Such a great event. :) I was actually able to get Colin's autograph a couple of months before he died and I really treasure it, as well as the one I have from Richard Burns, which was the first driver autograph in my collection.
The origianl convoy from Lanark to Prodrive on the Saturday contained at one point almost 1400 Subaru cars on the M40 near Banbury and yes it was almost 30 miles long from first car (ME) to last car
I hope there's something after. That way he looked down on us and could see just how much he meant to so many people. Rest in peace Colin mcRae. Fastest cloud in heven
It was a great day and it was great to be part of it. Colin's 95 car is wonderful and it sounds amazing, we got a proper closeup of it when David Lapworth parked it next to my sister's car on the front row making the letter C. Thanks for sharing the footage. It was good to see the car being used in anger again and it brings back fond memories. Paul
this is one of the most greater memorials i have ever seen, i was a huge fan of colin and subaru, when i reed in the papers of his dead, i feel a hole in my hart, and when i saw the images from the helicopter , i drop some tears, what you did was awesome. thanks.
Oh my, that would be heaven to me. So many beautiful Subies. Amazing gathering of amazing cars in tribute to an amazing racer. Does it get any better than that? I don't think so.
so bloody amazing!!! I don't know what to say...and I always like to see Viki's skills!! and that Subaru remembers me a LOT of Things...very NICE... Colin McRae you're in our heart
Un tributo al gran maestro colin mcrae Subarista y para mí en lo personal el y lo mejor del rally de los 80 y 90 gracias por aver existido en nuestras vidas gran Colin mcrae un abrazo fuerte al cielo para ty Master
They didn't get it wrong; see ScoUK555's earlier comment! She does say "the car that gave SUBARU the world title" (as in Constructors title) rather than the car that gave Colin his title.
God I love the sound of the anti-lag system, the rapid backfire, mmm, beats any Ferrari or Lambo any day. Colin McRae is rallying and a legend. Keep racing Richard Burns in Heaven.
2:08 - with the statement 'if in doubt, flat out' in everyones minds, do you honestly think that it was a 'wrong turn' that took 100's of performance car enthusiasts away from the police and away from having to drive on a long, boring, straight road? Not that I know anything about what happened. Rest in peace Colin McRae. I watch sports to forget about any problems for a little while, to be entertained for a little while and Colin McRae was the most entertaining driver I've ever seen in my entire life - even him out of the car, attempting to repair it could be dramatic. Sport needs characters like him, they make it what it is. There will never be another like him.
vaggos giannopoulos She said 1996, because this is Colin McRae's RACC Rally Catalunya Subaru Impreza 555 and the Subaru World Rally Team won the WRC manufacturers' title that year.
No doubt he could have won more World Championships if he had been able to back off a bit and drive for points, but he had to drive 110% all the time, unbelievable to watch and the reason the fans loved him
Does any one know when did he say: "IF IN DOUBT, FLAT OUT".....?? I really want to see a video of Colin saying that... Can any one help me out with this?
It was after a stage in Australia in 97/98. It appears on one of the WRC DVD review of the season, i will have a look and see if i can find it. I think it is also said in the DVD called The Early Years, but i think this is the same footage from OZ
McRae was seeing it from the sky and was laughing the shit out of him! Anyways that was a great tribute a big bravo to all that contributed to it.. RIP we will always remember you you crazy dude!
She buggered up the convoy by being in a rush to go home after filming so the convoy didn't count because she got in the middle of it with a vauxhall, I was there I seen it with my own 2 eyes, there was no traffic jam she made it because it all had to stop because there was vauxhall in the middle
100%. It booted me right in the balls when she started swaning about setting stuff up. Like we had not been planning this for months beforehand and she came along and thought, nah i want it done this way
if you type "Mcrae" and "kames" into the browser on this site you will see clips of both both Colin and his dad (another all time great), thrashing Colin's car around an Ayrshire amateur race track ;-) Well worth a look
Was a great weekend, wouldn't go as far as saying was the best weekend of my life though, I think wedding, child birth and various other events were better for me. RIP Colin you legend!
I support you, stuff those guys who thumbs down on you. BBC rip us so much money off just to set cars/trucks on fire. What info do I get about Porsche GT2 from Top Gear? 'aaaaahhhhhhhhh and this ends my tests.' (I pay my TV licence for this?) thank you but no thank you, 5th gear talks much more about it plus loads more for PROPER car enthusiast from hosts who HAS a racing licence. So anyone put their thumbs down simply means they admit they are not a car enthusiast whatsoever.
You say Rally, I say Colin McRae...
You say Subaru, I say Colin McRae...
You say Legend, I say Colin McRae...
Enough said...
@@HappyDude1 we say “Colin”
Im riding my Colin McRae daily. Are you sure about that?

brings a tear to my eye having met this legend and shook his hand RIP colin gone but never forgotten
I WAS THERE I WAS THE M in McRae
MY dad has a 2006 subaru sti
Such a great event. :)
I was actually able to get Colin's autograph a couple of months before he died and I really treasure it, as well as the one I have from Richard Burns, which was the first driver autograph in my collection.
A fitting tribute to one of the greats
RIP Colin, Rally isn't the same without you
I could watch this all day.. Others might win more championships but none like the way Mcrae did it.. Superb.
The origianl convoy from Lanark to Prodrive on the Saturday contained at one point almost 1400 Subaru cars on the M40 near Banbury and yes it was almost 30 miles long from first car (ME) to last car
Great initiative. Wonderful moment when Vicki gets emotional. Shows what an impact McRae made. Great vid.
this was brilliant Vic
great tribute

