Great video, I agree barbless hooks are fine, I like a curved beak pattern , , ive used size 14s even let the line slack in snags n still not lost fish ,,
Great video! I have been trying out chickpeas since discovering your video earlier in the year. I have caught.... Bugger all 😞 Fishing carp/barble infested waters, following your technique for prepping the chickpeas and nothing. The fishing has been very slow in these parts thanks to mixed weather but since the weather has settled I have managed to get a few carp on sweetcorn but still nothing on chickpeas. I am going to wait now until later in the year, when there is less water in the river/dam and have another crack on the chickpeas. Tomorrow I am off to check out, hopefully the waters have subsided enough for me to get to my secret swim, with sweetcorn and hope to bag up on some decent carp and maybe a few barble in the mix!
Thanks for your comment akwamarsunzal👍 Not sure where your are in the world sounds like a big river... It's a shame you haven't caught on the chick peas yet.. It's difficult to know which chick peas you are using.. I know from messages before you haven't got a Tesco in the part of world you live. Keep me posted I'm sure you will catch soon.👍👍
@@cookiesfishingcapers9299 Thanks man! I am in Portugal. River is not massive but is damed and, at the moment, is the fullest I have seen it for a long time. No Tesco but Lidl and other "better" supermarkets. The chichpeas are decent quality and size but not massive. I´m off out this morning for a session with sweetcorn, I need to catch something 🙂 but will definitely give chickpeas another shot later in the year. Tight lines man!
@@kennypartridge1853 😀 Don't forget you can use your oven as well Kenny👍 I've done a video which shows me holding two bags of chick peas flavoured in my hands. That will be the video to watch..👍 Or even straight from the tin as Long as you use Tescos own they tend to be a lot more nutty 👍👍
Thanks for your comment Darren👍 I normally crush 2 to 3 chick peas at the bottom of the Black cap feeder where I've cut it out at the bottom and then either top up with 4mm pellets or put 5 or 6 chick peas. To be honest you could use a cage feeder and crush the chick peas at the bottom fill with pellets and cap the top with 3 or 4 chick peas. The chickn peas act as a stopper once the feeder hits the bottom it eventually releases your feed from the feeder. I do from time to time catapult a few chick peas up stream.👍 Tight Lines 👍 👍
Never seen a Barbel before ...ever. What kind of fish is that? Looks like a HUGE fish tank fish, I have seen for sale.
😂😂😂😂
Native in the Uk in some rivers and around Europe.
Very hard fighting fish when you catch them and very majestic👍👍👍👍
