I’ve just bought one. Expensive, but a no-brainer choice for a high-end multipurpose vehicle. Excellent interior, excellent ride quality and dynamics, heaps of power mated to a super-smooth gearbox. It compares amazingly well and is very similar in daily use to our GLC, despite being a commercial vehicle. Love every opportunity and excuse to get in and drive it! You’ve first-footed here in the process of rightly recognising it as a Classic; Mercedes-Benz broke the mould and created a completely new genre with this - the luxury crew cab! Hope they see sense and release a replacement in a few years time...
Just read your comment. 3 years on, how is your vehicle? Still as good and enjoyable as when you first bought it? Any updates? Any negatives or super positives outside of this vid? Thanks for your input mate.
I absolutely love my X350d, I've gone up to the top of mountain I. Snow, the hill decent is sick ❤️I pick up my daughter every weekend and it is awesome, sport mode say goodbye to a4s and 520ds 😂😂
@@nigelwest3430 Hey, thanks for your nice clarification. I think everyone knows that Mercedes built it in cooperation with Nissan and Renault at the Nessan plants in Barcelona ;) Besides, I never said anything wrong, I just said that it would be nice if Mercedes continues to offer pickups 😉. I have the Power version with the OM642 engine. I love this pickup its simple amazing
Great review ! Everyone I know that owns an X Class loves it including me...Everyone that slags it has never driven or even been in one...Oh well it is a collectors edition now 😄
Great video, music as well. Just purchased a 350d in Australia, great pricing at the moment due to COVID-19. 😷 have driven a VW Amarok for past 2 years, this vehicle is better in almost every aspect ... except lack of CarPlay.
The problem is the X-Class (H60B) has never been anywhere near a Mercedes facility, It WAS just a tarted up Nissan Navara (H60A) Engineered by Nissan and built on the same Nissan production line in Barcelona as the Navara and the Renault Alaskan (U60A) the only real difference was the OM642 (V6) variant that you were had a Mercedes engine fitted
Nice test but I don't know where you see the quality. I own one (x250) and NO I don't see the quality. Nothing better then competition. Mine is half leather and thats the only real leather in that truck. Dash is fake leather plus it squeaks. Whole done out of rough, cheap plastic. There are few more things that are crap. I will say that truck drives great on the road. You don't feel that weight, corners great. Would I buy it again... NO Too much money for nothing more then competition
I've had both X250 and X350 and thought the quality was miles above the model everyone assumes it's basically a lift of. That said, the vehicles I drive are only brand new and maintained to press garage standards, so I wouldn't get one that squeaks and they only spec to the highest quality. As such, I don't get to see any of the issues that you (as a consumer) actually get on a daily basis, which is a massive shame.
@@TheAutoDadHmm, I guess so. Mine is 3 years old now (47k miles) so I might get some squeaks. Had him since new. One thing that I still like about that truck is how it drives. More like an SUV. Anyway I liked the test and subscribed the channel. Keep up the good work
As a journalist, it's an opinion. Having driven literally everything except The Ssangyong offerings - and having driven that one for 2 months... I'm pretty certain it's top of the top for me. :)
I mean, from personal experience, the only truck I’ve ever had bad times in on road or off has been a Hilux. Can’t speak for the new generation though.
@@TheAutoDad Surprising. I find the Hilux is in the top 1 or 2 out the segment for almost every category. Offroad: Ranger / Hilux/ Dmax Reliability: Dmax / Hilux. Towing: Amarok/ Hilux Interior design: Dmax/ Hilux Duarbility: Hilux/ Dmax/ L200 Spares/accessories: Ranger / Hilux Value: L200 On road: Navara/ Amarok/ Hilux Dealer network: Ford/ Toyota/ VW MPG: All equally absolutely horrific. Ive driven them all and without a doubt the best all-rounders in the class is the new 2.8 auto Hilux and the new Isuzu Dmax.
What do we think? Can the king be replaced?
It wasn’t the king from the start
The Hilux can never be replaced.

I hope they see sense too. Expensive, but worth it.

Great review. Really balanced and hit all the realistic and functional thing that people want to hear about. Thanks mate. Considering buying one 🤔

pick my 2020 up next week :D black on black cant wait :D RIP King
Great video! Amazing pickup. I hope that Mercedes will produce it again.
Nissan built them, Not Mercedes..............Sorry but it's a fact

How do you brand a failure a king?

It was a car for morons.
Davoodoox1 Can’t afford one hey...

The lack of CarPlay was annoying but forgivable. The V6 helps with that though! Happy motoring...
Hi Dean, Could you like let me know how much you bought your X350? Thanks a lot
ran cui $75k for an “Edition 1”, hope this assists.
Best review the X class deserves but never got! 👍
Thank you kindly!
What’s the price for this?
Anywhere from 35-55k GBP.
What’s the towing capacity
Great video 👍
Is a Nissan Navara o Frontier modified by Mercedes but is a Nissan
Only about 3 elements remain from Nissan, Mercedes reengineered the platform considerably. :)
@@TheAutoDadSorry but that is completely untrue, The X Class has never been anywhere near a Mercedes faculty,

It's a Nissan, Nissan build quality, X250 was a Navara with styling changes
