I am English, always drove Mercedes, BMW and VW in the UK. I moved to Thailand and bought a Toyota Hilux Pick Up. Great vehicle, well built and reliable but what I really like is the fact that you can open the bonnet and have access to all the mechanics of the vehicle. With a BMW you spend the first hour removing all the plastic covers to get to the engine and those plastic covers usually break in time.
Unfortunately that's fairly accurate. It only serves to keep pushing the prices up out of reach for the people that actually need a truck or that a truck is most convenient to use. Meanwhile, us working class people that can't afford a new truck are left picking through the trash on the used market for something usable and that will last longer than a year or two.
Partially accurate. In the USA people tend to do much more with their vehicles than in the EU/England. Heading down to the local hardware shop and picking up plywood, concrete and filler sand/topsoil is a typical weekend for many Americans. I've lived in both places and have subscribed to both modes of thought, but the EU desperately needs to bring full sized trucks in to help the people with their needs. Right now you can't even if you want. The structure of the roads make it next to impossible.

Toyota hilux will carry weight better with manual gearbox .alot of people said its not fast but it has powerful torque . 👍
That made no sense bro
This pick up truck is good I like all cars
Why did you compare a v6 3l to a 4 cilinder 2.2
Dude this is a true Toyota vehicle
TOYOTA is unbeatable you can’t compare any other cars the king I’ve got 20 years mechanic experience
Longest Hilux commercial ever.
Doesn't ranger come in a 3.2 litre version. Shouldn't you have used that to compare. 🙄
Then it will win.
@@craigice9635 Hilux comes in a 2.8 version, so no it wouldn't
I was being sarcastic. Regardless though, Hilux is down on power power and torque so not in the game.
Which is the most sold vehicle in Australia.
this man just said big pickup truck when he is driving a midsize truck lol he needs to drive a full ton truck from the US
Yeah but they dont sell them here there to big for our roads
Should have had the auto Amarok , big difference
Why wasn’t the 3.2 in the ranger not used?
Because Ford of Europe resigned of it. All dealers i Europe could order the "last" shipment od 3.2 in the end of 2018.
So this year we will have both, the last 3.2 cars and Lift with bi-xenon and Raptor.
Ranger,Mazda bt50 Dmax 3.0 and hilux 2.8 the only 4 one would consider, but don’t piss around with the 2.2 engine in the ranger go for 3.2 more power and torque .If you are serious about load hauling and towing capacity and general all round capabilities those 4 are the pick , the rest are far to expensive for what you get, show pony’s . The triton is a good package for what you get on price , but in testing it runs lower down in the pack when towing and load hauling and 4x4ing off road capabilities are put to the test in Australia and New Zealand.
This is the worst comparison of pickups on RUclips..
Kevin McCormack still was better than the grand tour lol
Yep, very poor review indeed. Putting up an "invincible" Hilux against the outdated L200(because the new one is already out) and the now-old version of the Ranger, is rather disappointing.
your absolutely right ..
Loving this Mega Test
Love the hilux ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ king of pickup 🤴🤴🤴🤴👱♂️
In the Philippines, theres a manual option for the toyota hilux
In Kenya we also get a 6speed manual transmission at the show room
Imbeciles 🤣🤣👍🏾
Why are you not trying the 2019 Mitsubishi? This is by far the worst Ute test I have seen. No Navara, no Isuzu, small engine Ford, just a really bad review.
Hilux is KING!! HATE IT OR LOVE IT, IT REMAINS THE BEST IN ITS CLASS
Unimogs are so cool.
Surely when mentioning the power and towing capacity its also important to mention the curbweight? Especially when for instance the amorak is around 200kg heavier than the l200
They had these on the grande tour , best one ford ranger
In Thailand there is a new Mitsubishi pick up truck.
"Don't forget to up-thumb"!? That's a new one, most people know it as LIKE.
It's a joke darling, c'mon.
That's the old Triton new one is killing the competition
Hi Guys Im SCHMEEE yes but Mitsubishi are leaving the U.K. and Europe
The new ranger here in Thailand were it is made now has a twin turbo 2.0 and 10 speed auto 213PS and 500 Nm torque, also here they have the ranger raptor.
Why not a 3.2 ranger?...oh...its because it would eat up the competition...
Yeah you are right... We also got a Ranger 3.2
Unless they all have the same tyres fitted then you can't really come to much of a conclusion on the vehicles traction itself.
Include Isuzu D-max also
Let's be honest, the best car/truck is the car/truck you are not paying to maintain and fill up with gas 😁
Although he slated the L200 i wouldn’t swap mine !! NOT The the best Review I’ve seen
Mark Adcock I don’t think he even had it it 4H 😂
@@jamess9939 Indeed. and did he say say the stability control was ON..first thing you do offroad is turn it off. wont get anywhere if its on.
stefan lawinski yeah definitely. I’ve test drove an l200 and they are by far the best pickup truck of them all. The Nissan looks nice but the seats in the back are very uncomfortable and obviously same with the x class as if it based on it. the Toyota is very very underpowered also
@@jamess9939 lol l200 are the worst pickup ever made dude they suck so bad
Dont tell me that L200 are pickups because its sucks so bad they give pickups a bad name
TOYOTA for me. Looks great, it is huge, it can go anywhere and the interior is how it should be. The VW looks great too to be honest!
Toyota Hilus is the brand you can actually pass it to your grand children
You dropped the ranger because of a slight scramble over the mounds....yet when you switched to 4Low for the final hill, you were in 2wd high.....so ranger done whole track in 2 wheel drive basically....ranger is well biult and also is the safest to be in with 5 star safety rating
Rather use a ford ranger 3.2 diesel
Best of them all
Totally agree
Good ol American steel
