Unfortunately that's fairly accurate. It only serves to keep pushing the prices up out of reach for the people that actually need a truck or that a truck is most convenient to use. Meanwhile, us working class people that can't afford a new truck are left picking through the trash on the used market for something usable and that will last longer than a year or two.
Partially accurate. In the USA people tend to do much more with their vehicles than in the EU/England. Heading down to the local hardware shop and picking up plywood, concrete and filler sand/topsoil is a typical weekend for many Americans. I've lived in both places and have subscribed to both modes of thought, but the EU desperately needs to bring full sized trucks in to help the people with their needs. Right now you can't even if you want. The structure of the roads make it next to impossible.

In Australia, we grew up with utes. With extra suspension could carry 1 ton. The vehicles shown here are what we call single or crew cab Utes. Yes, they are bigger and carry larger payload, but in day to day running around they are overkill. I remember back in the '70s when I was working out in the Simpson Desert, the local cocky bought a ford F100. The F150 wouldn't fit 3 44gal across the width of the tray whereas the Holden 1 tonner could. So he bought the Holden for increased carrying capacity.
It'd be nice if you do a test that also focus a little bit more on the pickup as a workhorse not just off road but also how it does with max payload how much strain it does to the suspension. Personally I like car advice more because they categorize it.

Sorry, but the Unimog was already moving on its own when you started the Hilux pull test. Thats why it won - the other two cars had to pull it, and it also looked like brakes were released diffrently by the unimog driver.
The truth is, this test is totaly useless. When you deside which pickup you buy, it all depends on what you are going to use it for. Also, different engines, specs, tires etc is huge factors not taken in consideration in this test. In my mind you dont buy a pickup for a family city car, so it’s kind of strange taking that perspective. To test off road capabilities this track is not demanding enough to separate them at all. All the cars has been on the market a long time, kind of missleading tumbnail. I’m sorry but, this test was a waste of time in my mind.
The best 4x4 is anything with a heavy duty solid front axle. The only truck manufacturers that still make them are Ford and Dodge. The Ford F250/350 and the Dodge 2500/3500. Personally, I like around a 2013 Ford F350, or around a 2016 to 2018 Ram 3500. Just make sure the suspension is not air operated. Leaf or coil spring is great. Hell, even torsion bar is better than air.
Really impressed with the ultimate challenge, Great work and here we know how, Toyota Hilux is the best! But I feel like that the last comparison with that small double cab with that big truck was not a bit fair! Anyway job well done.

Jeeze, all of 10 years ago and the L200 was the best in class offroad. Mitsubishi has really dropped the ball.
I thought this was supposed to show 4x4 Pickup trucks. 😁
Sorry, but the Unimog was already moving on its own when you started the Hilux pull test. Thats why it won - the other two cars had to pull it, and it also looked like brakes were released diffrently by the unimog driver.
Watching an English review of 'pick-up' trucks is like watching an Aussie tutorial on classy behaviour....
Yeah, it's not gonna work.
zealman79 like watching an American program on education
Which is the most sold vehicle in Australia.
In the Philippines, theres a manual option for the toyota hilux
In Kenya we also get a 6speed manual transmission at the show room
Imbeciles 🤣🤣👍🏾
Loving this Mega Test
In Thailand there is a new Mitsubishi pick up truck.
Why not a 3.2 ranger?...oh...its because it would eat up the competition...
Yeah you are right... We also got a Ranger 3.2
Toyota doesnt have its reputation for nothing
Reputation for having the worst handbrake system of all 4x4 vehicles.
@@Hawkeye1off1 honestly so what if its handbrakes are crap, the rest of the car is a masterpiece
@@Hawkeye1off1 do you even own that car for you to say those thing i have 2 Hilux and hand brakes are fine you idiot
Unimogs are so cool.
Came for the trucks. Stayed for the Unimog.
I am going to get the money for the truck today and then I’m going home and sleep in it😅
Really impressed with the ultimate challenge, Great work and here we know how, Toyota Hilux is the best! But I feel like that the last comparison with that small double cab with that big truck was not a bit fair! Anyway job well done.
Have the cars got dislocation cones on ...
The triton deserves to be on top of the thumbnail
I’m at 0:45 in the video and munchies prediction is that either the Hilux or the Ranger will win.
Toyota 4 Life ❗️
Toyota4Life Hahaha! Toyotas are trash nowadays.
good narration
Although he slated the L200 i wouldn’t swap mine !! NOT The the best Review I’ve seen
Mark Adcock I don’t think he even had it it 4H 😂
@@jamess9939 Indeed. and did he say say the stability control was ON..first thing you do offroad is turn it off. wont get anywhere if its on.
stefan lawinski yeah definitely. I’ve test drove an l200 and they are by far the best pickup truck of them all. The Nissan looks nice but the seats in the back are very uncomfortable and obviously same with the x class as if it based on it. the Toyota is very very underpowered also
@@jamess9939 lol l200 are the worst pickup ever made dude they suck so bad
Dont tell me that L200 are pickups because its sucks so bad they give pickups a bad name
