When you are racing you always turn off traction control otherwise it would slow you down. Even more so on a dirt track. It would kick in on every corner and the car would auto brake.
@@TheR3negadeMaster It's true, traction control on a two wheel drive vehicle severely reduces power to the engine whenever it detects loss of traction. It's not the same for a four wheel drive vehicle, because the traction control can choose a different wheel to send power to. The rear wheel drive vehicle was just a bad choice all around. I have a '98 Audi A4, FWD. Standard features include built-in ABS and ASR (anti-slip reduction). Basically ABS is for traction when braking and ASR is for traction when accelerating. However, the ASR system uses the same sensors to detect slipping traction, so it is interconnected with the ABS system. At one point, my Audi had a problem with the sensor being fouled up and giving off false positives around 15 mph for loss of traction. Therefore, braking on clear asphalt could result in the ABS kicking in and accelerating would instead find the engine reducing throttle. I had to turn off both systems with the ASR button on the console. This temporary fix immediately solved my throttling issues. Traction control for FWD or RWD vehicles is something you definitely don't want to deal with in a race.

I'd like to think that when Jeremy opts to suggest that the Stig will drive the lap when James reads the card, that James already know that it isn't possible... because the Stig is in his trunk. A small scene would be fun where James would wheel the Stig out of the closet which has written 'Stig' on the door. Then another scene where the producer asks an assistant to prepare the Stig for transport to Australia for the upcoming episode. Then the assistant discovers that the Stig is gone. Following is a scene where the assistant would mention it to the producer and the producer tells the assistant to get one of the spare Stigs. French Stig, German Stig, Dutch Stig, Italian Stig, Spanish Stig, Japanese Stig etc. Then a new frame of the assistant opening the Australian Stig out of the closet and carrying him away.
It's because the R35 is more boring to drive (when driving in a similar manner) then an R32, R33, or R34. That's simply due to the new tech and fantastic engineering. While I'd rather have an R32, the R35 is a fantastic car.
