower vomit and you're too lazy to clean it up, it's much easier to just place an unholy amount of oranges all over your island wherever you can squeeze them in and then just let your first blue be a happy accident. Of course, after getting the first one just clone it for more.

This is way, WAY too involved and needlessly complicated. I have no idea why Nintendo thought such absurd methods were a good idea to implement into a game which is extremely simplistic in every single other way. :/

There is a 4 step method people have found now. Seed Whites make Purple Those purples with a Seed Red make Pink Those Pinks with a Seed Yellow makes hybrid red Put all those hybrid reds in a checker pattern and cross fingers for a blue rose. Less chance of a blue rose (the long method gives you 1 in 4 chance to get blue rose) so pick your method wisely.
Hello everyone! I am really sad that we don't have something similar to the dream suite yet. This was one of the best additions to ac:nl. Now that our islands are more customizable than ever the dream suite isn't in the game anymore. For all new players: you could upload your Island into the dream suite and every player with an internet Connection could visit your Island. But of course this was all in a dream so the changes made by other players won't change your island. This was a great way to explore different Islands without needing another person. I sometimes spent hours just visiting other islands and getting Inspiration for my own. Now in animal crossing new horizons we maybe could even get a multiplayer for this. with a multiplayer We could play hide and seek with our friends and stuff like that. We all know that the team behind animal crossing listenes to their fans so I Hope that more youtubers will make a video about this. Maybe the team reacts to this and implements the dream suite into the game. I am also going to post this under a lot of animal crossing videos. Oh my, thank goodness FINALLY! A real live and time tested 100% full proof w/evidence of how to breed the infamous blue rose. I've been trying for almost a week now, time traveling for probably 4 months now and with a bunch of orange, purple, and hybrid red roses. Nothing was working. Most videos I've seen and articles I've read are all talk, but no show. THIS is what a real evidence is, not just wild guessing. Thank you man, I'll be doing this right now. I appreciate it tons.

@@briannahanover9299 -- you can only visit mystery islands that either have your native flower, or sometimes your alternative native flower. Same with fruits.
For example my native is Mums and Peach, and my alternative native are Windflowers and Apples. I haven't had an island spawn anything but those for me.
I actually tried this method and it worked! Sure, it took forever and was super complicated, but it worked! I now have 2 beautiful blue roses. Yay!
I'm a visual learner so thanks so much for the visual. The longest process for me was checking to see the 2 good purples to breed for perfect white rose. Now I finally have my blue rose and currently cloning it

@Senorbang No, there are no hybrid seeds from either nooklings or leif, There are only 3 color variants for flower seeds for all flowers, being white red and yellow. The only exception is windflowers which are orange red and white.
All other colors (blue, purple, orange except windflowers, black, etc.) must be obtained through breeding.
More appreciative doing it on your own. If you get things you want/need from others online, and you time travel, why bother playing the game lmao
btw the trick of using the fence works for the hybrids that look the same as seeded flowers, you just have to fence the seded flower so it can't clone and if the same color as the seded. one breeds it is a special one. example: red seded pansie + blue fence the red off and this will stop a clone from coming out, and if the blue breeds a red ypu can use those reds to make purple pansie's

I took rose starters and planted them all in a pile with no spacing (but shifting the colors around) and ended up with a blue rose- my friend just sent me this guide to show me how friggin lucky I am.
Bad news for me tho is I already moved all those roses elsewhere and didn't keep track of the ones that created the blue RIP ME

Ahhh thank you so much, I had been using the method that has a 1/64 chance and was so sick of breeding. I tried this and it was SOOO much faster!! I just got my first blue! :D
The issue with the 1/64 chance is that half the reds you get actually can’t even make a blue xD so it makes it pretty hard to get realistically.
This is like old EV training in Pokemon.

Quick Question: Although we can't use Same-Color offsprings from the seeded roses, could we use the same-color offsprings from the breeded ones, like the special White or Red?
It really depends. The hybrid red 2’s I know can make more reds from cross breeding that also produce blue.
If you aren’t far into the process I would wait until the video that should (hopefully) come out later tomorrow. The method is almost twice as fast.

I got my fist blue rose today from some random special reds I got from just breading normally. I had seen this information before and had just set up my crossbreeding garden to breed this way the previous day. So was funny that I got the blue rose today. Lol

This guide is good for getting multiple blues. This is because you have a 25% chance (during offspring) to get blue roses, so it's just like getting black roses technically (after hybrid 2 red roses).
And there me who needs rose seeds. Also it doesn't seem that hard when you break it down. I only starting in my science journey so anything more then 4*4 punnet square (idk if you can really do a punnet square in this case 😂) is alot. thank you. Just need to get some bloody roses. Hopefully leaf will have some and I just going to go nuts 😂😂.
Butterfly Simmer xD you would use one square for each gene in this case so 1 for the R’s, Y’s, W’s and S’s.

