Of all the reviews of these things I’ve never seen anyone mention the AUX Input on the base station. I’ve had A40’s for the longest time and I’ve always had it plugged in to PC via USB and the monitor my PS4/5 is plugged in via a headphone jack to the aux input on the mixamp. Never needed an optical cable. Guess I’ll take a bite and order these without knowing and return if it doesn’t work. I record with an Elgato 4K60 S+ so I don’t want to mess with adapters and splitters
Hey if you’re still around, did they end up working for you? I’m using arctis 5s connected wirelessly to my pc for discord then I have aux into my ps5 controller for game sounds. Seems you’re looking to do the same, is/should the same be applicable?
FYI. U don’t need the audio splitter. If your TV has a optical connection. Plug one end into the base station. An other end of the optical cable into your tv. Works fine u can mix audio just fine.
Do u use the optical and usb cord together? Or just one or the other (u said u need the usb cable thou for pc right)? What gives the best audio quality?
Is it worth getting the adapter for ps5? I have the LG C10 and it’s got an optical cable port, will i be able to use that and get the full features of the headset like as if it was directly into the console?
i bought the ones for xbox because at the time I didn't have a ps5. I do now and I'm wondering can I just buy the ps5 base station but use the headphones from the other?
In case noone already answered it, the Atmos card is only provided with the Xbox version. However it will work with the PS version. Have to pay for the license though.
I just want something wireless with a working on ear chatmix controls that works for PS5. The steelseries wireless pro only has the chatmix on the box.
Also the steelseries arctic pros allow you change it from the headset as well. The volume wheel on the left of the headset can be clicked in which switches from audio level, to source, to chat/game mix.
I believe it still encodes it as 5.1 and you can see that by looking at the icons displayed on the DAC screen of the headset. It may also default to the case of 3d audio as PS5 offers by default.
Hey, so I set this up on my PS5 with the Astro adapter and noticed when i put my ps5 into rest mode it mutes audio on all other inputs on my tv, for instance cable. Its almost like the tv is confused and thinks the audio is still coming from the PS5 and prioritizes it. Any idea how to fix this?????
would i be able to get both pc and playstation 5 audio simultaneously doing all this? for example if i was in a party chat on ps5 while watching youtube on my pc would i hear audio from both?
Only if you had your PC audio running into the Aux port on the back of the DAC. There is no way to connect the DAC to both a PlayStation and computer at the same time.
Is this a normal hdmi 2.0 extractor? Is There not a new better solution how you can use it without having influence on your fps or picture Quality Because with 2.0 you will never can Play 4 k on 120 hz
Unfortunately not until someone releases one in 2.1 or higher. My workaround is a 2.1 splitter prior to the Astro audio extractor. Makes for a ton of wires as shown but the audio is carried like normal but then I can have the video split to my monitor with full resolution.
And unfortunately, the Astro HDMI extractor is their "newest solution" which I guess they factored that the new consoles no longer had optical ports but they did not factor in that they are capable of higher refresh rates. Hell, the PS5 just got an update finally for Warzone to work with 1440p.
@@mitchellp7739 Yes it can. Please refer directly to Sony's store page for more. "The PS5 console supports the HDMI 2.1 specification, and it also supports 4K 120Hz video output."

I did not test it like that however if the sound is coming in through your optical port, then that part is irrelevant. It should work no problem.
