I've seen a streamer whose gameplay skills are average at best go for 12 consecutive victories as monsters, with shit like killing hunters on lvl 1, winning as the spider monster despite playing as her for the first time and not knowing anything, and generally fucking around. And no, the influx of new players after F2P switch does not explain that - because he himself hadn't played since release. Balanced as fuck.

The only thing I hate about Steam reviews are the people with hundreds of hours played, complaining about a lack of content and overpriced DLC, which they clearly bought. I did 100% on Final Fantasy X back in the day, and that was 120 hours, with insanely challenging end-game side-content. Yet 3:11 here's a guy with 600+ hours on this POS saying it's fun but there's nothing to do. Like they sound bitter for even liking the game once everyone buries it, and they join in because they ate the crap sandwich for months.

Like, people complain when gamers write reviews without buying the game, people complain when gamers write reviews with too little time in the game, now there is too much time in the game apparently? Maybe people just have to realize that anyone has a right to say “this game is shit”? He could’ve just run across the map for 600 hours because he had no money for any other game, or good pc for other games, or because he was mentally ill or any other personal reason etc, but in the end he sees game as shit. I’ve played some games so long that I either grew up out of them or they turned to shit by devs so I actually saw them as shit and downvoted them, some I played for so long just because of other people who liked it, and still I wouldn’t recommend the game

People have use the phrase “dead/dying game” incorrectly all the time. But in this case here, Evolve is ACTUALLY a “dead game”, because there IS actual proof that the player count went down (steam charts), and the game has shut down its servers after nobody is playing this game anymore.
dead game just refers to any game with a very low player count,and considering most mp games fail to have a stable community it's not that rare to see that term used

The amusing thing is that value is a bit misleading.
That number came from adding EVERY single thing available in the store up.
Problem is that doubled and tripled up on many things. Like hunter 1, 2, 3 and 4 might each have a "blue gun skin". But then a package would offer all 4 of those blue skins in a combined package. Or there were packages that had *multiple* of those packages, "Get all the colors at once for even more discount!".
So on one hand ya, there was a lot of things- On the other, not as much as people thought initially because of misleading statements.
Only anime games can get away with that if they have bikini armor.

Personally I disagree, microtransactions are still a thing but companies are a little more conscious about it, specially after what happened to evolve and SW battlefront, sure you buy cosmetic things but many of this are f2p games like fortnite and apex legends so the price is not an addition to a fully priced 60$ game, also many of this games allow you to grind for the premium resources, so despite it's still a thing, my opinion is that it hasn't gotten necesarily worse
@@josepablobonillajimenez6297 Like Apex for me is fine. You get 1000 Apex coins for 10 bucks and the battle pass is 930 AC. You get 1000 coins total if you reach above level 90 in the battle pass, I only bought the Battle Pass once in Season 3 and never had to spend any more money for Apex Coins.
I feel like what we really need is like every critic should have a very specific page that portrays his or hers experience as a gamer. What games they play, at what difficulty, for how long, what are their stats at specific fields, like if you see that this person plays his second total FPS or only plays multiplayer or liked THAT campaign that you hated, you will know whether their opinion matters at all. TO YOU.
I had a favourite team of critics because close to like 90% of their arguments, their positions, their grades, felt extremely close to mine. I've even met them offline and yes, they were just like me, same experience, similar taste in games. These are people I can trust not because of "brand" but because we share tastes.
I can't trust some random person, even if they review a game for a big mag. I know nothing about them!
I remember reading an article on some game, and I replayed it multiple times, from Easy to Veteran difficulties. And this game, I really don't remember what it was, had like this sort of security wheels on Very Easy mode. It was like a Story mode cheat, you know, built in to protect these unexperienced players. It felt really seamless, too, if I was a new player, I would love it. And I'm reading this article - and this loud, condescending reviewer is bashing the game for this mechanism, never acknowledging the difficulties. And I was like "Wait, lol, he thinks it's a core mechanic. He played the game on lowest difficulty and bashes something about the game's strength!"
A great point there, and I feel that it can also be a useful thing to know the differences between your own opinions and that of someone else, too, since if they dislike something that you like, or vice versa, then you can essentially look at their opinion to get a rough estimate of what you would think of the game yourself.

