I am pleased with the film look, and satisfied with the digital image rendering these days. It is like an old classic car, and one of the nice modern cars -- both pleasing in their own way, and up to the task. I take it you have the perfect eyes for doing color, as many people are a tad bit off. While, at times I love the old film looks, I am truly amazed by the digital world of images, and how they look, at least on the monitor 🧐 In my final years, or decades, of shooting, I am leaning towards more and more street photography, and thus more story, and spontaneity. Thanks for letting the world know about the new editing tools, you know your stuff about editing. I only use cinematic film simulations on PhotoScape, which is for sure not close to the caliber of pro edit tools. I also like using the fake HDR tool for color and black & white. Take care, Loren

A very versatile app, but far too expensive for most photographers. I have found that using the Nik Collection in combination with LR or PS I can simulate the film look that appeals to me. Enjoy your channel. Thank you.

I do appreciate/enjoy your videos, always very subtle and very helpful. Love the Dehancer capabilities, a bit of an investment for this relative digital rookie, but having grown up printing my own monos I do love the range of film stock options. I disagree with the idea of this being cheating. It’s just using modern technology 👍

I visited your web site for some more info and got the impression your app is geared more towards film (movie) than still photography.
      Thanks

Thanks for this. Many amateurs can't afford to pay the high cost of plug-ins and the like. Can these colour effects be achieved solely in Lightroom? Really enjoying the content.

I've found out, that I can get the best film look by using a real film with an analog camera.

@@jflalonde Are you such a hustle? I enjoy taking my 36 shots, I'm happy with the result days later, "scanning" with the DSLR takes less than 10 minutes and delivers 40 MP RAW files with excellent quality, which I can work on in Photoshop, with a glass of wine, at my leisure. Luckily, I don't bill anyone for this either ;-)

    IMO
The film look belongs to those who take the time to master film cameras , understand development. Work within the limitations of old equipment and limited shots on a roll , live the heartache with all the errors that you make along the way
If you commit to that process it's rather depressing to see digital photography presets and software bumping digital photographers up the curve as it just undermines all the hard work that goes into real film photography
    It's cheating basically