I was there amazing and emotional day ,travelling from Lanark with hundreds of other Subaru drivers joining us on the way down to Banbury 👍

and that Subaru remembers me a LOT of Things...very NICE...
Colin McRae you're in our heart
Colin won the championship in Wales in L555 BAT not the Impreza she drove at the end.
Agreed!
That was truly awesome. What a tribute!
impresionante, como me hubiese gustado estar ahí, y escuchar el ronroneo de todos esos motores boxer al mismo tiempo....
All these imprezas and I doubt most of them are still around... plenty good looking pre 2000s scoobys there's.
Wow what a tribute, this event will be remembered for a long time to come.
Loved watching him throughout the 90's in the legacy and Impreza. Best of the rallies on television.
Un tributo al gran maestro colin mcrae Subarista y para mí en lo personal el y lo mejor del rally de los 80 y 90 gracias por aver existido en nuestras vidas gran Colin mcrae un abrazo fuerte al cielo para ty Master
Today(5/12/22) This video/Tribute, is just as relevant as it was back then...
i would cry while driving his awesome 1995 champ.
They didn't get it wrong; see ScoUK555's earlier comment!
She does say "the car that gave SUBARU the world title" (as in Constructors title) rather than the car that gave Colin his title.
I still get emotional a bout it now true champion and what a driver godess Colin McRae RIP my friend ✌✌✌
God I love the sound of the anti-lag system, the rapid backfire, mmm, beats any Ferrari or Lambo any day. Colin McRae is rallying and a legend. Keep racing Richard Burns in Heaven.

i just like to point out that Colin won the WRC championship in 1995 not 1996
You're actually right, she said at 1996 and all we know that makkinen won it with his Lancer
vaggos giannopoulos She said 1996, because this is Colin McRae's RACC Rally Catalunya Subaru Impreza 555 and the Subaru World Rally Team won the WRC manufacturers' title that year.
Yeah makinen won 1996 and consecutive years thats why colin left subaru and went to ford then skoda
I could be wrong, but I think I saw one of the fabled SVX in the M, there.
Almost Cried During this, so epic.. r.i.p Colin!
R.I.P. Colin, we all miss those glorious days with you.....
No doubt he could have won more World Championships if he had been able to back off a bit and drive for points, but he had to drive 110% all the time, unbelievable to watch and the reason the fans loved him

Andres Zeledon he was the king of rallying but no one knows where

james
McRae was seeing it from the sky and was laughing the shit out of him! Anyways that was a great tribute a big bravo to all that contributed to it.. RIP we will always remember you you crazy dude!

Yes it was bitch to organise and yes it gave me a nervous breakdown
Would i do it again
Hell yes
100 % Your a true Legend
When is it then..?
I turned up in my Mitsubishi Evo but was not allowed in 😔
She buggered up the convoy by being in a rush to go home after filming so the convoy didn't count because she got in the middle of it with a vauxhall, I was there I seen it with my own 2 eyes, there was no traffic jam she made it because it all had to stop because there was vauxhall in the middle
what a fucking dumb bimbo
100%. It booted me right in the balls when she started swaning about setting stuff up. Like we had not been planning this for months beforehand and she came along and thought, nah i want it done this way
love the gear change sound. carbon clutches are fucking mint!
I like how this began and ended.
Bellissimo!!! Colin Leggenda del Rally, riposa in pace Campione dei campioni.
Truly a legend he influenced WRC and even Rally America. A man that all could look up to.
rip colin mcRae.. ur games taught me many skills i use today as an adult..
Didn't Vicky say she was driving a Japanese spec Subaru yet it was LHD. Don't the Japanese drive on the left the same as the UK?
They do but make the rally cars are LHD
It was kind of a joke, because there was only one SVX at the event, and I happen to know he was in the M. ;)
the police car :L lol its the police interceptors one...which was on telly
if you type "Mcrae" and "kames" into the browser on this site you will see clips of both both Colin and his dad (another all time great), thrashing Colin's car around an Ayrshire amateur race track ;-) Well worth a look
The Subaru police car was a nice touch.
we miss you COLIN MCRAE...portugal misses you the all worl misses you
Love
VBH is awesome!!!
I started watching WRC in the mid-90's, so I got to see Makkinen vs. McRae............man, I've been spoiled lol!!
RIP Colin McRae
Such a nice girl. I got a little emotional when she started to tear up...
why so fabled? Not sold originally in the UK?
subies look sooo good with Rally armors
Must have felt overwhelming for vic as Col had taken her for a spin in both the porsche and his winning car.
subaru POWER!!!
i was the car 2.22 making the 3 point turn in the very narrow lane.
My respect to the legend Colin McRae....
5 people are odd.
Is it the Subaru with the spoiler?
@Troublesome2008 She rode along with Colin a couple times. i can imagine she would tear up a bit.
why subaru and mitsubishi not make
the evo and sti with 2 doors?
If god is late for an appointment i bet he calls colin
Was a great weekend, wouldn't go as far as saying was the best weekend of my life though, I think wedding, child birth and various other events were better for me. RIP Colin you legend!
is it the one with the hood scoop and the gold rims?

😂😂😂 Sat nav now fitted as standard 👍🏻🚗💨
how do u uWEAR an umbrella?
Colin would of been so touched by this : )
I would prefer the 1995 impreza 555 anyday over those non-hearted new ones.
R.I.P. Colin Mcrae
That's excellent!
I wish I was there with my soobe, I was more of a Tommi fan
R.I.P Colin McRae. You were the best.