Kaksteist Kuud Dank Sauce 1 is one of my all time fav games, and I paid 14 euros for it and its DLC. But I would have paid the full price, no problem. The best way to do things is probably to pirate games first, then pay for them if you like them enough.
But that's too technical and intelligent for most folks.

The first fun and fresh FPS in years and they give it what is basically their lowest score for triple A games (because they'd never rate a big release game below a 6)

Somers Anders doom was whatever to me. regret paying $40 for it. I didn't enjoy the the campaign mode enough to warrant a second playthrough, didn't care for the custom stages and pvp multiplayer was horrid. yeah I give it a 7 or 6. I can't agree to paying $60 not even $40 for 15 hours of "clear this room" . the enemies were uninteresting to say the least and when I beat the final boss I thought "that's it?". I even tried playing old doom maps that were custom made but it didn't help. my value in a game comes from longevity, fun and rewarding. heavy story driven games that take 10hrs and never touch again are games that I would rather watch than play.
Red Doom isn't a game for you then, and I don't mean that in a pretentious way. Doom is meant for players who just like endless killing and the satisfaction that comes from it. As a huge Doom fan, I still play Doom 2 to this very day because it's incredibly rewarding to shred down demons. Doom 4 is incredibly enjoyable because it has that feeling; slaughter is wonderful. The gameplay is its own reward.
The story is icing on the cake, it's a fun way to tie it back to Doom 1 and 2.
And you have to admit that the custom stages give a lot of replay value and life to the game. Doom 4 will be around for quite a while because of this.
Not saying you aren't allowed to an opinion, just don't knock a game that actually turned out well. It never lied at E3, it maintains the fun of Doom, it has a solid story, it's got everything a Doom fan wants. It's honorable, to say the least, that Doom was a triple A title that actually gave a shit.

Well, if they decide to actually make Evolve into a successful game. They should relist it on steam and consoles and put development into the game. I thought that game was gonna be like campaign with levels of both factions. instead, it was a multiplayer campaign that had long ass missions. "5 secs left to defend this objective... 4... 3... 2... Objective failed, the enemy has captured the objective" -adds 15 minutes-

The thing is, I think Brink had everything it needed to be a great game but they screwed up the balance of it. They created a rewarding parcour system but no maps where you can use it to full effect, so why would you even use the weakest bodytype? Why were there even bodytypes instead of all nimble, quick classes?The story tried the same thing as Titanfall where they put a story into your multiplayer games. It was a game which was weighed down by faulty map design and balance.
BRINK sucks, but its a guilty pleasure of mine.
It breaks my heart to see this. It was my favorite and main game for a year and a half, but the devs killed it with their lack of updates and money grabbing DLCs.
It wasn't DLC. Cut content sold as DLC. It made you feel cheated when you got the game as a preorder or on day 1.
I don’t feel sorry for them. They knew that left for dead was a good game so they used it as a platform to sell their new game. What they should’ve done is made a good game not kept referring back to left for dead to get people to buy an unfinished and frankly just bad product.

CakeIS based Well Battleborn already fucking died. Pat form Best Friends also commented that servers for FFXIV thinned out due to Overwatch's release. There's not much incentive for games like Lawbreakers to have stable fanbases if they have to compete with Overwatch.
Now what I did say wrong is that games like CS:GO, Battlefield and COD that have loyal fanbases that are established will maintain their current level of players, but any new IPs will have a steep hill to have. Blizzard killed the MMORPG, Hearthstone is the biggest card game on the market and they sold 7 million copies super quickly. Plus other multiplayer games have to compete wth stuff like LOL and Dota for their player's free time.

+ew275x People are still in the honeymoon period, it will no doubt be a big game for a few years but in a few months the fanbase will mellow out.. Battleborn failed because it was very similar to Overwatch visually and gameplay-wise, it had terrible marketing, it came out around the same time as Overwatch and Overwatch was just a better game. Overwatch wont kill new games in the slightest, Battleborn was just the perfect storm of disaster.
I remember being so hyped to play this when I saw the trailers. To this day I never got to play it because I didn't have a console until recently. Pretty sad that even if I were still interested in playing, the game is literally too dead to play.