Blue Rose is the only flower I don't have (obvs I don't have Gold either) but I enjoy breeding the flowers - friends have offered to give me Blue roses but I just want to have the satisfaction of breeding them myself!

About the hybrid roses 🌹 in the beginning of the video, it’s not a 50% chance for them to even spawn it’s actually a 12.5% chance so the method you’re using is better in the long run and I with many other people are thankful that you clarified deeply about this topic

khaan salih there is a chance that it still has the genes to produce blue, it’s just not guaranteed. ^_^ hopefully it works for you.
i also skipped the steps, but im aware that the red roses it produces have a 50/50 chance of being ones with the genes to make blue roses
If you are a masochistic wizard, you can also get the same genes as seed flowers through careful breeding. Just in case anyone was curious.

So for lillies red and yellow seed flowers should breed orange 50% of the time.
Genetics for lillies are as follows
Seed red = RR-yy-Ss
Seed yellow = rr-YY-ss
Seed white = rr-yy-SS
Red + yellow: orange = Rr-Yy-ss (50%)
Red + red: black = RR-yy-ss (25%)
Red + red: pink = RR-yy-SS (25%)
Red + white: pink = Rr-yy-Ss (50%)

Great video! It's also worth noting that when you breed 2 Mystery Island Orange Roses together, they have a 6.25% chance of making a Blue Rose.
2 Mystery Island Orange Roses also have a 12.5% chance of making a "Special Red" Rose. Breeding 2 of these "Special Red" Roses together have a 25% chance of making a Blue Rose.
Indeed, unfortunately however not everyone can gain access to mystery island oranges. But this will be mentioned in the next video for those who do. Hoping to rush it out tonight but we'll see how much I can get done in one day lol. (graphics wise).

I heard once you get a blue rose you can put it by itself and water it to get another blue rose. Is this a myth or does it have any merit and if it's true, what's the chance of spawning a blue rose from one blue rose parent?
As far as spawn chance, I have no idea. But I did it. I also grew extras from the hybrid reds but my single blue rose did duplicate. It’s a new feature in acnh. So I got lucky and it took me only 3 days while my wife has gone 2 weeks in game waiting on it to duplicate. *shrug* I can say from duping other flowers in this way that it’s much faster to cross breed. I don’t know if that’s a sample size things since there’s more flowers or what. TL;DR yes I have personally done it, but I don’t know the chance of it occurring.
@@KyroTVAC i think also breeding 2 blue roses have 100% chance of creating more blue roses so at least after all that work you can just have a patch of blues and keep breeding them

Don't know if you know this by now but you can completely skip getting those reds from the black and special white. Instead use the special whites with oranges from red x yellow to get the 25% orange. Then use that orange with the special whites again to get those 25% reds that have 25% blues.

Frizi Woti it’s possible, depending how they were bred. There’s more than 1 way to get them, this method just takes the element of randomness out.
lol, during the grueling process of following this guide without TTing, my fields and fields of oranges (breeded from seed packs and from hybrid island, I lost track) produced 4 blue roses. And then with those 4 I've been able to breed/clone about 40 total blues.
Still appreciate the guide and think it's useful if you're just starting to do hybrid stuff and have a massive amount of open space that you can neatly organize in order to do each step many times in parallel. However, if your like me and your island is already covered in hybrid flower vomit and you're too lazy to clean it up, it's much easier to just place an unholy amount of oranges all over your island wherever you can squeeze them in and then just let your first blue be a happy accident. Of course, after getting the first one just clone it for more.
The worst part is always the cleanup afterwards lol. I like that term flower vomit. Suits the feeling xD

This is way, WAY too involved and needlessly complicated. I have no idea why Nintendo thought such absurd methods were a good idea to implement into a game which is extremely simplistic in every single other way. :/

There is a 4 step method people have found now.
Seed Whites make Purple
Those purples with a Seed Red make Pink
Those Pinks with a Seed Yellow makes hybrid red
Put all those hybrid reds in a checker pattern and cross fingers for a blue rose.
Less chance of a blue rose (the long method gives you 1 in 4 chance to get blue rose) so pick your method wisely.

I am really sad that we don't have something similar to the dream suite yet. This was one of the best additions to ac:nl. Now that our islands are more customizable than ever the dream suite isn't in the game anymore.
For all new players: you could upload your Island into the dream suite and every player with an internet Connection could visit your Island. But of course this was all in a dream so the changes made by other players won't change your island. This was a great way to explore different Islands without needing another person. I sometimes spent hours just visiting other islands and getting Inspiration for my own.
Now in animal crossing new horizons we maybe could even get a multiplayer for this. with a multiplayer We could play hide and seek with our friends and stuff like that.
We all know that the team behind animal crossing listenes to their fans so I Hope that more youtubers will make a video about this. Maybe the team reacts to this and implements the dream suite into the game. I am also going to post this under a lot of animal crossing videos. I don't even know if that get's any recognition but idc. btw sorry for my english. It's not my first language.
