@sneakyfox The doc still is a very light piece of plastic with not much to it. I haven't had problems with scratches. However I also use a protective foil.
The switch had the strangest hardware faults. When i got my switch and played botw for the first time i noticed when i had both controllers connected the screen would literally just go blank after about 30 seconds. Playing with both controllers disconnected from the console was fine though, and putting the console in sleep and waking it would fix the screen.

I remember watching this 5 years ago when I got my switch, I was terrified of these thing happening to me. The things I actually did experience was putting the wrist strap on the wrong way, the dock scratching my screen, a botw crash, joycon drift, joycon connectivity issues, joycons not latching on correctly, and dead pixels. My fears were right EDIT: Now my touch screen is randomly firing up and down near the left of the screen. Thanks Nintendo!

Time flies so freaking fast. I still have my 2017 Erista Switch (code name for one of the first ever switches released) with me and I now modded it in 2023 with Atmosphère which brought me so much memories when SX OS was still a thing. Graphical bugs you see on the video never happened to me and still hasn't been bricked after all these 6 years. My own Switch will be 7 once November starts. Ah I wish we could go back

The switch had the strangest hardware faults. When i got my switch and played botw for the first time i noticed when i had both controllers connected the screen would literally just go blank after about 30 seconds. Playing with both controllers disconnected from the console was fine though, and putting the console in sleep and waking it would fix the screen.

I remember watching this 5 years ago when I got my switch, I was terrified of these thing happening to me. The things I actually did experience was putting the wrist strap on the wrong way, the dock scratching my screen, a botw crash, joycon drift, joycon connectivity issues, joycons not latching on correctly, and dead pixels. My fears were right
EDIT: Now my touch screen is randomly firing up and down near the left of the screen. Thanks Nintendo!

My switch once froze while watching RUclips and it would not turn off, I had to wait until it ran out of battery

@@Tuneway-Surfers.SurfVibes I sold it to my brother, it still works but the back plate has almost completely melted off due to overheating. (the same problem that one guy had when there micro sd card full on melted) Also the game card slot just doesn't work anymore.

I still have my 2017 Erista Switch (code name for one of the first ever switches released) with me and I now modded it in 2023 with Atmosphère which brought me so much memories when SX OS was still a thing. Graphical bugs you see on the video never happened to me and still hasn't been bricked after all these 6 years. My own Switch will be 7 once November starts. Ah I wish we could go back

With the switch it ended up being kind of a win, launch switch is easier to homebrew

The dead pixel message Nintendo issued is ridiculous. Of course pixels on LCD screens will die eventually but for them to be dead already on a device with no play time is just unacceptable.
I was actually in disbelief when I saw their page about it. Dead pixels is the sort of shit that shows up with high use several years later.
These people are getting them within a week.

DammitLeeroy dead pixels can appear in any new display. Even with highly expensive $1200 monitors can have dead pixels just after opening the box.
to be fair many company have this as a policy, it does seem super lame but its almost an industry standard at this point. check almost any other company(other than apple and big name phones) with displays and they will include this policy.
